Since 1934, the Masters Tournament has been home to some of golf’s greatest moments. Amidst blooming azaleas, towering pines and flowering dogwoods, the first full week of April ushers in a stage unique to golf and to sport. Over four days and 72 holes, the smallest field in major championship golf competes for a chance to capture the Green Jacket and a place in Masters history.

This "high class" operation 1934, didn’t extend an invitation to a Black competitor until 1975. The club didn’t admit its first Black member until 1990 and didn’t offer membership to women until 2012. The board must be exclusively Republican.

I have been there once and the grounds are kept up to the ultimate standards. I swear it even looked to me that even the pine straw looked as if it was combed to perfection.

Since my first visit to The Masters, I have been telling people the same thing. Their attention to detail is incredible. Prior to my first visit, a friend of mine who had been before told me "I will give you fifty dollars for every weed or out of place thing you see". LOL

A club pro that I know attended The Masters in 2014. He bought me a replica of one of the flags that are mounted on each flagstick. I will pass it to my son when I die. I guess you can buy them online, but I know that one came from Augusta National.

Beautifully shot. In my 22 yrs working on the Masters' "Movie" crew (85-08) what I loved to see was the ANGC's amazing and relentless attention to detail.
