You had to 'fight' with your hair for a while (haha) but the results are lovely, dear. But I'm truly a 'straight hair' kind of guy; I like the long, sleek lines so overall I prefer your regular look but this was a fun diversion.😊

you always have some volume despite having such long hair (which I'm sure can way your hair down). how do you style your hair after washing to ensure you have volume? My hair is to my waist but when it dries is flat on top & so much body...

Pro tip (from a licensed cosmetologist and a curly girl whose grown up using flexi-rods) ROLL THE RODS IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION OF YOUR FACE. Curling towards your face is going to give you “church curls” while going away from your face is much more flattering and opens your face more ❤️🥰
@holistichabits

thank you so much for this tip!! 💕🙏

Yes! Also - if you “piggyback” instead of using one rod per curl, you’ll get more even curl the whole length instead of wavy/straight near the scalp and all the curl at the bottom. To piggyback, you start halfway and roll the half closest to the scalp first, then roll the end on a second rod. If you use a setting spray instead of just water, it will help grab the curl, and will stay longer. My hair is not as long as yours, it’s hip length, but it’s stupid thick. I’m not a cosmetologist anymore but as a long hair sister, these things work for me! They work with heat too, like curling iron etc though I know you don’t use those!

You look so classy in that hairstyle and outfit! I stopped styling my hair, let alone attempting to curl it, when it was down to my tail bone. Now it's down to my knees. I sleep with my hair in a braid and when I braid my hair while it's still a bit damp, the waves last for 30 minutes or so. So I don't even bother trying to achieve curls or anything. But to be honest, I love my hair the way it naturally is. I'm just grateful to have healthy long hair.

Let me join u guys well I’m not a knee length but my hair is about to reach it , And u guys r right the best way to get beautiful curls is by braiding ur hair and a plus point on that u stay away from heat damages ☺️✨

@@d.m.w.m3745 Thank you for your message. I would never use heat on my hair as you rightfully say it will damage the hair. Again love my hair naturally. I do a lot of loose braids which helps me maintain my hair healthy. Good luck with your growth to knee length. Is your hair straight and thick.

Sarah!! It’s beautiful!! But I know those rods HURT to sleep on. A few tips I found helpful-no oils-the oils create slip and the curl will fall. I found this out and while I rarely curled my hair (it was about tailbone length), I did find this helped me for the few events I wanted curls for. Smaller sections is key. I found the larger sections just didn’t stay for me. Have you tried rag curls? Those aren’t hard-pin curling your hair would take about 1000 pins and even more hours to do that, but rag curls are quite easy-well, you have to cut up bits of old fabric, but they are more comfortable to sleep in. Also, sponge curlers will give you the best curl, but when I did it, I looked like Shirley Temple come morning :D Your pant suit is STUNNING -love this look. Thanks for sharing!

The curls looked good. I know how you feel. I have extremely long hair too. My grandma had hair all the way to the floor. She used a braided piece of hair and turned her head over to the floor and rolled it up to the base/ nape of the neck. Mom said she had sheets of waves when she brushed her hair out. I use braids to put style in my hair but the humid weather here in the south is so horrible that I usually just shampoo and air dry my hair and wear it in a ponytail or bun. Thanks for sharing your time.

The only way I can get my hair to "curl" is actually a braid wave type style. My hair is very thick so when its wet, I use Pink Lustre Hair Lotion then braid my hair. I leave it braided until its fully dry (usually the next day). When i take the braids out my hair is nicely curly/wavy.

Such beautiful curls! I understand why it isn’t something you’d want to do all the time though. It’s a lot of work! I just had 5 inches cut off my hair and it was down to my waist. I didn’t want to, but I’m going away for a year and I know I won’t be able to get my haircut often while I’m gone because I’ll be living fairly remotely off the grid. However that gives me time to grow it out healthy and still be able to manage it. Have a beautiful day!

I have long hair (not quite as long as yours) & I accentuate my waves with mousse / texture spray & gel and using the scrunching rechqiue when wet. Lots of trial and error but I much prefer the waves lasting then sleeping in the flexible rods haha I only use them when I want fancy curls they do last for me but Ive always sprayed my hair with a sugar based homemade hair spray or spray with texture spray before curling it helps them last and are super curly but it sucks to sleep in

Plz give some tips I want to grow my hair out
@krystal1119
@krystal1119 Год назад
@Ameil Nasir it honestly depends on your genes, but there are a few things that can help.. *your typical mistakes that is a nono* : don't rub your hair in a towel or anything at all, just gently squeeze excess water using an old t shirt, airdry until your hair is 80%-90% dry and use a hair dryer after don't do tight hairstyles, this is a big no no, if you do ballet like me or any type of sport/activity that needs your hair up, do a crown braid or a dutch braid into a bun/ponytail/or whatever using a coil hair tie or a scrunchie instead of those fabric ones. don't scratch your head , If this is something you can't resist, atleast try to reduce the scratching. *things you should do* : oil treatments help, oils help to grow your hair so if you tend to have greasy hair the next day after a wash, you won't be needing oil treatments, but if you don't have an oily scalp then try applying hair oil 2-3 times a week and try to experimenting what works best for you, the oils I recommend for hair growth is Castor Hair Oil, Olive Hair Oil, Coconut Hair Oil.. remember that some of the oils I mentioned above may not work for your hair type, please do research on your hair type and see which oil is suitable.. if you don't know how to wash off the oil, here's my best one, dilute your shampoo in a cup or whatsoever, don't wet your hair just put it directly and you can use a hair scalp scrub if you want, after that you can wash off your hair, if you want to shampoo your hair again, you can do that. do hair masks, find one on youtube, they tend to help grow 1 inch in a week SOMETIMES. when you're about to sleep, brush your hair (exceptions if your hair doesn't work well with brushing) and put it in a loose braid, use a ribbon or a scarf. get your hair trimmed, or atleast cut 1 cm.. this will not help hair growth but help your hair look thick aka your ends to be thick, if you don't do this, your ends will usually be thin and you gotta restart all over again.. I've seen a lot of people not doing this and their ends are usually thin when they reach their length goal, please don't make this mistake! now if you're asking if super fast hair growth are real.. Yes they are, families with long hair have secrets and they don't want you to know that! neither do I want people to know ours..

How do you go from bangs to layers? 😱 SMH
@zenbrooklyn
@zenbrooklyn Год назад
Tips fom a curl rod lover: 1: Smaller sections & more rods 2: MORE PRODUCT! That was the main thing missed. I suggest mousse or setting foam to get your hair EVENLY saturated for more defined results. 3: pay attention to the ends as you roll* *There are a ton of videos on here demonstrating how to get the ends properly tucked. Your best curls were the ones that had those boxes checked. And it's the imperfection that makes curls so alluring so don't worry about a little frizz. 😏 DO IT AGAIN! The curls were fabulous on you!! 🥰🥰 But maybe use a hood dryer so it's dry in an hour or 2 and you don't have to endure the sleepless torture lol

My hair is just past my butt when I straighten it and its WORK! I can't imagine it being longer 😳 I do definitely get headaches from wearing it in high buns and ponytails for long periods of time too.

I didn’t think you’d ever want to hear this & I’ve kept my opinions to myself but I’ve always wanted to tell you that I think you look better with your bangs grown out. I don’t think they’re as flattering to your face, I like you better without bangs but that’s just my opinion ☺️

Yeahhhh 😍the old Sarah is back..your hair long and no bangs looks so much nicer on you and makes you younger. The bangs where like a curtain haha and way too thick I think. Love your video's. X
