1 thing that I must say about watching all of these older episodes of As the World Turns for realism is, the fact that there's a flub in a lot of conversations between people meaning they misspoke a word or they got tongue-tied or they had to stop and think for a second and then continue what they were going to say. I like the fact that everybody kept that in because it shows realism because when you talk to people you do make speaking mistakes all the time. Instead of the soap focusing on everything being perfectly spoken and they keep doing so many takes to get it perfect or they only do one take and say Hey there you go I'm not sure how this soap worked back then but it is absolutely wonderful that they keep all of the miss spoken words and mess ups in the show. I love the professionalism of every single actor that overlooks their mistake and fixes it right away and continues on and it still looks real as if it was not scripted. It is so awesome to have a soap have such realism in that way for people talk to each other they over talk each other they fight they argue there's a lot of people shoving and talking and yelling and all kinds of things and that is exactly how people act in real life. You always have problems at family gatherings there's always people that don't get along there's always fights there's always somebody drunk or whatever and As the World Turns does a fantastic job keeping up with the realism of life been putting it on a TV show to show the world truly what people act like. A lot of the problems people face families face secrets but the only thing I disagree with is it takes a lot of time to develop those kinds of feelings where you want to spend the rest of your life with someone and As the World Turns goes at mach speed and I really disagree with that. Other than that I absolutely love the show to death. You can never ever tell that any of these people are acting at all and that goes to the professionalism of each and every person that goes into making a soap opera which is hundreds and hundreds of people. I wish the soap was still on the air today. I would love to know where all the characters would be today. I'm just saddened about all of our wonderful actors that have passed on. I just read recently that the character of Duke passed away at like 40 years old. Dying of a brain aneurysm. That's how my best friend passed away and she was gosh 43 . I'm glad to see that Maura West and Scott Defreitas are still happily married today with their five children. Kudos to them. I was saddened to hear about Kelly McKenna Hensley and John Hensley got divorced after 24 years together. I am also deeply saddened of the Pinter's getting divorced. They made it 24 years I think also. It would be very interesting and fantastic to go to work everyday and then meet your significant other fall in love get married and spend your life together all because you started out at the same job together. Just as long as you're not Johnny Depp or Amanda Heard or Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. LOL
44:59 "are you having a problem with him? i bet i know what it is. he's keeping you up at night, isn't he?" omg bob lol that line is gold. i lost it when frannie blurted out lyla's secret. i didn't care for katie and chris as a couple, but watching these scenes, it's really sweet to think that casey and lyla's daughter ended up with bob and kim's son. especially since casey delivered him.
I loved watching Tonio do a double-take and then get an eyeful of Casey and Lyla kissing. Nice. I like how they're including every single person's reactions to something in real-time when they find out
It's amazing how many major cast members are at the wedding of Brian and Beatrice. For the last 10 years or so of the show hardly anyone was at anyone's wedding or funeral.
What are you talkin about? Every single anniversary Christmas Thanksgiving weddings and funerals you have three or four generations of people there. That's one of the main reasons why I love As the World Turns because of the huge and I do mean huge family presence. I'm just surprised that everybody came to a wedding that nobody really cares about. That's why they're being written off the show. They just want an excuse to have everybody together for the soap. Not even this many people were at Shannon and Brian supposed double weddings. Anywho everybody who's anybody goes to everybody's functions no matter what it is just like what Lucinda said you don't need an invitation to crash a public event.
Refreshing of Meg to state that she'd never use Lyla and Casey's relationship against them. Lucinda's bathroom/boudoir was quite a busy scene of activity!
When Lucinda said she was wearing rose-colored glasses and they were all fogged up I'm sure it could have been just as easy to say another F word there. LOL
Oh my at that mini-brawl between Lisa, Lucinda, Shannon and Judith Clayton. LOL! Part of me wonders what it would've looked like had Jill Larson still been portraying Judith. And to think, this was a successful wedding for Brian!
