I think it is crazy that people are saying why would you leave him, when almost the entirety of the people in chat (including myself) would not have made it to the turn around point when it was stable nevermind go through it, especially while rocks were literally falling behind me. Edit: this was not call out any specific chatter just a theme in chat that I noticed.

My theory is that in some sense any group of people contains these types of talents, but they need something to channel it into. In this case, people have musical talent they wouldn't really discover even themselves because they have nothing to write about. Also, a meme song for Atrioc has this air of non-seriousness, which means that the pressure is off. ALSO, it started with something kind of ironic and evolved into this meaning we properly developed a community where people feel comfortable creating art when they might elsewhere not feel comfortable doing so. I think about this a lot

in defense of the 'just' 3 days statement. What it means is that Floyd held on 9 days without food or water, and only died when the rescuers were only 8 feet above him having dug 52 feet at that point. I think Internet historian should have emphasized how far away they were and how long he would have had to have held on to life without food and water exposed to the cold water unable to move, but yeah 3 days timewise is pretty decisive in their missing him

I completely agree if that if they stuck with the original and simple plan of just taking turns moving the gravel around Floyd, eventually they would have been able to pull him out. I mean it's not like a whole fucking mountain of gravel was above Floyd, eventually the pocket of gravel would have emptied out. But instead, they used a whole bunch of stupid ass methods and wasted time while the cave was thawing out and collapsing.
