The more I watch the more I realize that this collection is really every Pontiac guys wet dream! Unbeliabable coolection. At least the Beauties got fair prices.
Them two lemans had 73 gto hoods on them can't believe they went for 200 could take the hoods off and scraped them for the money back.hoods got to be worth $500 each
Great Auction, thanks for bringing us along, a lot of great cars, That Vanderbrink group is doing a big Chevy Auction outside Spokane Wasshington later in the month also
Can't believe how cheap those parts/ project cars went. I have a 73 luxury lemans with 76,000 miles. Owned it for 25 years now true little old lady car. Not a high powered GTO but it's a great cruiser and a fun car. I live 15 miles from the dealership where it sold new and the salesman is still working there. Would love to have one of those 73 coupes to go with it. I was amazed how many were there . I haven't seen a single one in my area in a decade or more not even in the junkyards. Always enjoy your videos and looking forward to the next one. Thanks 👍
1979 i bought a 1965 GTO 389 4 speed for 1000 bucks, It was used as a drag car for the first 2 years of life in 1965. I was 20 years old and had the time of my life in that car! Could get rubber in all 4 gears!
Back in 1991 I bought a 1969 Custom S 350 w/auto trans. Black vinyl top and black interior with silver paint and all the trim and even the rubber nose cone gasket. All there. Great car but had to let it go a couple years later. Miss that beauty of a car. Just found the spare set of keys for it a few days ago.
Mr. B. Here ! 👀😎👍. Some vehicles price was on the money, you could restore for the dollars paid ! Even the low dollar cars were well paid for ! Grate video ! 👍👍👍
Glad to see not all Tempests and Lemans were converted to GTO’s, but suspect some of these might be yet as you could probably double your money. Long live Pontiac!!!!!
Seems like a lot of those last 25 cars or so were pretty good deals. It may have been the lighting, but it looked like there wasn't much rust on a lot of them. Where'd he have them stored?
Most were outdoors. In general, from Texas to North Dakota, you could draw a line down the middle and find progressively rustier cars east of the line, and progressively dry cars west of the line. The moisture in the atmosphere has a tremendous impact on body rust - indoor storage is always a help, but the climate plays a huge part, in my observation
The ‘64 Pontiac that sold for $8750 isn’t a Grand Prix. The roof is wrong and it’s looks like a long wheelbase car. It’s probably a Star Chief. Plus, where the taillights are on this car is where the backup lights are on a ‘64 GP.
Amazing: The 1974 Luxury Lemans sold cheap. I think scrap price would be higher. I am sure there is a lot of parts that can bring the money back very easily. If it cannot be restored as a beater for a young guy.
Guess you can’t save all the cars. Probably a good thing I wasn’t there to buy the bubble top. Over thirty years ago I drove a bonneville that looks wise didn’t look as good as the one you bought believe it or not. I had two of those things. It was a mistake to save them.
On the second half of the auction the results got shamelessly low for many vehicles: Like the 61 Bonneville, the 59 Catalina, the 55 Chieftain coupe and more! There was bidder 3737 who was buying a lot but will make a lot of profit on the purchased cars for sure.
A whole coral of ponies..... does the frame on pontiacs interchange with the same year chevy back in the fifties?? Seen lots of two door conversions there with those fifty five pontiacs
I'd take home the 69 Catalina Wagon at the end there as far as a car to restore goes, The silver GTO Mr. Goodpliers liked went for $31K was it.? .nice deal for someone
its sad when the auctioneer at 39:13 said no to that guy offer at $925.00 but yet sold the car for $900?wtf?how sad is that?i would not want her being at my auction!!she should know better, its all about the money!!!
Damn, this was a high bid circus...33k and 21k...holy crap. Well people showing with money and grabbing em, right? This one was nuts. This a rural auction or Barrett-Jackson?
I'm surprised by the relatively low prices of the non-goats. Given the choice I'd have taken the 421 Catalina home, it did not look that bad and I can do bodywork.😏
@@tturtle1659 Go to Ca., Az., Ut, I can get cars WAY cheaper there and with zero rust. I'm in NY and people pay through the nose for unholy steel. I bought a gaggle of 55 F-100s for 1k and 67-74 Novas for close to the same. Back East that was a 30k dollar load. I pay double what scrap does out there and people call me on a bounty system for finder fees.
I bet a some of the engines and parts they are selling separate probably go to some of these cars missing drive trains. Maybe? Anyway great video as usual Tim thanks!!
Selling a ram air judge but the original ram air for the car is sold separately. Shows that these folks don’t care about the hobby one bit . Just money!
Unless I'm missing something on the condition of the 55 2dr hdtp starchief, it sold way too cheap. $6k car for sure. I see a lot of comments that stuff sold too high. So many Tin Indians went to the crusher while everyone was collecting Chevelles and Impalas.
@@mr.goodpliers6988 May I ask where you find these auction listings? I'm not a buyer. More of a tire kicker. But I probably would have brought that 55 home. Dad had a 56 4dr.
Can't tell you how painful that was watching the '73 GTO's go so cheap. $250??? I would gladly pay that for just one rear bumper (or at least the rear bumper strip). But I have to go ahead and live too far away... oh... and in a different country (groan).
The gold or tan car had a brand new vinyl top Al had just put on. She dropped the hammer too soon because it would have been higher. I was about to bid. I felt a pang of regret not bidding on that one, but the neat story was that the guy who got it was a friend who helped set up the sale. So I felt like the universe was kind of looking out for him. He got repaid for his friendship and help to Al, by getting that car for under market!
Pontiac Historical Services These show options, build details, and the dealer which received delivery of the vehicle. It's similar to a Marti report for Ford vehicles.
Tim: " Never Thought I'd See The day". Believe Me after nearly 60 years doing this You haven't. Anyone now or in the Future who thinks an Azteck Will be Collectible belongs in the "Happy Home".
What about that black 421 tri power Super Duty 61/63 model,, thats the car/model that beat ferrari and porsche and mercedes works cars in that big deal endurance race in America back in the day. it Won so big that Mercedes bought the 2 Pontiacs and took them back to Germany to see how they were made. Some of them complete Tempest, Le mans cars were a bargain as was a few 68 to 71 GTO,s. It costs $6000 to Bring one of these cars to Australia,, $40K to build it like new with pleanty of HP. Is it worth it. I see a dealer in Green Iowa sells beautifull 68 to 73 le mans/tempests for around $30k. but most are column auto and bench seat models with non factory sports instruments. That orange/primer Judge restored is worth $100,000 here and the convertable next to it is worth 100k restored also. Great Auction mate Steve in Australia.
I think somebody got a good deal on that bubble top. What little I could see sure looks worth more than 200 bucks. I sure hope it doesn’t get chopped up to put some common impala back on the road….. I’m not saying they’re bad cars but impala’s are like belly buttons and ass holes , everybody got one.
People have mor money then brains sometimes. In this case spending $32,000 for a 1969 GTO Judge without a motor or transmission nor will the dual air ram be with it. Judge or no judge I would have to have Gates money to throw away on tht. Just crazy buy for crazy money. Tainted the market value to a certain degree as well.
Lol, I can find better for way less all over the midwest. The idiots bidding on this stuff are the people filling the bubble that is soon to burst. And then they'll be shit out of luck. A GT500 or a Judge are investments, a wagon? Not so much. They're cool, but just like the van scene on the East coast, the West coast rust free stuff is at a premium while it's considered junk where it comes from. I've scored so much free iron out West it's not funny, drag it back East and it's magically transformed from scrap price to 10x or more. Rare is rare, but how many wagon collectors are there vs. those that collect Boss Mustangs and Cobras? It's almost as much if a joke as the hearse/ambulance/copcar market, they're everywhere yet people go to auctions and pay 5x what they're worth.
Why is _everyone_ using the term "rims" when it comes to "wheels"? The word "rims" is no easier, or faster, to say. But I guess It makes about as much sense as saying something that's desirable is "sick". Rant over.
