I homeschooled my 2 children for some of their elementary school years (started out in public school, but my first child was reading at an 8th grade level at kindergarten age, and was also several years ahead in math- our school had zero idea on how to make his time in school appropriate to his educational level). It was during that time that I realized that knowing “how” to learn (think) is more important than learning a specific thing (memorizing historical dates for example). Having critical thinking skills should be the most important aspect of schooling, but it seems as if many schools (not all) almost train kids to NOT be able to think critically.

Unfortunately the higher ups don’t want critical thinking taught or even discussed. They want Sheeple to just plod along and get dumber and dumber. No one questioning anything and the world population allowing this unstoppable conditioning.

Just want to mention, they aren't genuinely insulted, actually. These people that make up "the mob" aren't just wimpy, delicate snowflakes, with big "fee-fees". Most are cynical agent provocateurs, trying to push an authoritarian movement that they hope to gain from. In addition to those arguing in bad faith, a pretty big chunk of them are simply easily influenced fools who desire to "fit in" with a crowd and don't want to be rejected. So they jump to the defense of the hypothetical "victim" (many of which do not, in reality, feel offended!), and therefore only ACTUALLY help the lying cynics. They're like the stereotypical villain sidekick, who joins up with said villain for cowardly reasons; Hoping to avoid the abuse by helping perpetrate it. They're the proverbial "torch and pitchfork" carrying mob that get carried away by mob mentality, because they tried out feeding that base, animalistic desire for hatred and violence, and it felt pleasant. Much more pleasant than calming down and engaging in reason. For some, simply soothing their feelings of anxiety and fear by being on the side of the aggressor is a good enough reward. This tactic of stirring up the "umbrage mob", is one that cults and authoritarian movements love to use. It's actually called a "struggle session", and the ONLY way to get through it is by sticking to truth and enduring. So, the answer is still the same. But I know that, for me, learning about the mechanisms behind this, and how it's not actually hurting people's feelings by saying factual truth, has really helped me maintain my composure and not let what "the mob" says get to me. The struggle session is most often not even about the target changing their mind, or repenting, but is instead a performative act, put on for the benefit of those watching, with the goal of influencing more of those people to their side, via weaponizing and hijacking empathy, while also terrorizing those same people ("See what happens if you fall outta line? You better do what we say, or else this will be you!") It's not at all about ACTUAL hurt feelings. Thankfully, right now the "struggle sessions" are only about trying to destroy reputations and careers and not someone's literal heartbeat directly, through literal, physical violent force. A typical struggle session in a full blown, late stage authoritarian movement usually involves actual lynch mobs or violence against a prisoner by other prisoners, thereby eliminating those who refuse to "convert", and strengthening the mental hold on those who give in and join in the violence. However, if us reasonable people do not stop this cult's infectious mass hysteria, it WILL become that awful, more violent version.

Another Canuck and I am a former academic (taught for over two decades and retired last year). So, I am very familiar with the type of people you are dealing with. It is amazing how the people who are running around the halls of academia yelling the word 'diversity' have no actual clue what the words mean. They are trying to intimidate you and force you to take down your videos and otherwise shut up. As wiseonwords said, the worst thing to do is apologize and give into the mob. Realize that the mob is a lot smaller than we often perceive (especially when they need to resort to bots) and also realize that for every YT commentator or student who voices their support for you, there will be 100 more who simply don't feel brave enough to say it out loud. More people are on your side that might appear.

Fun Fact: Critical thinking or "Logic" is part of the Trivium (Logic, Grammar, and Rhetoric) which is also known as the "liberal arts". It is called the liberal arts because these 3 things are considered fundamental for a person to be free. However, the public education system (in almost all developed countries including the U.S.) is a "Prussian" based education system, which deliberately removes the Trivium from the curriculum. It did this to ready youth for the industrial revolution, and also make them more compliant to authority figures (bosses, chain of command, etc). The opposite method of teaching that was exemplified in this teacher's viral video is called the Socratic method, and teaches it's students *_how to think_* , instead of *_what to think._*

@@isaklytting5795 Everything I've read on the subject says it was developed in Prussia in the late 18th and early 19th century. I'm not sure what you mean by _"origin of the abolition of this way of education"_ as it is not abolished, but instead is currently the de-facto form of education in developed countries around the world (I am not sure of the standards of non-developed countries). Prussian based education is still prevalent when reaching college, though you're likely to start seeing more of the "Socratic" method at that level of education, particularly in classes such as philosophy. Unfortunately, this is late in the mental development cycle and much of the damage of the Prussian based education system is already done. On an interesting side note, After WWII, psychologist Stanley Milgram did a number of experiments that have become known as the "Milgram experiments", which were designed to measure a person's willingness to obey authority even when their conscious would tell them not to. He created the experiments purportedly because he wanted to understand why such a great number of Germans joined in committing atrocities during WWII. When you understand how the Prussian based education system is designed to make people more compliant to authority, as well as the results of his experiments... it all fits, though I don't know that he made this correlation himself. If you're interested in this subject matter, I highly recommend reading up on Prussian based education systems (good books by John Taylor Gatto), Look into the Milgram experiments (kinda scary when you realize the numbers are still relevant today), Watch a movie called "The Wave" (based on a true story about American High School teacher students learn how easy it is to be inducted by the same social forces that lead to German's role in WWII). On the flip side of things, There's an excellent and rare teacher who teaches (Sociology?) at Penn State University, and does a great job exemplifying the Socratic method. You can find video recordings of his classes on RU-vid channel "SOC115".

Oh there must be a reckoning in the field of “psychology.” It’s a major source of the problem: Ideologues masquerading as professionals/experts and betraying trust in their authority in order to push ideological narratives. Just like doctors and pharmaceutical companies have been (somewhat, but not nearly enough) held accountable for the opiate epidemic. Psychology has a real problem on its hands. It’s by their blessing and activism that many things are being perpetuated. They should be first against the wall.(metaphorically speaking) At least that’s how I feel about it.
