@@chiragujjodi5469 If only, the epilogue about the island being bombed to ashes is the only good part about the ending. The last arch leading up to the end was really not thought through very well and is the worst thing about AoT.

@@Gogeata4 Which part of what I said would you like me to explain? In summary, I am just mentioning that the series lacked any element of tragedy because of what I would describe as bad writing.

@@thenecromancer8805 The part about choice eliminating the sense of tragedy. Can you point out a few examples.

​@@Gogeata4 If we are talking about the tragedies of ancient Greece (Alcestis) or Shakesphere (hamlet), often the tragic end is forshadowed by telling the audience a characters fatal flaw or the fate prophisied to doom him or her. So the audience already knows the reason the hero will fall in the end, and really it's a matter of how or why it comes to be that makes the story tragic. The audience knows either the why or the how, but not the other which leads the audience to want to know more. In the case of AoT, the protagonist is aware of the outcome which removes any element of tragedy since the character at any point in time could make a choice that avoids the outcome. It's not tragic if the tragedy could be easily avoided and the protagonist is aware of this, hence the problem with the protagonist having a choice. A choice that comes off as forced by the plot rather than what makes sense for the characters and story.
