Hey man keep the videos coming! I know you get a lot of requests but do you think you could do like a Mike Chanenchuk vs Bryant matchup? He went off in that game! And I'd love to see again! Thanks!

Adam Lamberti No promises, but that's one I was thinking about doing. I feel like I've done a ton of matchup videos recently, so I'm working on a few other kinds at the moment.

I like this, you should make them of other dodges.
@lacrossefilmroom
@lacrossefilmroom 10 лет назад
sammy dizzle I will. It's incredibly difficult to try to seek out and find a specific type of dodge like this. As I'm watching games, I try to tag noteworthy ones, so that I can go back and find them later. My plan is to put together a video like this one once I manage to find enough similar dodges.

Do more Matt Donovan vs Goran Murray!

RaceSundayRIver I believe, there is another dodge or two of that matchup that will end up in a video at some point. When I'm looking to do more matchup videos, that is a matchup I will consider doing.

What about some clips showing midfielder moves?
@lacrossefilmroom
@lacrossefilmroom 10 лет назад
What about them? Do you want to see a video with a bunch of clips of different midfielders all doing the same dodge? If you just want to see midfielders dodging, there are plenty of videos on this channel. For example see Sergio Perkovic scores 5 goals in the national championship game

Lacrosse Film Room I like to watch all of the videos you put up, but I'd just like to see more of the interesting moves that college players do. I don't get to watch many full games, so it's always cool to see what players that I play the same position as do differently, and see what I need to work on. Could you do something like a "season highlights by position"? I feel like videos like that would be interesting, and would help a large target audience

Do you have any defensive videos in the works?
@lacrossefilmroom
@lacrossefilmroom 10 лет назад
What would you consider a defensive video? I feel that videos like this are helpful for both offensive and defensive players. Especially in this case because so many defensive schemes want close defenders to get beat via an inside roll if they do get beat by a dodge from X. For example, the Rob Pannell goal against Goran Murray is pretty good on ball defense and most likely would have been a pretty easy caused turnover if someone had slide on time. If I put together a video that had more defenders sliding to and stopping inside rolls, would that be a defensive video? There are a couple in here, it's just biased towards ones that resulted in goals because those were ones more likely to get labeled "inside roll" as I was watching games and splicing up clips this spring.

Something along the lines of good approaches and like in the US vs Canada the first game or slide packages hair recognizing when it's a good time to slide etc I'm really digging for a lee zink video
@lacrossefilmroom
@lacrossefilmroom 10 лет назад
MrDbtx Like a compilation of good approaches? I'm not sure anyone would want to watch that. Plus, I think it overlaps with other videos. The Lyle Thompson vs. Tucker Durkin video is practically 6 minutes worth of good approaches and body positioning. In terms of slide packages, they're hard to do because any single play can't tell you everything about the entire slide package. In every play that I break down, I talk about how the defense is sliding. I did one where the defense successfully slid and recovered, but no one watches that one. Everyone wants to see goals. When to slide is really tough to do a video on. Most of the variables involved in that are more about the relative abilities of the players involved than anything else. For example, I'm going to slide quicker to a player with the ball in their strong hand with a cannon who isn't much of a feeder when playing with a weaker goalie than I am when it's a player who has the ball in their weak hand who is exclusively a feeder with that hand playing in front of a strong goalie.

I like the Hopkins slide and recover one... Maybe if you could do more break downs of plays and assess the play for both sides of the ball
@lacrossefilmroom
@lacrossefilmroom 10 лет назад
MrDbtx I feel like pretty much all of the videos breaking down specific plays are fairly balanced between defense and offense. It's impossible to do a good job breaking down a play without talking about what both the offense and defense are doing and why they're doing it because they're related. The defense is responding to what the offense does and the offense is responding to what the defense does. For example, in the Duke 2 man game video I spent time talking about the approach angle on the slide and Brian Megill's off ball positioning. In the video on the Syracuse zone, I probably spent a majority of the video talking about the defense through things like each player's responsibilities in the zone and how it rotates. That Syracuse zone one was especially balanced because I showed 2 cases where Syracuse played the action well and 1 where they screwed up and Duke scored.

tful trev But, if I made highlight videos, then I wouldn't have as much time to make all of the other videos. Plenty of other people make highlight videos, I'm trying to make videos that will help you get better at lacrosse.

Maybe the inside roll wouldn't be so effective if our coaches would tell us to play bottom side around the crease.
@lacrossefilmroom
@lacrossefilmroom 9 лет назад
You can't play bottom side unless the slide is already there because otherwise it ends up being watching the guy score topside.
