These are good moves for 'the white' against a solid defence of 'the black'. On a serious note! All of your videos have been extremely helpful to me! Thank you for sharing your chess insights!

I like the joy you bring in, playing these attacking games , many are blitz as you said I enjoy watching these videos , without a certain daring one keeps on defending.

Hm that does sound like a great plan, better than the usual h5 that is played. And rybka and houdini likes it very much. And i see that after Qg4 f7 Qf4 that black will most likely play c5 which allows white quick development after Bb5+ followed by getting the knights to c3 and e2 and 0-0 giving white nice development and ready to assault the somewhat loosened center black made. Thank you, this system looks so fun to play and will give it a try my next caro-kann game.

Gunjan, this is another great lesson.. very helpful, i assure you that 70 % of my enemies' Caro-Kann defence follow these moves... i used to take that bishop with my queen but now i can see that there is another tricky capture that i must add into my knowledge.. thank you !!

This is a great video and love the ideas. One quick question though: I was wondering how you would react to black playing 6. ... f6, intending to tuck the bishop in on f7 and play Qb6 followed by c5, instead of black responding with h5?

Qg4 on move 12 produces a couple of good mate lines in response to the 6. h4 h5 line...a better gambit in this case would be 7. Be2 Be7 8. Bxh5 Bxh5 9. Nxh5 g6 10. Nf4 Rxh4 11. Rxh4 Bxh4 12. Qg4 wherein the knight on f4 takes on either e6 or g6 (Nfxe6 or Nfxg6)... ;)

At around 9 mins in the video, GJ, you made 2 consecutive black moves. You moved the black King, explained how black was in a precarious position and then moved the black pawn on the C file! Not sure how you can correct this.

1.e4,c6 2.d4,d5 3.e5,c5 4.dxc5,Nc6 5.Bb5,e6 6.b4- black has 6...a5! and white's queenside disintegrates

sir GJ, i would like to ask you, what respond should white do if @6:18 black move is Qc3 threatening white d3 pawn and pinning the knight at d2 i thought my best move as white is Qb3 to equalize black queen move but i'm not quite sure. thx

I believe you are thinking of the sicilian najdorf you are mixing up the move order a little its e4 c5 Nf3 d6 d4 cxd4 Nxd4 Nf6 Nc3 then black plays a6 its a variation of the open sicilian

And if he plays c5 after h4?
@esanplustin
@esanplustin 8 лет назад
"And if he plays c5 after h4?" It has been known since Bronstein-Botvinnik, USSR championship 1966, that after 6.h4 h5 7.Be2, ...c5 is black's best move. Your comment is the only mention of that here. Of course playing 6...c5 would cost black's bishop. Note if 8.dxc5 Bxc5 9.Bxh5 Bxh5 10.Nxh5 g6 11.Nf4 Rxh4

why does queen need to keep contact with the bishop? (6:48). He is losing it anyways. I tried this system and my opponent never brought out his bishop, and when i attacked his queen with Rab1, he played it to a3 (rather than taking pawn on a2), which made my pawn on d3 vulnerable. The game went as follows... 1.e4 c6 2.d4 d5 3.e5 Bf5 4.Ne2 e6 5.Ng3 Bg6 6.h4 h6 7.h5 Bh7 8.Bd3 Bxd3 9.cxd3 Ne7 10.O-O Qb6 11.Be3 Qxb2 12.Nd2 b6 13.Qg4 Nd7 14.Rab1 Qa3 15.f4 Qxd3 16.Rbe1 c5 17.f5 exf5 18.Nxf5 Nxf5 19.Rxf5 cxd4. At that point I felt I was surely behind and went on to lose the game. How to you recommend dealing with this type of situation. Thanks for the awesome video!
