Attack on Titan END Credits EXPLAINED... 

I think that scene was just one more example about the inevitable cycle of life repeating itself over and over again.

That ending scene was so emotional, you realize the whole show was just one time of this infinitely repeating cycle of destruction. Honestly got me crying the first time I saw it lol.

My theory was that worm can give you any godlike abilities based on your desires, just like how ymir wanted to be big and powerful, hence gaining titan powers. It may be different this time

I’m a huge fan of the fact that this is very ambiguous, perfect way to end a story like this. You can’t just have it end where everything is just certain. I think it’s fair to think that this has the god power, but it is also is not confirmed. It reminds me of endings of some of my favorite films like Inception or No Country for Old Men

I think something will happen. But I don’t think it will necessarily be titans. Titans we’re probably unique to Ymir and the shifters were unique to her descendants

never thought about it, but damn dude, you're right. All these paths, sand, 13 years of life of the shifter titans - all this was invented by Ymir. Then indeed, this parasite does not turn you into titans, it turns you into anything. It would be cool to see a continuation of the story with this guy from the end of the credits and see who people would now turn into with his help

1:57 I agree. That makes sense. That's the reason why Ymir was trapped in the path because she wanted help king Fritz to grow his empire. On the other hand Eren wanted to wipe the whole Titan thing. That's why after Eren's death that thing moved on and waiting for another host.

The power of the titans was never destroyed. It was just that Ymir decided to stop.. the entity itself still existed.. And since it was attatched to Erens head for some time it makes sense that some form of that entity was still there after death.. Like we didn't see the giant blue worm creature die.. it just disapeared after.

My reaction was totally like ☠️☠️. I've had enough from this bloodshed & they're repeating the deadly cycle again and again.

It was explained during a dialogue in one episode that life comes after death in an unending cycle. The death of Eren and the titans gave life for hundreds of years (as seen in the credit scene). They started another war bringing countless death. The last scene is the next cycle of life.

I think it does resemble like ymir however the boy and the dog were calm and curious unlike ymir so the outcome of what's to come will be different

I think you’re wrong. Isayama doesn’t really have a bad image about humanity. The story is about “the cruel but beautiful world” so is not only the bad is also the good about it. That’s why is more of an open ending. It may be back, in a good or bad way or is just not coming back at all. Because the titan was created because ymir was scared and wanted to survive. Also Let’s not forget Ymir was runny away chased by dogs while the kid was going in with the dog and didn’t look like he was suffering either.

No Zeke explains why Ymir takes the form of her titan. She was afraid of dying so she made the biggest and most invincible body she had. And then she escaped into a world without death after getting pierced by the spear. The idea being that the creature in the tree is some kind of genie that grants you what your heart desires. Any power you want. So the kid at the end could literally take any form he wanted. It doesn’t mean he would turn into a titan.

The parasite tentacle bug worm is like the unicorn gundam and its sister gundams, Banshee and Phenex. The unicorn gundam is literally the beast of possibilities that could save humanity and destroy humanity itself. The parasite tentacle bug worm can do the same thing and has some similarities. They both need a host that is strong enoungh to bring the possibilities out and other host that are not compatible with it tend to die off due to the extreme powers that they can not fully control. In gundam unicorn, it takes a true newtype to control the unicorn freely, and in AoT, it takes a person with a big enough dream to use the founding titan's power. A regular newtype can use the unicorn gundam but it needs another newtype to do that to unlock its possibility, just like how royal blood works in AoT for the founding titan's powers to be able to be used. I can put more information on here, but that'll take a lot of brain power and all i can say is that the information given proves the theory of AoT being a mecha anime.

There are two important differences, while ymir was running away for his life, this time the boy seems safe and only curious about the tree, i think this is determinant to what's happening next, but probably titans will never come back because there were linked exclusive to ymir circunstances.

Also if you watch the bottom left portion of the screen when the boy & his dog are in front of the tree, you can see a small centipede come into view and turn it's head towards them as they enter. Very subtle, but I promise if you watch closely, you will see it too. The organism looks like it's been waiting...

Plot twist : the ending is actually a depiction of an apocalypse universe in adventure time wherein finn and jake finds the tree containing the worm that acts like the wish crown of ice king.

I don’t think the titans are back in a traditional form. Maybe the boy/girl got lead to that place by chance, and the power of the founder will be used again to build a new world. The fact Isayama left it up to interpretation just makes the story all that more captivating.

The ending theme is called: To you in 2000.. or 20000 years. Yes you have understood that right, that kid received memories from Eren to seek the tree for various reasons: 1- because Eren said that Eldia after killing 80% of the world will not be 100% safe, people will fight back again against them. 2- how can a random kid from we don't know where reach that very specific tree, and he looked as if he was desperately looking for that tree, because obviously, he wouldn't know about some random tree in some random deserted island if he wasn't told about it. 3- the title of the theme, it's as clear as the sun.

I wa very emotional after the ending seing everyone live their lives and see time pass and the world evolve but the ending really got me thinking the show can really go on if that boy is some of the main characters grand children

Titans are basically portable Gundams.

Its my theory, but the song at the end credits is called "In 2000 years or...20000 yeard from now" so that kid is living 18000 years after the rumbling happened and 20000 if you include Ymir's timeline, so my theory is that just like how Ymir died but is in stuck in the paths sending Eren meories by saying "to you 2000 years from now" since she was the founding titan, Eren is also stuck in the paths and sending some kind of memory to that kid by "20000 from now" so his memories or something like that might help that kid when he becomes the next founding titan because Isayama intentionally showed us that scene to indicate that the cycle of conflict keep going on, this kid will once again become the titan and things would keep going on and on and that is how we understand that kid might become the next founding titan and Eren is sending some kind of help by doing the same thing as Ymir did. Its crazy even though its just a silly theory and I wish its was true and Isayama makes a story about that boy but its fine because the ending was perfect in its own way because aot was never about rainbows and power of friendship, it was about real-life experiences and news, I love how they finally are finnaly free and lived long lives.

my theory is that trhe "life parasite" is millions of years old and this cycle has happend hundreds of times over milliona of years, titans happening and ending humanity rising and getting destroyed then someone finding the parasite again restarting it and we only saw one small story out of hundreds or even thousands

I dont think its necessary titan power. The parasyte made ymir so huge because thats what she wished for. If the kid just wants to have insane muscle strength, then he is just gonna become an ackermann. If the kid wants to become really small, then thats probably whats gonna be his power. The titans were a result of ymirs imagination as you said. And i think that they were that in their entirety, not just their form, but the concept of titans originated completely from ymirs consciousness also i dont think that the worm survived. Sure the tree was insanely huge but we see the parasytes dead body. In anime that is usually a confirmation that something is 100% dead. I think its just symbolism since isayama likes to use it a lot no matter how abstract (i mean, a bird wouldnt really wrap a scarf around somebody irl too)

Imagine aot becomes like avatar where it develops substories and explores other perspectives. Id love it. Like a prequel, explore maybe ymirs daughters lives, each of the nine titans predecessors get like an episode or two about their most important obstacles. Stuff like that. Maybe an afterlife episode where we see characters who died way early on all reunited either the main crew. Idk. I love this show so much 🥹

I honestly somewhat disagree I think it's more about the cycle continuing but the titans themselves are gone cuz that weird worm thing was detached from eren and like fizzled out in the final fight. The point being more about the cycle starting again in some form, or you could even see it as the cycle being broken in a way cuz this kid is gonna go to the tree and there's not gonna be a titan power for him to get and instead there's the graves of people who wanted to end suffering all together

I believe it is explained that the reason for titans existing is because of ymirs desire to survive after being terrified of being murdered after being chased by dogs. In this new scene we see a free boy with his dog exploring the world, theirfore the things this boy desires are completely different to that of ymir's in this situation. So no I don't think theirs any reason for titan powers to return.

I think the last scene is to signify that what happened before will probably happen again, but it's not really about the ending isn't really the titan powers being back more about us not learning anything.

But worm kun, a parasite, died when Eren, the host, was killed. Unless there were more around, which is NEVER hinted at once. To say that it survived somehow or that some new age of whatever comes from it would be a bit of a disservice to Eren’s sacrifice and all the countless lives that it took to end this cycle.

imo i dont think the titans are back. But the power that gave Ymir the ability is back. The only reason titans became a thing was because Ymir wanted a big, strong and immortal body which manifested as her titan form. Zeke explained this during his conversation with Armin. Personally I think Eren is now in the same situation as Ymir was. Eren is now trapped in different realm similar to the paths but instead in this place he's trying to find a solution to create eternal peace/freedom. The reason for this is because of what he said in the end credit song. "2000 years... or... To you 20,000 years from now..." which imo is him sending a message to the child heading into the tree. Honestly really like your take on this too.
