One of the men accused of killing Memphis rapper Young Dolph says he was offered money from Big Jook to kill Dolph.
Cornelius Smith took the stand Monday. He, along with Justin Johnson and Hernandez Govan, are charged in Young Dolph’s murder.
Johnson and Smith are accused of firing the shots that killed the famous rapper, while Govan is accused of conspiring and planning the murder.
Smith told the courtroom he had “been caught and I have a conscience.”
He says Govan told him about a $100,000 hit ordered by Big Jook, and that they were going to split the money, along with Govan.
Surveillance footage outside Makeda’s Cookies, where Dolph was killed, was shown in court. Smith identified himself as one of the men in the video.
“I saw him (Dolph) standing by the window and just jumped out and started shooting,” Smith testified.
