Feel like the game would have to be modded and controls changed to make it fun. Glad you tried this, though! I love to see it!! I'd love for a Bust A Groove inspired line of games to have a rebirth with tons more motion control games in place of Just Dance type games
For me, part of the fun of these is dealing with the awkward controls. However, they actually did make a Bust A Groove arcade game. flyers.arcade-museum.com/?page=flyer&id=2261&image=1 I've never seen one in person, so I can't comment on what it's like to play. But such a thing did actually exist. :)
Man, that looks tough. You did impressively well. I remember trying to play this on a PS1 dance mat, where the face buttons were in the diagonal spots. It wasn't very fun but it was much easier than this.
I tried this again a few months later with a different button mapping, putting X and O on the cabinet buttons. It was awkward for a different reason, but I was able to do better. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TQdkD7sK00Y.html
man idk how you got this set up but its like my dream to play like this ima huge bust a groove fan and im actually trying to revive the game trough youtube and mostly instagram and theyre other youtubers like jayR that are doing bust a groove things today and i think theres a way to revive this game i would love to see it remastered
It's running in a Playstation emulator and interfaced to the DDR cabinet with a special interface board. I have another cabinet I may try this game in that I think might actually be more playable. I like Bust-A-Groove, too, but playing it like this was really awkward!
I thought about "remote buttons" by holding a regular controller, too. But part of the dumb fun of these is struggle against the awkwardness of playing a game with a really wrong controller. I think I'll probably try this again though with X and O mapped to the cabinet buttons and see how that goes.
Nah it's a game about 4 beats in a bar. You stay on the arrow side to do the input (not even on beat) before the 4th beat then you move to the other side to press the corresponding button on the 4th beat the lock it in. From memory it all ends with circles or crosses (triangle and square are for other things) so he could map that to the diagonal buttons (if there are any) or use it to expect how to move your feet. Think of it as having to play a weird DDR doubles song where the 2nd pad is only used every 4th beat...and the rest of the song doesn't have to be played in time.
I just want to congratuñate for doing something no one would have think of or done atm. Love your BaG support and you have a subscriber :)! Also I saw your other video and left a message
Thanks! But I can't really take credit for this particular game. I had been posting videos playing console games and games that were not DDR in the DDR cabinet and a few people suggested I play Bust-A-Groove specifically. So...I did! :) I do love the game though and enjoyed playing it back in the day. And it was certainly fun to revisit it in this way--even if it was awkward.
Someone else mentioned that a while back. I'd try that if I ever come back around to this kind of thing. But this was also as much about being ridiculous and challenging as it was about actually being playable.
i just realised i never told you the bust a groove easter egg to win easier whenever you hit the arrow try to hit them really fast dont wait for the light or the temp just hit them really fast then double hit fast the O or X button whatever you chose its called a garanty glitch i invented it and no one knows about it beside you and whoever still watch this video you can try when you are feeling like playing one day hit the arrows fast then when its the third tempo wich is the tempo to press the button you chose so O or X you double tapp the button really fast it takes practice but when i discovered this i finnaly finished the game is hard mode easely
1234 1234 123O 123X It shouldn't be too awkward if you're already familiar with the game. You should be able to start jumping to the designated arrows by the 2nd count. Only worrisome thing is having to hop back to the O pad by the 4th count. Might have to do a quick double tap on the 2nd count and travel during 3rd count. Pretty interesting to watch overall though hope you improve and make more! Would love to see this game remastered one day!
You would have a better chance of doing better if you configure the controllers for X and O to be Left and up the distance betwen pads is way shorter, sorry about my english good video!
Dude just play BAG2 and use "easy" control style, which uses only arrows. except attack and dodge are X and O. Plus BAG1 doesn't work well with dance pad bc say yer left foot presses the left arrow and stays on it while yer right foot presses up then down then right. BAG1 will read this as left up left down left right, BAG2 will read it as left up down right - as it should, if yer used to DDR
for someone who paid a good chunk of money for that setup, you'd think they'd know how to use it.... maybe practice a bit before you try this again. I would like to see someone be able to do this though! ;)
I think you may have missed the point. This was suggested to me and I specifically didn't try it beforehand. It's supposed to be an awkward struggle. For what it's worth, I did try it again about 6 months later and did somewhat better: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TQdkD7sK00Y.html
