Same! I have a handbag that basically looks like a very fancy ice bucket (LOL). I'd probably just carry the vanity case as is but use it like a handbag. But not with a chain or strap or anything. Just me holding the vanity case around. IDK. That's about as much as I can do. I'm too traditional I guess.

@@SL-lz9jr I agree, \the Dior lipstick case set definitely looks more like a clutch and i bought it for that purpose. This vanity case looks like a vanity case when there's a chain on it so i would prefer to carry it with the handle. You can check out my Gucci lipstick case/clutch if you like on my channel

I really like this idea and actually, Coach has a bag in the market for a while now called the Trial Bag that is exactly this concept. much cheaper as well and with it's vintage brown color is just beautiful

coach makes a bag called the "Trail bag" that i always thought looked like a lunch box or a vanity case too, I know that's not in the same league but definitely an option if people want something a bit more affordable.

Excellent point concerning the Coach Trail bag. It is the most affordable option for vanity case fans. Steve Vevers for Coach is doing an amazing job with Coaches latest collections. Truly something for all handbag lovers @ all price points. I respect that.

I don’t quite like the look... It really just looks exactly like what it is... a vanity case on a strap. It kinda reminds me of the LV toiletry bags that everyone uses as a clutch. For one, they still just look like toiletry bags. And secondly, to me it just screams “this was the only thing that I could afford that kind of resembles a bag”.

Stick with your original idea and you will attain your goal; a real designer bag no matter what the brand is.

I'm shocked , I wouldn't have thought of wearing a vanity case until watching your video, but I really like how your Dior case looks, and can imagine any of the others looking just as lovely (apart from the really big Louis Vuitton case, that I think would look a bit too big) I don't own any of these vanity cases, my bag collection is very small, but I would for sure consider buying a vanity case to use as a bag, especially when saving two thirds the price. Loved these comparisons. My favorite is the Gucci. Its affordable...durable...gives good vintage vibes...plus the entire underside of the top has a mirror....its on my radar. I would definitely carry it as a bag!🤗

I have 3 designer bags (all of which are vintage as my finances have changed dramatically and can never afford an up to date luxury bag now) this is a very affordable way to own something new. Definitely no shame here because as you have just shown here, these companies are now making a nice profit by selling vanity case handbags when all one has to do is simply buy the vanity case and a strap/chain. Brilliant video with an excellent 👌🏻 idea 💡, Dear Sophie! I’m not personally a huge fan of vanity cases in general, but in this moment they are particularly worth your money 💰. Especially for Brands as Chanel which are usually in the high end expensive range. And in the worst case scenario, if not wearing it as a ‘normal’ bag 💼, you can always use it for travelling 🧭 as this is what they are originally made for! Great comparison video. I really like the thick woven texture of the Dior Vanity Case. That quality makes a huge difference now in the decision making process of choosing a vanity case/purse. Really interesting video - thanks! The Nice mini was £460 and then they just put it up to £555! Just over 20% increase! But then they say it’s out of stock everywhere and limited edition so no more will be available - so why do a price increase and still have on the website. I just feel they are making fools out of their customers. I think the Gucci ones are a good buy instead.

I think it's a good idea. I believe the smaller vanity cases are more in keeping with a women's frame. I liked the Gucci in black leather. I also liked the smaller LV versions. I have fallen in love with the new LV Vanity PM handbag but it is pricey! This was a very good video showing comparison between the vanities!⚘

I bought my LV Nice ( the city in France ) BB last year, sold out everywhere but they had it in Selfridges Manchester. My SA John was thoroughly tickled as I styled it to be a handbag with twilly and gold chains and an LV lock. At the time, he warned me that it is not designed as a carry bag and to be careful of damage from the weight . Am stumped at the LV PM Vanity release for a whopping 1000 quid more. Even with the carry on reinforcements added, that is sheer robbery! But they are all thieving us and we let them 😊 I love your Dior vanity. May you wear it in good health always. You are so right! I purchased a Prada nylon bucket bag for $395 at Neimans. Afterwards, I saw the bucket bag in nylon for $990. It had almost identical dimensions. My thought was, what gives? Turns out my bag is missing the front pocket and has a wristlet strap instead of a crossbody strap. Prada calls it a "pouch"; Neimans called it a bucket bag. I noticed this trend pop up last year with the Louis Vuitton Cannes bag....I was ( & still am😃) on the hunt for a vintage one but I keep getting side tracked bc I keep adding something else to my handbag list....just can't seem to stay focused LOL 🤪... Side note Sophie, as a new subscriber I really enjoy your channel and not just the hand bag talk....you have real pleasant gift for gab regarding other real world applications...keep up the good work!👍🏾

I totally think you're right and it's a great idea for getting more bag for your money, however, unfortunately it's just not a bag style that goes with my personal style. Go for it if it goes with your look though, it's great for everyone to rock what they love!

Hello! I know I’m years late for this convo BUT I want to say the difference between the LV Nice BB and the largest LV Vanity size is night and day-NOT just the strap. The Vanity has a HARD top and HARD bottom. It’s way bigger and heavier than the BB. It’s a true, old-school vanity case. The strap is because it can be incredibly heavy once it’s filled with toiletries! Thanks for a wonderful review!

the cd vanity bag looks a tad big on u but if it’s a bit smaller it def will look really good! love the research u’ve done on vanity bags and def it’s pique my interest to try one out in future if chanel has more variety of colors 🤟🏻

Now that u have use it to compare to the price of a handbag, I think it only make sense to carry the vanity case as a cross body bag. Thanks for the enlightening video Sophie 😍😍
