Imagine being a psych major and both your professor's and your therapist requires you to know attachment theory.

Having knowledge about attachment style is good but how can we inculcate these things into our parents because after birth parents are the first teacher of a child....to cut a long story short parents need to be educated regarding such kind of knowledge

@@LearnMyTest not really.. i have always depended on one person.. when i was a child it was my mother after that as soon as i turned 18 i started dating and i have not been single a day in my adult life.. i jump right into the next relationship as soon as the previous one ends. I just can't be alone. Now i am stuck in a loveless marriage married to guy who does not love me or even bothers to contact me.. now that i finally have some alone time.. i think about stuff like this a lot

I stopped the video almost immediately, since there are plenty of studies showing infants recognizing their parents right after birth. They learn to self-regulate their sleep,among other skills, trough the development of a (preferably) stable attachment to a caretaker. So in current attachment theories the first two stages are classified together as attachment in the making

I didn’t get. As far As I know It matters how the primary caregiver treats the baby during the sensitive period (0~4). And depending on that, the attachment forms. This video gives the impression that attachment styles are innate.
@akshaybodla163
@akshaybodla163 5 лет назад
There was one study (can't remember what it is called at the moment) that shows children often follow the emulate their parent's behavioral patterns. This includes everything from exercise to smoking to their attachment styles. What that means is children who were raised with a secure attachment are more likely to develop a secure attachment with their children. The same idea goes for ambivalent/resistant and avoidant

Its funny that you say the child who is avoidant attachment is a sign of child abuse i think its more likely a sign that the child has become comfortable in knowing mom will come back and thats why they don't stress an maybe the child has been exposed to alot socialization I know I w when I had my first 2 kids I went back to work when they we were only 6 weeks old and had 3 regular sitters plus dad an my kids never threw a fit of any sort when I would leave or when it was time to leave the sitters
