I am really learning alot. Just a quick question. Does titebond 2 will also work as glue to binding? Or does acetone does it better? Thanks for answering my questions.

For this video where I’m using plastic, no, you can’t use Titebond. It won’t bond plastic to wood. Using acetone here with plastic melts the plastic, bonding it to the wood. If you don’t have or want to use acetone, you can also use super glue

@@zwitchguitars I see. The same applies to inlays right? Super glue suits it better? Thanks man. I hope you won't get tired of answering my questions. I am starting to rebuild my "dream les paul" 🤟

@@ernestsureta5461 No problem at all, happy to help. For inlays, people tend to use CA glue/super glue, since they aren’t necessarily going to be plastic (e.g. mother-of-pearl, abalone, etc)

@@zwitchguitars ok. I was thinking to use yellow pearloidish pickguard. That's more accessible for me. Appreciate this alot man 🤟.

That's a great looking body shape, the binding should set the shape of nicely when it's all done

looking great, I had just watched a vid by Texas toast showing the same Process on binding, and also BigD has some good vids on doing a burst with dye, keep up the great work

Ha! Those are my two go-to channels for more practical tips, including the acetone binding trick. I'll almost certainly be trying to replicate this Big D video for my staining ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MRTQwAlWHUw.html

Binding is looking good! Are you dying the top or keeping clear?

I'm planning on doing something like a lemonburst / amber dye, top only. The sides and back will stay natural cherry (with a possible light coat of Tru Oil or Tung Oil for color)
