The concept of ODM gear for fighting the Titans is one of the most brilliant parts of the AoT world. I can't get enough of the characters buzz-zipping around during Titan fights. Multi-segment, ejectable swords with gun grips. Extra blades in a quiver. The most unbelievable part of that system is the gas for thrust, but the whole idea is plain awesome.

Reiner goes "5 years ago we destroyed the walls and began our attack on humanity" and the camera suddenly pans to Hange talking about how the absence of a hole in the wall is more startling than finding the hole. It's almost like Reiner went off script and the show was continuing as it should have.

It didn’t just feel like a journey it at times felt like I was watching history being made. Like, you know how your young and think the world is black and white and simple but when you start to grow up you start to realize that it is much more complicated than that. Same thing that happens with the characters. This series has given me an experience that not even some of my favorite manga series has given me. The best experience for AOT is your first time because you literally just have no idea what could happened. Attack on Titan has also impacted my life. The last thing I’ll say is this, I was able to rewatch watch all of AOT for the third time front to back. One thing people overlook that makes AoT so great is the soundtrack. Good music for points of drama, sadness, action, etc can make or break a series. WIT studios also launched his idea into the mainstream with their great adaptation. All the ingredients came together to make something so great that was never really seen before in the anime world. At least not to that level of popularity to even people who normally don't watch anime. Some of the best world building of any story ever told. I've seen a lot of anime and only a few come close. People fell in love with the characters being very memorable and much more than one dimensional that most series run with. It's even fair to say that AoT beats most live action shows because you can't translate most of what happens into a live action adaptation and it just works so well in anime form, but the story makes most everything else seem lackluster.

I hope it isn’t lost in Isayama how much he has affected all of us that have been on this journey with him for the last 10 years. It’s been so bittersweet and beautifully, no PERFECTLY executed!! When I read the manga and saw the changes in perspective of Eren, who we have loved and followed since day one, I really thought I was going to hate watching it on the screen but honestly the anime and the manga somehow seem to set two different tones or at least for me, and now having watched season 4 three different times, I can say if we were the characters that were by his side this entire time, it would be incredibly hard to go against Eren the way they ended up doing. So so good in every way, every emotion felt through such vivid story telling and story BOARDING, I mean it’s obvious on a rewatch (and helps that Isayama has said himself he knew how the whole story would roughly go from day one and it truly shines through during a rewatch just how connected this story is. He didn't make plans *if the Yaegerists tried to kill them for treason*, which could've happened as well... When Armin asked whether Eren did it for their sake (be it for the island or his friends), Eren straight up refused to answer, just like he refused to say anything when Falco accused him of manipulating people for his own gain. Moments from the beginning of the story were able to connect and overlap with the end, something that doesn’t happen often in stories. I feel like S02 Episode 10 should be brought out more, Ymir's story was the first time next to Reiner that really sold me on just how deep some of these characters go. Ymir is such an underrated character that perfectly portraits a human, not firmly placed on the Good or bad side, but honestly selfish due to her past, and honestly selfless when she can't help but feel pity and the urge to help someone that was just like her. Historia and Ymir's relationship is probably one of my favorite pairings of characters in a show ever, it's such a deep interesting bond between them and them being just two side characters made it all the more stunning

Many characteristics about AOT have been praised already, but my absolute favorite is how the story keeps telling you that nothing is absolute. In one moment you like Reiner, on the other you hate him. For 3 season you follow Eren, and in the next you question his actions. When you feel strong about your decisions, something in the story comes out that makes you think about your own ideals, the limits of your moral. I'll never forget when the Erwin-Armin decision was presented in the manga. All of us were shocked, we thought both have died. And then, you were presented with the possibility of saving one of them... just one. It was brutal, we were left for an entire month discussing who was the better choice, who had the best potential to accomplished the humanity survival. And after the decision was made, in the next episode, we discovered the world's truth, we didn't know what to say, we just kept reading, trying to understand what happened. I never experienced something like that before, and it was awesome.

Watching this I just realised, that the King wasn’t bluffing when he said that if the peace between Marley & Paradis was interrupted, then the Rumbling would occur, if the King has Eren’s memories, then he would know that eventually Marley would make a move on Paradis, thus disrupting the peace & setting off a chain of events eventually leading to the Rumbling destroying Marley. The self-imposed block on the trigger could be to prevent any preemptive use of the Rumbling so as to not break the King’s word, & only cause the Rumbling in retaliation.

considering how Founding Titan supposed to have past, present and future memories flow all at once at the same time, its could be possible. This video was amazing! Honestly I got so sucked into it that I almost forgot it was just 16 minutes. I experienced it like a full on documentary it was phenomenal. I really agree with your take on the present state of Eren as I often see people forgetting how much he has been through. The point of the story is not to analyze a time traveling kid or a titan fight but to understand the complexity of human nature and the desire to be free. To be alive! The writer has focused a lot on some heavy topics like the destruction of war (is there really a winner?) and death and I really liked the approach he made. One of the things you can really experience through the series is the pain and suffering of the characters that just want to live a simple life but life keeps hitting them with more and more problems. The series has really been something special to me and I don't think anything new will top it anytime soon
