Can I just ask, I just installed brutal weather v2.4 I think it was and I still have v2.3. Do I keep them both active?

@@RiverPhobia it's unfortunately closed down. Thankfully, since the games' v1.40 onwards the graphics and lighting are much better, so not as much need for graphics mods anymore.

Hi Mr. Clumsy. The best video I saw on in-game graphics was your video of about 8-9 months ago. I just started playing the game about 4 months ago and that video was very helpful in setting up the graphics within the game to maximum effect for my pc. As a starting point, I recommend anyone watching this to go and watch that before installing one of these mods because if you don’t maximize to your own pc, these mods will show up differently and not to their full effect. I had NaturaLux in ETS and it was impressive but the gauntlet you had to go thru just to get the download was imposing. I will probably reload it once it is again available for ETS and hopefully ATS. Thank you for another great video.

I love the sky boxes in natural lux but that white reflecting really puts me off. That’s why I like to use realistic graphics mod (and nl is still in closed Beta). Great video must have been a lot of work!

PNG is the winner for me, beautiful skyboxes with correct lighting. NL has a lot of incorrect lighting making it very unrealistic. To be honest I turn your video’s off a lot of time because the unrealistic lighting of NL, both in ETS2 and ATS

Thanks for your honesty. I prefer NL for the variety and for me looks more realistic, but I get how it could be too much sometimes. I definitely am liking PNG, too. Very natural and easy on the eyes.

Thanks Clumsy, great video. For me PNG is the best, specially when combined with Filmic Lighting and a JD6 V5 reshade. Nl is really cool at night and when rains, but during day time is a little bit too much bright imho.

@@TheClumsyGeekGaming Definitely, a bit easier to do that on ATS though. On ETS2 I most often use one of Grimes lowest, then PNG and after that FAEL, too many combinations to compare counting in RGM, NaturaLux and some more there! 😄😄😄

All these mods should work together to make the ultimate graphics mod! Until then, I'll stick to RGM. I like the variety of cloud formations. Also that haze you're describing is RGM's attempt at atmospheric perspective. So yes, it's trying for more realism.

Great video clumsy ! I’m currently using RGM 5.0. IMO the mod has improved from 4.0. I really like the nights instead of the days. Whenever I play during the day, I have to set my brightness to 40 % in game. I’m also experimenting with PNG, in a higher priority, and RGM 5.0.

With PNG and RGM, does the game show PNG's skybox or both randomly?

RGM is the most realistic by far. I've spend plenty of hours at work on the road and the mod captures the lighting effect perfectly for me specially daytime where in areas with such enviroment sun blinding brightness makes no room for dark tone shadows or colors and it's present in the sky as in the reflection on ground. I think they nailed it on the lighting effect much more accurate than any other mod outhere. Realistic indeed.

When it comes to sky boxes which is mainly the comparison here project next gen is king. No competition if you watch the 4 way comparison again. PGN is the underdog

I think I go for RGM. I kinda like the filter and the slight haze even though I don't know if that's realistic or not. My second choice would be naturalux, so I'm really excited for the release!

I tend to use Steam available mods, so RGM is my choice since it is the only one. I like that road signs are completely remade in this mod. And night sky is better and better with every version. And the hazy filter over everything, I live in similar area of the world so in summer, there is a dusty haze in the air.

nice review , for me i use RBW with my config reshade , so i arrived close realistic and i still try to find a good balance night and daylight

Realistic brutal weather's haziness is just a part of the weather system. Sometimes it's hazy sometimes its clear. But u get all different types of weather high res textures much better rain and different plus the lighting is great. Levels of Rain intensity. RGM looks too cartoony at times but what makes it appealing is that it plays nice with other graphics and weather mods. I've added a rain intensity mod and realistic road and vegetation mod on top of RGM and it worked well

NL wins for me because while PNG may be the most realistic, real life weather can be boring sometimes. I really like the vibrant colours and shading of NL, and while the skybox isn't as good as PNG, It's the second best of the group.

That's a good point. Thanks for sharing. Unfortunately it looks like NL has closed down for good. The good thing is, we have ets2/ats version 1.40 to look forward to in Q1 2021 which improves the overall lighting and graphics. 👍

I would honestly help Damian work on new morning/evening skyboxes myself just to see the mod at its full potential. PNG is arguably the best graphics mod as far as the daytime skybox is concerned. It would also need some work on the night time lighting as it tends to be a bit too lit. Thanks for the video anyway!🚛⛟

Rn, I use Realistic Graphics mod because it was the easiest to download lol. But now I am really tempted to try Project NextGen. Those clouds look so beautiful on PNG. Great efforts on comparing those mods. I wonder how much time did it take to record those videos each individually since many of them were timelapse.

PNG is awesome and worth the little extra effort. Just grab it off the SCS forums and download and unzip directly to the ATS mods folder. Super simple. Have fun truckin' ✌️

JBX Graphics 2 is now my favourite graphics mod tbh. Yes its a pay mod but the results are incredible and its very well optimised, I would say it runs better then RBW and NL.

RGM is my go to just because of the verity of weather on top of the skyboxes, The nights are too dark though, with no real moon lighting.

PNG is really great bug I am having troubles with raining. It rains but the Skybox still looks like normal weather, which makes it weird.

Ok well RGM made the most realistic to real-life "fog, smog, filter" as I took a long drive for work from 5am to 11am today and I literally saw the same thing and to be honest I like the RGM... it's just that the chrome bits for me doesn't shine as good as it really suppose to, that's the only hiccup I have... Ps.. hope v1.40 roll out will get updated to RGM quickly

I've been running PNG for a couple weeks and love it. I always got terrible frame rates with RGM on ATS and ETS2. I'm still running FILMC lighting on ETS2 though, which is another great mod.

I never understood the hype for RGM. It makes the day light too warm and the skyboxes look flat and low resolution.

its the most accesible as its always updated and is found on Steam workdshop, which none of the others are... and two of the other mods are made by modders with big egos and greed for money, which makes me turn them down. I dont like RGM either its not realistic in my eyes, i always as in always go for Grimes seasons mods as they are the most realistic and you have all seasons aviable and they are free and always updated.

Back in the day, it was really the only one out that was making waves. Now its being outclassed because frkn doesn't attempt to drive the quality up on it. The mod still has great potential, but frkn has to put in the effort

Nice video.I reccomend you check JBX Graphics payware version I use it.They have a facebook page and also a forum.The skyboxes is similar to naturalux,8k resolution,but I think the lighting is better then naturalux,is pretty realistic but with less white,and also have version for use with frosty winter,that is adjustable to the snow not look so bright .No need reshade,is just optional.

I enjoy RGM with Fael Environment a lot. I used to use NaturaLux but since it doesn’t work, i changed to RGM. I think i like NL better, but i do seem to get better FPS with RGM. i enjoy both options though

hope 1.38 will bring graphics much better we have with all of this mods. dx11 open the access to volumetric lighting, fog, better optimisation, new materials with parallax mapping, better draw shadows distance, dynamic headlights shadows and much more

You should also try Robinicus graphics mod which is pretty good. I am currently using Real Graphics mod 5. I like it when it's clear but a lot of times you get that smoggy look even though the sun is out which I don't like that much. Foggy is fine but I don't like that smoggy look that much.

Maybe I missed it in the video, but do you have HDR turned on or off for this? I have mine turned on but I changed the bloom effect from "1" to "0" in the game file but sometimes it's still a little too bright. I'm running PNG btw.

HDR is on for all. Bloom is default, so the graphics mod can control it. PGN leaves it at 1, but NL reduces the bloom on its own (via the climate files, maybe?).

I do not know how hard it, or IF it would be possible at all, but I often miss the effect of the wind on a truck... You know, when you drive in a stormy weather and your car is pushed sideways.. This effect would be even greater, since you are dealing with the large surface of the trailer.

Yes, million dollar question right there lol. With ETS2 there are so many other options. Free options include RGM, RBW, and PGN 2.0. Paid options are JBX 2 or PGN photorrealistic.

RGM is the only one that shows the true colour of the truck. The other ones, I wouldn't imagine it's actually white. That's the one I'd choose. NL would be better if it wasn't so bright. PNG for the best clouds. Really gorgeous.

Hey Clumsy! These are great graphics mods! I’d like to ask which is great for performance since I use a pretty low end laptop. Should I use one of these or just stick to the default SCS graphics? And if I should use them, which one should I? Thanks!

Thanks! Default might be the safest. If you're struggling with default already, the others will just make it worse, unfortunately. But you can at least try. Maybe it will not be bad at all. Good luck!

Clumsy Ok so I’ve tried ProjectNG and Realistic Graphics. ProjectNG shows a black sky on the day which I could not fix and Realistic Graphics also does this but the author has a add-on mod to fix this. So automatically Realistic Graphics Mod wins! It runs surprisingly not badly 🤔

You can just keep the newest one. Keeping the old one wouldn't help.

Can’t comment on NL because it’s not available to peasants but JBX has the best lighting by a mile but I still need reshade with all of them to get rid of the scs green washed out tinge I get with the game.

Oh yeah JBX. I used that for a time in ETS2 and liked it very much. Only thing was it needed ReShade, which is an additional layer of complexity that some people don't like.

I really like NL's skybox, but the lighting during the day looks very dazzle and Overexposure. It really hurts my eyes sometimes (The same problem in ETS2 version). Hoping they can fix this issue

I used to use RGM in ETS2 all the time, then I started to notice that it always looked like it was about to rain. Looks like that's still the case, unfortunately, because I really like it otherwise.

Ok, I only just watched this video for the first time, late last night. I decided to look into downloading/installing Naturalux. Definitely NOT a quick process! Well, after many hours of repeated download attempts, I finally was able to get all of the files completely downloaded. Then I found out that the current version of Naturalux is NOT compatible with 1.37. Upon further research, I read there is a way to edit the separate files to read 1.37 vs 1.36. Ok, did that. But I am running 1.38. Still does not work. From what I have read, Naturalux has not been updated to run in 1.38, and there doesn't seem to be any more information on if it will be updated. Any more information or help here? Thanks, Pete

For ETS2, I prefer PNG because the graphics are more realistic than that of RGM and the files are smaller. RGM is also not bad but there are always light blooms when you turn on the light although the developer has developed a separate mod for that. Besides, the vibrance or the saturation of the colours in RGM is a bit higher. For ATS, I had to select RGM because it is the only free graphics mod for that. If i would decide to pay for a graphics mod, I would go for JBX instead of PNG.

PNG it is for me. ETS2 I didn't like NL the download and had the over exposure as well. It took my framerates down as well. The skyboxes are nice from NL but the downsides make that I choose PNG. PNG can have nice mornings as well, don't think it happens as often as with NL.

PNG is really nice. Very natural feel. I only wish it had better sunrise but aside from that it looks so fresh and real.

Thanks! ETS2 is a very complicated beast with tons of different possible combinations, so for now you can check the individual graphics mod I try out, but nothing like this comparison for the moment. enjoy!

It shouldn't hurt perf more than usual, so if you can play the game with those specs, should be fine.

I would be interested to see how NL looks in a less-sunny city, like Seattle. You say NL looks overexposed everywhere, but ask anyone that lives in the southwest...everything looks overexposed in real life too. Signs are near impossible to read in sunlight, every shade of white is overexposed, you need sunglasses during the daytime to see anything...it looks pretty realistic to me.

It depends on your the color of your eye pupil. Those things in real life you mentioned as being over exposed might seem overexposed to you probably because you have light colored eyes (blue eyes or green eyes, etc). People with dark eye pupils (dark brown, black, etc) don't have this problem.

Naturalux is to bright, bleeds so much when you look at the guard rail behind the truck it's featureless, white blob, like a negative of that part of the picture.

Just asking, are you using VR? I have never seen a VR gameplay and I'm doubting if you are using Oculus or whatever.. or just a weird camera mod.

I'm not using VR, but a head tracker called TrackIR. I'm still using the standard monitor but instead of moving the camera via mouse, the device tracks my head movements and moves the camera accordingly.

I have to be honest here...I did like the Naturalux mod but I feel that it's too much of a hassle to download them just to get the experience. Instead, I got Project NexGen and used it for a while, I really love it over NL. I don't mean any offense but PNG feels so soothing and easy on my eyes as well since NL can sometime bothers my eyes with brightness. That reminds me, I wonder if PNG will work in the next updates. And after that.

ETS2 and ATS PNG/NL are quite different, but yes I'm starting to enjoy the natural look of PNG for ATS.

If you can find the files, they normally have a readme to specify which versions are supported. Most of these are no longer updated, unfortunately. Thankfully, there is not much need anymore since v1.40 thanks to the default lighting update.

@@TheClumsyGeekGaming he made a post saying the update will be sent to peoples email little by little starting with people he sees most active on his forum, yesterday a few people in a FB group said the never received the last 2 updates from him and messaged several times asking why they aren't getting the updates, making a post saying that he's sending out the update little by little to people he sees in his forum first says a lot about the type of person he is, personally I'd never recommend buying anything from a person like that, anyway love your vids bro, cheers!!

Hi Vladimir. Don't worry about getting low fps... there is an easy fix for that. I also had low fps, but I managed to easily fix the problem by donating my computer to a friend and buying a new one with an RTX 3090 and intel core i9 with 32GB of ram. Ironic that Naturalux is the least natural looking of these 4 haha. I tried NL a while back , the blown out whites are a deal breaker for me. Interesting that it's leading the poll at this time. I guess that shows thast the majority of users prefer a spectacular but unrealistic look. PNG for me :)
