I did this a few years ago. I had an older monogram cosmetic pouch that was very easy to get the hardware through. My newer DE cosmetic pouch I gave up on, lol. I didn't want to damage the bag and it was much stiffer which made me nervous. I have to get out the hardware again and try. My 2 year old uses the monogram one as a purse. I have a few different straps for her but you need to put items in it so it won't hang funny.

I love repurposing a LV that’s sitting in a drawer and not being used. That’d be a great evening bag. I hope we can all get out for an evening soon. My bags have had a lack of use in the last year. Great video.
Ooooo the chunky short gold chain 😍 LOVE! Even if you let the small one hang while also clipping on the long chain for the actual strap. Maybe im reaching lol but that trend is definitely still around
I bought a similar pouch from the YK collection and wasn’t able to get the d-rings through - the leather tabs are stitched way too tight. I got too nervous about damaging the leather after a while and gave up.
That is an epic improvement! It works perfectly. I would not even have thought it possible to get the DRings through those tiny holes. That is definitely something I would do. Thank you for the video. Have a fabulous day!
Do you think using the GM size pouch. Would mess up where you put the D ring? Or that it would tear the leather away from the bag? I love this ideal and I don’t carry a lot in my bags. I have back problems and tend to carry smaller bags.

Great minds think alike! I bought D-rings from Mélodie the other day also. I’m going to turn my Speedy 30 into a cross body using the same method putting the D-rings through the vachetta loops that holds the handles. Got the tracking that it’s been shipped so can’t wait to try it out. 🤗
If it works for you I’m happy for you but I preferred not to altered my LV pieces. I have seen other RU-vidrs do the same. I made a video about my cosmetic pouch and I mentioned how some people turned them into mini bags. I’m just afraid the weight from the bag will make the taps snapped and damaged my canvas, I still find the video good.
I saw the same video you did and ordered the d rings from DUYP too. I couldn’t get my rings through but never thought about using tne screwdriver to push it through I think the person who posted it used a small awl to push through but I don’t have one , thanks for sharing this , I will try again .
The first time you put the rod through the loop I was saying (out loud!) 'No, no, no, put the D ring loop on first!' Yes, I talked to the video! That is a very attractive option - glad you had more luck than poor Gwenny trying to squeeze that D ring onto her Noe pouch. I was so bummed for her when it didn't work.
This is a pretty good idea. It's not for me though. The tipping would drive me nuts! And, cosmetic pouches of this size are way too small for me to use as a bag.

My friend worked for LV back in the nineties and she told me that they use to give little toiletry bags for free with bigger purchases and the word got around and people started to come in wanting to purchase one. LV didn’t allow it but finally gave in due to demand and started to sell them which was a very smart move. I don’t know which one it was but as far as I remember it was kind of envelope shape type.
