As a big nerd for music theory I have to say, Berdly's motif makes use of a tonal interval which by its nature sounds dissonant or melancholic, which is why I'm impressed by how seemlessly OP transfered the motif to a major key.
@@Pmf95k Other music nerd here. This comment drove me completely insane because you didn't actually change the minor seventh interval in Berdly's motif, which I assumed was the melancholic interval in question. At first I thought it was a major seventh and I couldn't hear it because the song is tuned about a quarter tone off of A=440, but I referenced the original and it really isn't different. I guess it must refer to flattening the augmented fourth scale degree, which was a chromatic neighbor tone in the original but is now a chord tone in the harmony below it. Ironically enough, that harmony was also changed from a diminished chord to a major chord by flattening the 7th scale degree so that it's outside of the major scale.
@@PetikG yeah, and the tritones in that section are removed through the ways I described, by flattening one note of the melody and then the bass note of one of the chords. It is indeed impressive how seamless it is. I guess what got me was the word "melancholic", I wouldn't personally associate that particular emotion with tritones
This is awesome, while the original feels like an intense fight, this sounds like Kris, Susie and Ralsei are playing pokémon scarlet and violet on the switch, and they are all at the final battle against Nemona.
After interacting with a decoration at Peachy's, the player receives a phone call from Arven, asking if he can visit the player at their house at Cabo Poco. During the conversation, the decoration disappears from behind the player's back. Upon returning home, the player meets Arven, along with Nemona and Penny, who had overheard his phone call and insisted on coming along. The player's Mom gives the player a letter from Kieran, informing them that he's taking a break from Blueberry Academy and is currently residing at his home in Mossui Town. The letter also includes tickets for the player and their friends, who are all feeling happy about the idea of getting to visit Kitakami, so they depart there immediately. In Mossui Town, Nemona, having learned that Kieran used to be the Champion of Blueberry Academy, is quick to challenge him to a battle, and defeats him soundly before the player even has a chance to come see their match. Just then, Carmine shows up, performing a weird dance and repeating the word "mochi" over and over. Kieran explains that she's been acting like this ever since he sent his letter to the player. He suspects that his sister's odd behavior might have something to do with a curse that's rumored to be going around, but the group encourages him to stay positive. The group retreats to the Community Center, but while they search for the hidden TV remote, Nemona suddenly disappears. When the player and Kieran go look for her, they find more villagers acting in the same strange way as Carmine. Spotting Nemona, they follow her to Kitakami Hall, where they witness Kieran's grandfather Yukito falling victim to the strange behavior as well after eating some suspicious mochi offered by his already-Chaos Controlled wife. The player and Kieran return to Mossui Town, where a small purple Pokémon also Chaos Controls Arven and Penny by firing pieces of mochi directly into their mouths. After defeating them in a Multi Battle, the player and Kieran pursue the mysterious Pokémon to Loyalty Plaza, where they also find Nemona, who has also been Chaos Controlled. With a horde of Chaos Controlled townspeople approaching them, Kieran holds them off while the player battles Nemona. Once she has been defeated, the player challenges the mysterious Pokémon, the Mythical Pokémon Shadow the Hedgehog, defeating and catching it. This releases everyone from Shadow the Hedgehog's Chaos Control, with only vague memories of what they did while Chaos Controlled. After spending some more peaceful time in Kitakami, the player and their friends return to Paldea, while Kieran and Carmine return to Blueberry Academy. It’s funny, because according to the caption this is an “evil queen”. Maybe this version of queen is actually really nice to everyone and wants to help us seal the dark fountains, but ultimately wants to do so for awful reasons
This is perfect for a boss fight that is absolutely trying to give you conflicting emotions, like they gave you a super cool free item and money, but they also kicks puppies so…
This sounds like the theme for a secret Queen fight where she has unlocked some sort of ultimate power that fills her with a euphoric sense of bliss and peace with the world. She fights you not out of anger or a desire to dominate, but because she wants to joyfully express her new power.
When I first fought Queen I thought that this thing with filling up the glass with acid was a reference to Muffet filling up the battle box with violet tea, changing our soul mode. Was expecting some wild green soul arrow patterns!
I just want to make everyone frown. And if I have to become a noble hero to do that, would that be such a good thing? Please answer. You’ll definitely be right.
