As a straight woman I find you extremely gorgeous 😊 just felt like sharing a bit of love and light your way. Pottery seems so rewarding. Looking forward to getting into it. Hopefully in the near future
As others have already stated, the "process" of designing & measuring" is incredible. Your template work alone, is a major inspiration. Have you ever done any small lamps, with matching shades? To be used with an electrical "socket" insert in the base? You're an incredible inspiration...you broaden our horizons. 10 🌟's
To me, one of the most compelling areas of creating is the problem solving and ingenuity that goes into achieving a concept. The variety of ways there are to create and get from one point to another make everyones work unique. I love the idea that you wanted to build this big, huge stand and turn a little guy into a big, sweeping palm tree and that you found a way in spite of limitations. Those moments where you are compelled by an idea and just have to find a way to it are where ingenuity grows. Personally I wonder if there would be a way to sort of hook the forms, but I’m having trouble thinking of one. Solving the problem of making large pieces in small kilns is a good problem to think about.
This project is 🔥! I love how it came out. Thanks for creating the video which makes me think it was double work. The crafting of a piece and crafting of a video.
Fun video! It’s so helpful to see how other potters plan out large pieces. I’m thinking about making a couple of large totem poles and this gave me great ideas for the template. I can’t help but think of turmeric when looking at your golden clay! 😂huge surprise after the bisque firing!! Such a pretty brown!
Just want to shout you out. Your work is awesome, the content of your videos is so helpful and you make it easy to understand and interactive for your viewers. You have made the decision for me to start my own pottery business on the side and hoping to launch in the near future. Thank you for sharing your skill and joy with us! Keep being wonderful
Thanks for filming all this and sharing! It's so fun seeing such a large piece come together and all the steps. A real labor of love and it turned out so great!
WOW it's BEAUTIFUL! The colour is stunning.... I'm new to pottery, but I'm still binge watching every single one of your videos 😂😂😂 I would love to see you do a small round sink for a guestroom (or a normal sized one for that matter 😅). I want to make tiles for our bathroom or kitchen (one day) so I'll watch your videos on tiles next... Have a lovely weekend xxx
Please make a 2 clay pots with a filtering stone in the middle ,in South America we use this to keep drinking water at natural temperature and we used a wood stand to hold the pot with the filter stone On top and the one with the filter water in the bottom with a nice cup with a long handles to take the water out .. I cannot find anything like this in the United States and I will love to see you create one . My name is THAMARA and I want you to know I absolutely love you ,you have a gift from God to do beautiful things .Many blessings for you and your family. Thanks
Mia thank you for your work! I'm learning a lot from you. I'm new to ceramics. I see you didn't glaze your product. But it will be used next to the sink where the water is. Please tell us on your channel when it is important to cover the product with glaze and when it is not important. Flower pots are not necessarily glazed. Do I understand correctly? Is it normal to leave a flower vase outside without glaze completely or partially?
Hiii I always wanted to do pottery, but have never gotten around to it, I have so many other projects, so I just watch it on RU-vid, I only found you today, and I am amazed at your skills! I do not know why some kiln company hasn’t sponsored you and sent you the kiln that you want, I believe you would like a bigger kiln(???). I believe your subscribers would agree. Who do we write to? I’ve NEVER even thought of doing this for another RU-vidr … what kiln do you currently use (brand and size so we can make this happen for you)!!!! WHO’S WITH ME ON THIS!?
Also.. can you re-use all those shavings? I wonder as well if you can re-use the clay that’s all watery on a wheel.. the stuff that doesn’t end up being part of the pot!? ❤
Great vid. I love your new creation! It looks a lot smaller after the firing though! What is the clay body? It's really beautiful pre and post kiln. Thank you!
This is very beautiful, for some reason I'm not a fan of coiling....probably because it's so tedious and I already have a hard time being patient with ceramics as it is.
Definitely it’s tedious! But I also think its fun because they way I work I only work on each pot for like 15 minutes a day and then over days it feels like it just grows out of nowhere!😍
I love your table, and l learned so much from your videos. I just started in air dry clay, but would like to get into ceramics. Other than the cost of a Kiln, would you say it is about the same in costs using the ceramic clay and glazes as ADC and paint? Thank you so much! 😊
Fantastic result. One question though: why do you let the pots dry in between coils? I’m guessing that’s so you have a firmer base for the next coil but I’ve not had that be a problem.
You really love a big project😂😂 this came out very cool! This may be a silly question, but how do you figure out the sizing of the templates? I get the height, width, etc… but do you just do the angle of roundness (there is probably a word for this but 🤷♀️) by eye or is there some math involved? Or something I’ve not thought of?
If i got some clay and made something similar, how do I get it fired? I don't have a kiln, or access to an are for a pit fire. Do people with kilns let ppl use them?
Speaking as a pot plant person, I would have made the top pot the right size to hold a standard size plastic pot, and not actually plant your plant in the clay pot. Advantages - swapping plants (especially if your light level is low), avoiding the awful business of salts leaching through the clay.
