I did consider that and tried to recreate it and then rememberd that all the audio came from the mic plugged into my camera (not the phone or the Atoto unit). It's yet another sign that the camera hates me - it makes me look fat too!!
Yep, if you were to use one regularly I think it would be wise to get it hard wired by an auto electrician and get it all hidden. Not a big job actually.
Looks a good alternative to replacing an old head unit. Looking to do it in my wife’s ‘07 SLK, but price and dodgy looking brands at reasonable prices have made me take my time deciding. This could be just the time saving solution I need. Thanks 👍🏾
I'd seen an advert for a 'look-a-like' unit for a 1/3 the price of this one. On checking some more there are many options so it's hard to know the 'real deal'.

I tried a different (cheap unbranded) one which looked quite similar in a mate's car the other day and it was awful, not a patch on this. I didn't spend a ton of time with this one but was impressed. Certainly makes an old car feel new!
If you are just playing music to the P8 from your phone via Bluetooth only(not CarPlay and not Android Auto) does it display track information like the song title etc..?
