just bought a 05 rhino yesterday and I absolutely love it. got it for 4 grand and its has a rebuild still not broke in enough to adjust the valves. LOVe It Love it your videos made my mind up for me
Look around the internet for race car accessories. Or even a race shop that modifies Rhinos for off road racing. I believe there are also wrist strap available that keep your hands on the wheel. The very best solution though (without sounding like a jerk ;-) is to train yourself to keep your hands on the wheel at all times. It's something even more important for passengers to be reminded of.
It can really vary depending on where you ride, how you ride, and what other things you've done. Tires will make a big difference. With all that said, we've gotten as bad as 13 mpg with aftermarket tires driving in the mountains, and as much as around 16 driving more easily.
You can't lock the front differential unless it is engaged - in 4wd. In 4wd you still have power delivery to the front dif so it is not 2wd. It is just that without the front locked it allows the differential to slip - just like the rear end in your puckup truck. That's technically 2wd, but it allows each rear wheel to spin at different speeds for turning.
@ATVTVCOM As far as I am informed, Hisun is actually Japanese. I just bought it, because I had been offered a demo for 5200 USD, it has only driven 500km. A new one normally cost 14000 USD in Denmark or 80.000 DKK. And a Rhino costs 85000DKK or 14700USD. Thats why i thought that the quality should be almost the same.
4wd is actually only 3wd (I know, go figure!) but basically 4wd without a true locker allows one front wheel to spin while the other has traction. When the front differential is 'locked' both front wheels will turn at the same speed - just like the rears do.
@legit64 That's an almost impossible question to answer. Where? How? Who? What? If you need to ride on 50" trails the answer is easy - the RZR. The Rhino is the slowest and noisiest of the group and tips over the easiest. The Teryx is the most reliable, handles well and also works the most. The RZR S is the fastest, most comfortable, quietest, but lacks any work ethic and has very questionable reliability.
But I thought you can't lock the diff unless it's in 4x4, because of the way the buttons are set up. So really, in 4x4 it's technically 2wd, until you put it in 4x4diff lock and it becomes completely 4wd.
I know how a diff works. But you said in 4wd mode it's 3wd. So basically you were saying that the back wheels don't have a diff. What I'm trying to say is that I thought the Rhino had a diff in the back too, so when you engage it in ordinary 4wd, there's one back wheel and one front wheel engaged. Is there a differential in the back? 'Cause if there isn't then I'm wrong.
Have looked for a place to ask questions, but cant find one. When is Yamaha gonna put a 1000 cc, twin cilinder motor in the rhino? Have a rhino 700 now, but would love more horses, without having to go aftermarket.
I am going to buy a Hisun 700 UTV. Its like the rhino, and some said that it is actually Yamaha them self who bould them. Is that true? Have you ever testet one? If you look at the price is almost the same as the rhino, so it cant be a "Cheap Chinese" UTV?
Manuel Palomares It depends on where you live and the overall condition of the machine. I'd look around in your area's classified ads to see what others are selling for....
