Thank you GJ. Again you present a video with a refreshing theme. I am now on the FIDE rating about 1850 too because that you gave me an energy and inspiration how to play. I obtained this rating in the righteous short time of the last season before COVID lockdown.

AT 4:20 why is white concerned about a doubled pawn? If black wants to waste a tempo and give white the bishop pair then white should be very happy because in addition after gxf3 he also gets extra support for a e4 push. And if white IS worried about double pawns then Bg5 followed by Nbd2 seems a better way to go about it. If black kicks with f6 then Bh4 is wonderful, intending Bg3 killing black's other bishop. Besides, f6 blocks the best square for his king knight. I think 5.e3 is way too passive and that 5.Bg5 leaves black hard pressed to find compensation.
@rikkikarrylmabayo2504
@rikkikarrylmabayo2504 3 года назад
You don't actually capture the knight at that position. As you can see the other followup moves are both knight moves. However, not opening e2 pawn would mean white bishop will be trapped for a time which will give you an advantage. Eitherway, this game is a model game played by GMs so he can't really change the move order.
@ravenlord4

@@rikkikarrylmabayo2504 That's my point -- the reasoning at 4:20 is bad.

@@pranadheer Right. Clear, logical development of the position with a few entertaining 'bams' thrown it for effect. I particularly like his refutation of the Evans Gambit. In that one I don't remember the bams, but I do remember the logic. Think I'll watch it again today to see if I've missed something. Some logic I mean. The bam takes care of itself...

Hello Sir, I have been playing chess for a 8 years but Never seriously. I just try to control center in the opening ( don't know any openings further than 4/5 moves deep ), develop my minor pieces then castle and try to get the rooks connected. I struggle to find/calculate good moves in middle game and in if it goes to Endgame I lose 8/10 times. Even of I am a piece up/ pawns up but can't find the best continuation and lose on time. Can you please suggest what should I do as to STEP by STEP IMPROVE?

@justanotheryoutubechannel3102
Thanks for this video that I HOPE is easier to create a tree from than Chess Academy's video where I learned about this AWESOME, (way more sexy than the main line to me!) way to stop slavwalling without fianchettos with a truly gorgeous 2x semi open files (I hate pawns! get them out of the way! that's why I hated the stonewall since around 00. OMG the bishop pair lined up on king's castle makes me want to play this RIGHT NOW! such development against 1.d4 is unheard of in ANY begging and pleading for EXACTLY this opening I already love... just watching it dance. I'm just starting YOUR video and have some basic database sifting that might be corrupted from getting confused about move orders trying to follow the CA video. Where I hate the 1.e4 d5, the "unsound" englund > hartlaub/charlick looks like it was made just for me! no joke! benko, benoni & indians etc are worse looking than the at least SUPER FAMILIAR stonewall straightjacket because the onlt thing i might hate more than ALL pawns is either side of a fianchetto. I'm hoping you show move lists or maybe posted the theory in the description. I don't want to waste another day trying to cobble a quick start pamphlet and drill it. I so wanna play this! *SUBBED!*

Hello, I love your videos they help me discover new tactics all the time. I was wondering tho, at 7:36, why wouldn't white play g3 after h5? The blacks light square bishop is already gone.
@rikkikarrylmabayo2504
@rikkikarrylmabayo2504 3 года назад
I think because its a model game and that is the move the players got into. Otherwise, I think pawn to h4 move dismantles king position. You cant capture the pawn because it opens up the line of defense as well as rook recapture would make a lot of mating threats and you cant let the pawn be captured because the same problems will happen(rook free reign in g3, bishop staring at g2).

Hello, Sir. I love this awesome counter attacking opening against d4. but sir in some of my games, many players plays Nf3 and Bg5 when I plays Nc6. I always got confused after that, and I even lost my many games due to that. I request you to Kindy cover this line also (d4 e5, dxe5 d6, Nf3 Nc6, Bg5). Sir I always loses in this position kindly explain the plans and ideas in this line also. Please sir.... Thank you!
