When I was on night shift, I used the equivalent of big freakin blinds to keep out the light and big freakin fan to drown out the noise of housemate and neighbors while trying to sleep. The 2 worked pretty well.

I worked night shift last year. I had a baby in October and was out several months. After I came back, I tried to quit my job. I told them I could no longer work night shift with 2 kids and one about to start school, my exhaustion level is over 9000. You know what they did?!? Switched me to day shift 😱😱 now I'm up until 3 am every night because my schedule is so messed up and I can't sleep 🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭

I use the blinds that came with my apartment, "temporary" paper blackout blinds inside the window frame then I top it off with thermal blackout blinds on top. My bedroom is a dark cave and I love it.

too funny. fyi: there is black contact paper. peel and stick. that may work for windows if you don't have black out curtains.
