Unfortunately we've run into a lot of challenges with Atticus. It's a great concept and easy to use but there are still too many bugs. In particular, we've struggled to see an updated word count (pretty important for book publishing) and unable to export the full book in PDF, it just gets hung up. We have followed the instructions provided by the responsive support team but nothing seems to work. We are about to give up as we've spent too much time troubleshooting.

Sorry you've been having troubles! What you're describing usually has something to do with content that isn't formatted quite right, but I can't help here in the comments. If you write back into support our team will always work with you until you get issues solved!

Would this be suitable for a book that is divided into parts that have chapters? (similar to how the Bible is divided into books and chapters)

You can certainly separate into Parts, though it doesn't support columns, if you were looking for a very close Bible reflection. If you check out our video about Formatting a Book, it shows how parts work in that one. I hope that helps!

I was so interested in this and wanted to purchase it. But your demonstration is so fast paced and ridiculously hard to follow that it has totally turned me off of the software. Also, playing that music in the background makes it totally impossible to hear and follow anything you say...on top of the speed.

This is just a really quick demo to take a peek inside - we have many more tutorial videos that go through each of the features more carefully (with no music). We also have written tutorials for anyone who prefers to take things at their own pace!

I have the software, it is the best software I have ever used for creative writing and formatting. The video is pretty fast-paced, but this information is priceless. If you give it a chance for a book or two, then come back to this video and it will make perfect sense, and you will follow along with no problems. I hope you go very far in your book-writing adventure. Plenty of publishing software exists, but this is the one that fits me. I hope you find what fits you.

@@shnrbtlle18 I am writing a workbook in 8.5 by 11.5 - Can I format my book to this? And can I import an existing EPUB file, edit it - and then export it to my computer? Thank you! I know basic questions - but this is all new to me, and my concern is this is going to take a long time to learn how to use.

You just need to take some time and get used to the program, learn the program and it becomes easier as you go.
