true but giving it to minors is illegal, not saying he is doing that but looks suspicious sitting there in the bed of his pickup. For this interview he should have cleaned up a bit would help his case.@@BrianFavorite-ir6io
This can be stopped with one tactic that our community did. Just Open some Public Lands to Trails and Parks where these young men with no where to gather and Nothing to do other than stick their faces in some Computers. We created a Local Club and they have Designated Parks, Trails and Parking Lots to use most ares donated by individuals and companies to help keep most of these Good Boys out of real Trouble. "2 Years and Running Great!"
While I agree there should be more off-road riding available. That would not solve this problem. They do this for a sense of control. Taking over streets and being hoodlums. To them, it has nothing to do about being off road.
ok but how are they going to get themselves to the trails? load up their atvs into their trucks? or just drive them recklessly through the streets to the atvs? also, i feel bad for the many lawful atv riders who deserve things like trails and parks, but this nonsense should not be rewarded for those dangerous idiots.
The letter response is BS. The radios in patrol cars is way faster than ATV's. It's a simple matter to set up road blocks and arrest them. The comments by the "club spokesperson" are absolutely nothing more than rationalization for breaking the law. Durham police are being told by the Mayor and City Council to ignore the problem. The DA's office would refuse to prosecute anyway. A similar situation exists in Fayetteville. I live on Tokay Drive where speed was monitored a couple days a week by radar units. I haven't seen a cop car in over a year and a half other than coming out to do paper work and report filing after the fact. Again controlled by the Mayor and City Council.
But here in lockport ny they hide in the bushes and grab you when you ride by when your on the right of way for the power lines, then impound your bike, they always have a double standard for the people in the city doing it,its as plain as black and white
The ones I have seen are reckless and taunting and are not riding on public streets because there are no trails or lack of off-road trails. Of course, the off-road trails are limited within the city limits of Durham, Greensboro, and Raleigh. If you want off-road options, look at some of the surrounding areas like Hillsborough or Pittsboro.
The whole point of this is too ride in the streets and show off, breaking the law is part of the thrill of riding. Look up Bikelife Baltimore where this started. I highly doubt they want to ride in off road trails, the whole point of a takeover is to ride in the city streets
My wife and I have been surrounded couple times, they tried reaching in the window grabbing at my wife.I has to start swerving erratically to get them away. They completely took over the Statesville Wine and Walk event. Stopping traffic and terrorizing the poor elderly couple they surround and circled, they even kicked an old gentleman's car because he tried to go through the green light when they had overtook the intersection. Cops dis nothing. My mechanic who's from Honduras has them ride through his parking lot on regular basis and they vandalized his property several times now but because they're on dirt bikes it's legal. My Japanese and other Asian friends get surrounded and harassed in a regular occurrence. Yet again police do nothing. How is this not considered state sponsored terrorism?
I just had this happen to me today. I think the police can't do anything because there are no laws that permit them to do anything? It's one thing if you can catch them... but they don't have license plates and unless you hit them and injure them... the police really can't chase them down unless they go past a police in their presence. But I do agree with you.. this should be considered some sort of state terrorism.
@@GorgieClarissait’s pretty easy to outrun cops on a dirt bike, and it makes it even harder if it’s a big group. The cops would just be wasting time and putting themselves in danger by chasing them.
Because the whole point is to show off in public and show you don’t care about the police or the law. It’s called a takeover where you and your friends take over the streets in dirtbikes
They want to be seen!!! Not hurt anyone intentionally….. give them some space or a racing area / showing off space!!! Really are y’all that non intelligent in the Durham Boards!!!
The only way to end this... is to confiscate dirt bikes and 4 wheelers without return. That's it. It's as easy as that. If there are driving illegally on the road, confiscate their illegal vehicles and don't give them back. They'll learn real fast.
Well, they let bicyclists on the road and they feel entitled and some don't obey the road rules so, what's the difference? I've had a bicyclist literally stop in front of my car to talk to another cyclist and when I said something, he wanted to cuss at me. "Share the road" they say
1. Bicycles should be obeying they laws too. Not running red lights and endangering people. 2. Cyclists don't take up the entire road on gangs of 20 or more not letting cars pass. This is not the same thing.
krissi your response is just so laughable!!! cyclists are legally allowed to be on the road. LEGALLY. They follow the road rules, even if you don't think they are. cyclists are legally allowed to be two abreast while riding. to compare a cyclist to a dirt bike or an atv... is such a laughable comparison
