The Outlander has a great running and sounding engine - and one of the most powerful you can find. The Outlander also has some of the most trick frame and suspension components out there. And the XT comes ready to ride - a big plus. With all that said, I like having two brake levers, and full control over the drive system - meaning 2wd, 4wd, and locked! Bottom Line? My favorite big bore is the Suzuki King Quad 750 with EPS!
polaris is the best system for atv awd. True full time locked differentials with no levers to hold or visolock (that the other 3 wheels dig a nice hole waiting for it to engage). Polaris's transition from 2wd to AWD is seemless. if the competitors could use the same system as the polaris, they would.
I used to hate can ams. BUT then i took one for a spin. And i must admit it is just the machine i've been looking for. I crushed polarisses (no surprise) brute forces and king quads with it. Lovely machine. Can am & honda
@xkillaz18x We have trouble with the new 800s running very hot. Although our riding is in the mountains we hear the same complaint from others. I also prefer a lockable front differential to a self-limiting system like the Can Am and Hondas have.
Would there be any advantages, other than power, of getting a big-bore V-twin over a big-bore single cylinder? Such as this Can-Am Outlander 800 over the Suzuki King Quad 750.
The VISCO lock has been updated on the 2010 models and is MUCH better YAMAHA and CAN AM have much different front locking systems but both are at the top of the ist of being the best out there
All front differentials and differential locks are not the same at all. There are vast differences. Suzukis and Yamahas are similar in how they lock the front differential. Kawasaki stands alone as how the front differential can be locked in variably. Can Ams and Hondas are similar as they tend to 'attempt' to lock the differential when it begins to slip - more like a 'limited slip' differential rather than a 'locking' differential.
A V-twin sounds better and is usually smoother but in this case the King's single is smoother. And a twin has twice the upper internals to malfunction I suppose.
I am very much interested in the Kawasaki Brute Force 750, but these big-bore single cylinders are intriguing. I have heard big-bore singles will get less gas mileage than a comparative V-twin. Is that the case?
yameys are good quads, but all of the companies have the same system, can-am's is the same it just electronically turns on the diff lock, but kitty cat, suzuki, kawasaki and honda are all basically the same systems, or ideas any way, and they work the same.
the yamaha will will perform any other 4wd? LOL! polaris is the only 4wd system that is true locked front and rear on the go with no speed limits. Leave the switch in 4wd and go riding. It only engages the front wheels (LOCKED) when the rears slip. It takes less then 1/5th of a slip of the rear wheels for the front to engage. The beauty of the polaris system is you can ride ready in AWD all day without the heavy feeling of 4wd, as it is only engages the front wheels when the rear wheels slip.
Go with the Grizzly..cheaper and more capable. The Visco Lock is junk!! Way to much money for this machine. Get the Grizz 700..cheaper, more capable, better ride and one of the best if not the best 4WD system out there!!!
