We get lots of questions asking how the Maxxis Zilla tires are holding up so we thought we would make a video to show everybody. They were installed at 950 km's and the Grizzly now has 6984 km's. They are still going strong and we would definitely purchase them again.

Love the traction! Came out of a "greasy" hole and the rear tires hooked up just as the front was getting on dry ground and the Kodiak stood right up on the back wheels. Stockers just spin!

+cubbeezx They ride very well, only thing i noticed was anything less than 5 mph, they have a tractory feel to them. Not much vibration other than that. Have a good one!

Happy belated b-day CK - lol. Those tires are a really good bang for the buck and considering how big the paddles are, I think they run quite smoothly on the trail. They are smoother than the ITP mud-lites I had on my Rancher. Thanx for sharin'!

I sure loved my Zillas when I had the Kodiak. Only 2 problems, 1. my rear tire got a hole some how, 2. they sure were rock throwers lol. Although if I were to rate them out of five probably be a 4/5. Great review Cubbee, can't wait for the next!

If you take care of your tires, they will carry you a looong way. I got over 8000kms on my mud lights with tread left to spare. i found cracking in the sidewalls around the lettering from weathering. After that they had their final ride. Thanks for the update on these tires Cubbeezx.

Don't get me wrong I love my zillas! They are super light and capable of anything! AWSOME mud/trail lite that rides nice! It might just be where I ride but mine have slices and look as if they have more wear then yours and my 570 only has 1200kms and I installed them from new.. They are a soft rubber tire and I ride everything from sand to skeg to rock everything !

+GoDeepCanadians We have a couple of "cuts/small pieces" out of some of the treads, but nothing too major. Our trails don't have many sharp rocks to cut them so maybe that is the difference. We like too that they are light and ride really nice but are still pretty good in the soft stuff!

That are a good tire for sure ! definitely up there (in my opinion) with the Big Horns and Terra Cross tires. I do basically the same type of riding as you, maybe with more rocks (its rocky over here on the East Coast haha) and the big horns work great. lots of guys run the Zillas too. Good stuff Cubbee !

Im looking to upgrade tires myself. Im stuck in between getting a set of Maxxis MU02 Zilla or Kenda K299 Bearclaw. I do mostly trail riding, but lots of mud at times. They are around the same price range but if I get the Zilla it will also give me an extra inch of ground clearance. Thanks! :D

+Alex Stark The Bearclaw is a popular tire, but we don't have any experience with them. It is nice to get the extra inch of clearance..sometimes it can make all the difference! Any viewers out there run Bearclaws? Thoughts?

How is your Grizzly holding up? I'm looking at a 2006 Grizzly 660 31 kW and contemplating buying that thing. My little 500 Honda lacks power I'm afraid. :P Nice setup and videos by the way.

I agree with your Zillas assessment. I have them on my King Quad and like them better than the ITP XTR's I had on the previous KQ. Plus the Zillas were much less expensive. Great tires!

+San Juan Mountain Bob They seem to be a fairly popular tire, and we can see why! They are really light and ride nice...how do you find them on rocky terrain? We don't have much rock here, so can't really say how they are on this kind of terrain. Thanks for watching!

+cubbeezx They're very good on rocks too. I only have about 500 miles on them, but they are showing no wear. They're tough against cactus as well. They seem to be a bit less "grippy" on the rocks than the ITP XTR's were. But, I had problems with the sidewalls on the XTR's cracking if the air pressure went too low. I'm much happier overall with the Zillas.

+TheOutty500 Not that we ever actually measured them..but when we were reading about them this came up often. The 26" on the Kodiak and the 27" on the Grizzly look very similar...27"s are a bit bigger of course, but not a whole lot. Any other viewers have a thought on this?

+cubbeezx ya the zillas are not really a true measure if u have them on lower air pressure. i keep mine pumped at about 8 psi so i can break traction a bit easier. but if they're at 3 or 4 (what i run in the winter) they are a bit smaller but the traction they have is great. definitely the best all around tire that we've run in our group.

+John Affatato oh and also ive had mine for maybe 4000 kms and my back tires are destroyed. but that's mostly because of burnouts and drifting around on paved back roads chasing zepp and my dad down. LOL :)

Those seemed to held up pretty good, my 97 quadrunner has over 3000 miles and just replaced the original tires. They were basically slicks with alot of dry rot! lol

its a shame quads don't have the same size of tyres for the front and rear so they could be swapped around for even ware and replacing tyres. I understand why they don't but it would be useful

for your next set you should probably use mudzillas of the same size. they have wider tread spacing and they do just as good if not better on the trail than the zillas

We don't do a lot of asphalt riding, but our Zilla's lasted for miles and miles and miles....never owned bighorns so not sure their wear life

Cubbeezx have you ever thought about MOTO MTC tires. Over a inch of tread and they dont have the tracter bounce at low speed. Im like you I do a lot of trails, rock, dirt and 20% mud and I think that is the next tire for me on my brute.

The Grizzly could always wheelie - even when brand new. When we put the larger tires on it though I lost a bit of bottom end so I did a shim mod. Got the bottom end back...lost a bit of top end but got the wheelies back LOL

Just tried out my xmr last weekend and love it. Now my question is the dealer put 12 pounds in the back and 8 in front what do you think after running these tires .

Glad you are enjoying your XMR! we run between 3 and 4 psi but I guess depends on the kind of terrain you ride. Ours ride too rough if we put them much higher LOL

Thank you. Don't know why dealer told my brother and I to run them at 12 psi in back and 8 in front. I know they are 28s but it seemed to hard for me. This weekend I'll try them at 4 psi. Those any water get in at that pressure

We don't ride a lot of really rocky terrain so find the lower tire pressure works fine. We've never had a flat, and have hardly ever even had to add air, no water issues either.

+Tylor k Some ITP mud lit AT's. I used those on my cousins old Raptor 700. They worked pretty good. Not too big or small, and a 250cc bike should have more then enough power to turn them.

The Mega Mayhems are nice tires, bigger lugs for the mud but quite a bit heavier than the Zilla's...Zilla's are a lighter weight good all around tire in our opinion

Hey cubbeezx, is it better to run a bit narrower tire in front than the same size on all four ? expl. 27x11x12.rear . 27x9x12 front ? or 27x11x12 all around ?

Hi Tony, having narrower ones in the front might make it easier to steer, but ours are 9 in the front and 11 in the rear and work just fine.

Actually have never measured it but the zilla's are 27" compared to the stock 25" tires so maybe another inch of clearance compared to stock

what size rims are they? width, and height? pretty sure they are 12 Inch tall but im not sure on width? front and rear

+Kaleb Anthony They are 12" tall and I'm assuming 7" wide but we don't really know. Best to check their website to be sure.

We have never used the Bearclaw's but hear good things about them. We love our Zilla's and wouldn't hesitate to buy them again..maybe viewers that run Bearclaws could share their thoughts....?

Wow cubbeezx ! After all you put them true they still have a lot of traction ! Those are the Rims on grizz www.pureoffroad.com/itp_12_machined_ss216_atv_wheels.htm .... I Now have them for a half year i geuss and i love them ! They got a lot of grip and the Rims Shire so nicely in the sun ! I hope they stay as good as your's ! I really Like you the grizzly too ! What years it build in ? Me grizzly is Now 2 years old! I have a lot respect for you and ck ! Keep it up cubbeezx !! 👍

+cubbeezx I use my honda trx250x to do a lot of muddy deep woods trails so I need something better than stock for what I ride somtimes I have trail wolfs to put on it

+cubbeezx I will get them with a set of rims so I can just put them on whenever I go to a park, I mostly do a lot of muddy deep woods trails so I need more traction than the stocl tires give so I got a pair of carlsile trail wolfs well see how they do

+Saksugamer The only mod the Grizzly has is a 1.5mm shim in the clutch and the slightly larger tires/rims. The Zilla tires were amazing in the deep snow...very impressive! Grizzly has a lot of clearance just stock which is nice. Thanks for watching.

+ATV & DRONE I made the intro using the editing software I use...Final Cut Pro X for the mac. I used Music by Teknoaxe. Hope that helps

+Jacob Comardelle We really like our Grizzly and Outlander..tough to choose between the two....our Outlander (1000) has a lot more power than the 700 Grizzly and the power steering we find is better. The Grizzly has a comfier ride and as we've had it the longest it has been so reliable! Either is a great choice.

We did put a 1.5mm shim in the clutch when the 27's went on to get a bit of the bottom end back that we lost...that is it though

+Glow Nation Cub doesn't really need all out mud and skeg tires for his type of riding. Plus law's are hella more expensive and harder to get up here in Canada due to the dollar exchange.
