This Moonman S5 is one of my favorite Moonman pens so far, as it seems like one of their most original designs. Even though I say that, I also don't mind their designs that seem more inspired by other pen brands. This pen does have the feature of being able to stand up on its "rear end" and in promotional pictures it's shown being filled this way, but you'd be silly not to hold onto it while filling it with ink, it would still be way too easy to knock it over and make a mess, essentially making this a fun but pointless feature.

Oh man this is a problem I’ve developed since buying the Peter Pen. Now I’m waiting on an Opus 88 to mod with a parallel nib and a Kaweco Sport. I’ve done ink drawing for ever but fountain pens never really occurred to me, but after trying the Peter Pen I’m hooked, and my wallet is suffering while my drawing happily thrives!

A smashed cockroach 🪳 is still a very “Peter-esque” drawing - especially if you add a diagram with arrows to the features, done in an alien 👽 alphabet! That reminds me: The famous Illustrating team, the Frouds, (sp?) once released a book of squashed fairy drawings...

You did a great job with the video, considering the difficulties. The other option I would do (but then you would not see the entire drawing happening) is to use real time parts of the video. Then you can also see the way you are drawing while it's turning. I do like the intro and outro a lot.

What if you could spin your eyeballs at the same speed that the plate is spinning? Then it might be easier to draw on that thing, but harder to walk...

I just watched a video of a guy, Penguify, practicing basic aiming for FPS games, and learning different keyboard layouts and stuff. And that thing you said about 10:17 hit me so hard after that. I was thinking of Penguify learning things by breaking it down into their basic parts, and seeing your line quality break down like that when in an uncomfortable made me think of how shabby MY linework is. Point is, I think I know how to improve my own drawings now - or at least I have confidence on where I would want to start. So thanks, Peter, for putting yourself into uncomfortable positions for the sake of art and sharing it with us!

This is SICK peter the final video, I'm glad u put all the work into making it what it was. Didn't catch your final opinion on the video but i LOVE it it is sooo so soooooo beautiful and was not dizzy for me personally, i see how it could be but very minimal. What a COOL idea! Itd be interesting to try drawing while your chair spins, the table is a donut shape, and your chair would be spinning inside the "hole". The finished drawing reminds me of a top shot of a spoilt, ramen bowl :D

Awesome vid Peter!! Amazing results against all the the tec issues involved. I worked in traditional animation back in the day. We drew on a disc..to gain access to different sections of the drawing without wrecking your wrist. It wasn't constantly spinning though. You're an amazing artist Peter..I like how you always challenge yourself to find new ways of seeing.

Filming this would be kinda weird. I think a top down shot from far away would work good. Like closer to your ceiling , it would show everything, but from that distance the spinning drawing wouldn't be disorienting. The drawback of course is you wouldn't see the drawing close up, but with good camera resolution and lighting it might compensate.

Hi Peter, I have been following you almost from your first day of recording years ago. Even saying that, years ago, seem weird. I have never put myself in to win a giveaway that you have going but I will try at least this once. I have only won once from a website called drawing tangles with dawn, between you 2 and maybe a few van lifers, I am set. I just wanted to applaud your new way of drawing, motion sickness aside. Honestly, this "experiment" is a very good one, and it did make your art look a little different. Super trooper Peter, taking one for the team. I never would have been able to do it. Even though I do get motion sick from spinning, Mission Mars did me in at DisneyWorld, wacthing this was very acceptable. I think maybe the wobble helped.
