This helps tremendously. You've inspired me to cut my own hair after watching your previous videos. I cut it a couple a weeks ago and struggled a bit with the blending and knowing which guards to use through the process. My hair was uneven in certain sections. :) Ok. So use the taper guard to cut going backwards down to the nape on both sides. Then, drop to the 3 guard to blend in the hair that was cut with the taper guard into the hair directly above it all the way to the nape on both sides. I noticed that you didn't use the 3 to cut/blend the hair in the back (center) during that process -that's where I messed up. Next, cutting from the center of the nose towards the forehead...got it. Use the 2 to blend the hair cut with the 3 (in the back). I'm going to keep trying until I get it. Thanx a bunch!

I finally did it, I cut my own hair for the very first time. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise. I did shave a bit more off of the right side than the left and a little on the lining in the back, but it’s hair and will grow back. I’m sure I’ll get better the more I do it.
