Good method overall! These days I tend to use neoprene pouches for my transmitters, but prior to that I would tape in a similar fashion (though some of the older Shure systems could be a pain in the neck with battery door placement). That said, the approach with the cable is new to me; I typically just wrap a couple of times around the strap/endpin, but this is much neater.

you can also flip the strap the other way, so that the adjustment slider is on the front, then the guitar player can always adjust his strap. they also sel replacement 4 pn cables so you can get one with a right angle, for les pauls.

This is probably one of the best ways of attaching it since your antenna will not get damaged, and still have the possibility to turn it on/off, mute and change batteries really fast. I have one of those leather pouches and in an extraordinary/urgent situation it's simply not accessible. Thank you for the tip!

This is genius. The clip on the new Shure GLXD+ doesn't allow you to run the pack parallel to your strap, I thought I'd need to get one of those pouches or resort to a messier solution but this is perfect!

Yes it does. Just remove 1 side of the clip, slide the strap, and clip it again.

This was the video I needed, thanks! (Didn't even realize the clip came off the back of my unit, duh). Hey, question: why do you go with straight plug rather than right, given your bottom-edge guitar jack? I mainly play strats so have always used straight plugs, but I've recently started playing a guitar with a bottom jack, and the right-angle seems like lower-profile and more durable way to go , wondering if I'm missing something. Thanks!

Same, I've had a few ideas about attaching some sort of fabric sleeve, but it always comes down to cost vs ease of trouble shooting

That's good advice. However, not practical switching out guitars, for a live set. What do you do then?

I find it very practical. Each guitar has its own strap and wireless pack. That is why access to the power switch is valuable.

Hey dude, how does using multiple guitars work with wireless systems? Do you have separate transmitters for each of them that all connect to a single receiver or do they all have their own separate receivers and there's some behind the scenes work being done to switch between them?

I’m using the Sennheiser ew-d system. All my guitars have their own straps and wireless transmitters. When you switch guitars you must turn off the wireless pack before turning on the next one. You can only use one wireless pack at a time. That’s why this method is so good because it gives you quick easy access to the power button inside the battery compartment.

@@Beau.Burchell yeah sweet! Does the ew-d link up pretty quickly with the packs when you're switching between them? I've been wanting to move to wireless for a while now but always use at least two, usually 3 basses, for the shows that I play, and wasn't sure how simple it'd be switching between them wirelessly. Sounds like this could be the solution!

@@Kannonify it links up very fast. You have to hold the power button for a second or so for it to power on. Once I see an led turn on on the pack I close the battery door. It’s linked by the time I have the door shut.

@@ThatBradGuyTV so same way. remove the metal clip, then re attach it on the strap, then use a thin piece of gaff tape to go around the top of the unit above the screen. then if you want more stability, you can do a thick piece around the back up onto the sides that you can cut with a razor blade at the battery compartment.

If this works for you great, I've used levys transmiter pouches upside down and a small piece of hook and loop inside the pouch and I haven't had any issues. No tape needed, i can access all the buttons and keeps the pack from dinging my guitars, and basses. No need to even mess with the "clippy" part. If this helps someone, great. Most of the neoprene style pouches feel very bulky to me. And as mentioned in the video, we need quick access to the battery box
