Although the ending of this great anime and manga will give me another void in my heart to the other endless voids I have.. I can't wait for the abridged voice overs and edits.
The part where hange was talking to Armin about his “plan” wasn’t very clear in this episode - the only part that was armin’s plan was using that aircraft to fly low and slow over liberio using the guiding lights to pick up Paradis soldiers so they can escape. That’s what hange was calling reckless. Only the aircraft rescue portion of the Liberio raid was armin’s plan.
I don't understand how anyone on the Marley's side knows Levi is an Ackerman. Levi didn't even know he was an Ackerman until season 3, and at that point Reiner and Bertholdt were no longer with the Scouts. In the second half of season 3, none of the surviving warriors had an opportunity to learn Levi's family name because they were too busy limping away. Maybe Marley remembers the Ackerman family from 100 years ago before they left the mainland or they have titan memories about them. But they're still jumping to a conclusion if they think Levi is an Ackerman.

Reiner has an incomplete armor. He needs a purpose to transform but he doesn’t really want to, he only got back up to save Porco. Kinda remember at the beginning of the series how Eren had an incomplete titan to just fight off that canon with an arm? Kinda like that.
mhh i wouldn't say "he needs a purpose" The incomplete armor comes from reiner's health status. he had no power to transform the armored like it should be.
@@icednauti3292 its more like he lost the will to live, reiner is healthy as fk physically and hasnt fought so far, doesnt make sense for him to not transformed, but mentally he is very weak and titan powers relies alot on ur mental state as well, zeke is older and still transforms fine for comparison
In the last scene, Reiner kinda just half transformed, hence why he has almost no armor Showing. It's kind of symbolic: that Reiner's form is more human looking showing his humanity while Eren's form looks more monstrous since he's losing his humanity. Reiner had to gain his humanity to help protect his allies while Eren had to let go of his humanity to keep moving forward.
God, that whole scene of Pieck’s squad getting slaughtered is QUINTESSENTIAL Gundam. From the flames swallowing them, to their uniforms looking like WWII era flight suites, to the pained final screams before the destruction wipes them away...
@@Phanthief95 i don't see how he was dumbass or how he underestimate an Ackerman. Everything he did was on point
@@lenalouwho4100 Even like that Porco was right, Pieck was wrong. She thought that scout trapped themselves here and with Soldiers coming all they had to do was buy some time and make that Sieg doesn't get slayed. When the Colossal Titan showed up it obvious that the scout had others plan to win, so he decided to beat them by speed so their plan whatever it is falls apart. Even Armin said that if they can't take their guy they have lost. Porco was the only threats to their plan, the unpredictable one, he was ready to kill Eren directly, he also was one who could have prevent them to escape.
Did she say shiganshina in that moment? If she did I missed it but either way I just thought she was bringing up the collateral damage thing that Zeke just pulled in this ep in Liberio again.
Overall reiner & the gang did way more damage than Paradis at this point. Remember that the entire wall Maria was overrun by titans, not just shiganshina. Then the dickheads in the higher ups decided to throw away 100,000 people? If I remember correctly, cuz the foods not enough. Although the nuke seems absolutely terrible here, but its nothing compared to letting hoard of titans into wall Maria. I'd rather have a swift death by a nuke explosion than getting eaten alive by titans.
yeah I was referring to the scene in liberio when zeke just literally threw stones into houses to stretch. but as Hazwan pointed out, the collateral damage in Paradis is immense. It was still hard to watch the aftermath of Armin's transformation
@@Haz1Art Arguably the other way around. This is a biased opinion. You are give whole seasons to view the damage in the perspective of eren and the gang. But here you are only given a few seconds. Cannot compare here with a lack of perspective.
Hey guys, remember that Marley's military leaders were* a bunch of airheads (they're dead now). Take episode 4 as an example: Reiner's valuable intel regarding the Paradis guards' organization surrounding the perimeter on Wall Maria being totally disregarded and mocked. That's also lowkey why Willie Tyber set them up to be annihilated lmao
Something people don’t realize is that just because the warriors are Eldian doesn’t mean they are treated equally. The whole Marley arc was trying to show how incompetent the military institution of Marley is. So even if Reiner tells them to take Paradis seriously they would just ignore him cause they all look down on eldians. That’s why Magath wanted to demolish the power structure because he knows there mentality is leading Marley towards destruction.
Point is don’t conflate the warriors/ Marley eldians with the super power of Marley cause they are just as oppressed as Paradis and other Eldians around the world
@@richardsantanna5398 well people are dicks and they get a kick out of spoiling anime only people. I see that their going through comments liking and commenting on them. Their playing a dangerous game
This season has left me deeply disturbed, and that pit in my stomach gets worse every episode. Call me too empathetic, call me naïve, call me a sucker, but I was frowning throughout this ep with the occasional shocked face. I was happy to see the characters we've been following since s1 in action, but damn this entire situation is so f'd up. I feel like I'm watching a tragic chapter brought to life from our history book without any of the romanticization. It seems like there will be no semblance of a happy ending, not that I was expecting that anyway. I've had to separate myself from the immersion and literally just watch the events unfold as a third party because I cannot attach myself to a side or root for anyone in particular. This conflict is entirely too nuanced and horrible for me personally to do that. This is war. I can't with this show, but I also love this show. One of the greatest stories I've seen in a very long time. Well done Isayama.
I've never consumed a narrative that has made me question my sense of morality as much as this one. I've spent so much time thinking about what I would've done in these characters shoes, or which character's strategy was the best. I wouldn't say I thought that way at this point in the story, since I think there's a lot more depth and context later on , so look forward to that. I think - depending on the ending - this story is definetely something people shoud teach in schools. It's a great conduit for discussing ideas like teleological ethics vs deontological ethics, utilitarianism, pacifism, etc. Which is something a lot of people need to do. I don't think people question their sense of morality enough. Too many people base their morality off of emotional whims as opposed to actual principles. And after watching this show I don't blame them, because consistent principles are very hard to come by in extreme circumstances.
@@insertname485 I so agree with you. Who are we when we are pushed to our extremes, rather, how strong do we hold on to our principles when we are pushed to such extremes? After this episode, I rewatched that scene of Eren talking to Falco, and it hit me wayyy harder after seeing this. Whew...I'm curious how it will end, hopefully, it is satisfying (fingers crossed).
I think its just because the spiked armour looks kinda badass, hence a possible better form, but yes realistically it should be obvious its a weakened form considering he's currently fucked up ahaha
Marley didn't have time to preoccupy with all this. They were in War for 4 years. While Paradis was probably developping weapons and this to fight them; Marley was fighting the the rest of the world. Edit: Come on; what's your problem with Porco? Everything he did was on point if Mikasa wasn't here he would have won. The guy wasn't just talking shit (even tho he mostly said it to Reiner, who is responsable of his brother death, and was right about it cause if Porco was the armored; Marcel would still be alive and be the leader; you can tell that Marcel was better leader than Reiner).
@@sgcastle8389 they were always bullying the world with the titans but then the world caught up by investing in their machinery and weapons....i don't want to spoil nothing here but if they hadn't attacked paradise first then none of it would have happened, you've got other countries even aligning with eldians against them... They got what they deserved imo
With Reiner's transformation at the end, accompanied by the kids scream, it does empathize everything this season is about, showcasing him in such a heroic light. For these kids, they are their hope, their hero, the person they look up to. Now that they are losing everything, including the people they also looked up to - pieck in danger and galliard almost dying by eren - they scream helplessly and desperately to be saved. Idk about everyone else, but at that point i couldnt resist but cheer for Reiner. Just make the killing stop already. Eren already took the warhammer titan anyway, its a major win for paradis, armin destroyed the navy, the plan is working really well. At that point ,i just want Reiner to get over his depression and see that there is still hope in his life in the form of those 2 children whom he must protect, aswell as his comrades in arms who are in danger right now.
It took it being animated for me to realize that his colossal is bonier than Bertholdt's. I knew it was skinnier but damn, I didn't notice it had straight up exposed bones on its neck and chest.
Also if u look closely the expression of Armin and Berthold titan was different, Berthold's titan was like depressing while Armin Titan's like he's just want some peace
@@-Miasimon I believe the size of the transformation explosion plays a part in how meaty the titan is. Armin put a lot into that explosion for max damage so I believe his titan looks thinner as a result of that.
I like how Jean hesitate it kind of a flashback to him not wanting to Kenny's men. But it's also a child and he kind of reflects real life of child soldiers
There is a black person......people forgetting the couple we met at the party. Btw the black guy we met today had a nigerian name, was impressed by that lol.
Thank you i was asking myself about it. Also the couple at party, the woman's name was "Nambia"; this how Trump called the country of *Namibia* by mistake on Television.
She didn't actually say please stop, she simply said you have done things that can't be undone, as in she's upset with him doing that, but at the same time she knows those "innocents" didn't do for no reason.
Dude this episode was insane but also SAD!! I really feel bad for pieck, Galliard and Reiner! It's so crazy that Reiner appears at the end just like a hero to fight the bad guy (EREN!!)
I never thought i'd see the day where i watch you guys react to a show that brings you all to a level of hype that has not been seen since the Game of Thrones days. I never like YT videos, just because, but I "liked" this one just because they asked nicely. Commenting to further push the algorithm. 20k let's get it!
They were fighting a war against humans after the Paradis invasion, they probably do not care to learn about the ODM gear which is geared towards Titan.
Yeah, like what use does the ODM gear has in the trenches and no man’s land without any structure to grapple on, not to mention machine guns rendered it almost useless. The scout chose the battleground and they chose the urban area with buildings
Just to be clear that the whole thing wasn't armin's plan. He just planned for the scout's escape. That's why he blew out the fleets so that marleyans wouldn't chase after them.
As for the 4 years part that you guys mentioned, Marley has been fighting other wars, not just paradis alone so they did not prepare as much as they should be. And the gears that the scouts are using are upgraded and more advanced version of the previous ones so Marley wont know that. Edit One of Iseyama favorite character is Reiner. Yea the poor guy
Jean being a ninja flying through that window.... 💕🐴💗 I never expected attack on titan to progress this way when we started 🤯 It's both shocking & (narratively) impressive. So excited to watch as this unfolds.... 👣🌲🌌
Remember, Magath and Willie talked about Marley having traitors. It explains why they weren't as knowledgeable or prepared for ODM gear. Rewatch these episodes, once you find out. You're already onto the clues / mentioned them
Id disagree with this unless you are saying the entire warrior unit went rouge then that can't be the explanation. Galliard for example had Ymirs memories so he should have seen this coming, Piek knows very well about the ODM gear hence she took extra time to gear up and she lit em up, she knew they would need fuel eventually and was happy to draw the battle out, the Beast titan had no chance because Levi.
@@katlehorakgosi1957 yet, who amongst them would be able to shape Marley's response? Spoilers ....... ....... ....... ....... ....... ....... ....... ....... Zeke is the traitor. He is also the War Chief in charge of that mission.Dude never brought back that ODM gear he seized and downplayed everything to his superiors. Look back at a few episodes ago. When planning the next attack on Paradis, they asked Reiner about what the best way to attack from would be and mid sentence, cut him off because "There's no point to in asking an Eldian" but they were glad to listen to Zeke. Pieck wasn't around them all that much to really get into how they fight enough to prepare a counter. She was in ONE battle. Memories aren't 100% you get flashes, bits, pieces, etc... when you inherit a titan, so Galliard wouldn't be helpful enough. Reiner was the only real person, besides Zeke, knowledgeable enough.... and he was conflicted about the things he had done and was traumatized/ready to move on. Much like how he didnt really criticize the Eldians at his dinner table, I don't think he wanted more conflict with them. During that meeting, when they asked the best route of attack, he gave excuses for why all four directions were bad ideas.. he didn't want to bring them more suffering (just as much as he wanted praise from his people...conflicted) or to face them again. Remember, this is the guy ready to blow his braisnnout, thanks to guilt. But again, only Zeke had enough stroke to shape policy
Man that last scene where it was all silent except for Gabbi and Falco screaming out to Reiner gave me chills. Really felt the desperation of the situation, the voice actors killed it.
