Until the engine self destructs. Already had a brand new 2022 with 400 miles have a p1236 and we took boroscope and the entire cylinder was shredded. Tsb states for entire engine replacement immediately. They also have a recall for injector failure. Same with the turbos leaking. Im a tech on Hyundai's and these are pieces of shit. Im happy you enjoy it but i hate seeing my consumers purchase a car thats going be worthless in few years when parts are made super cheap. We also dont have quality control, they fired and got rid of that department so these cars are just slapped together with no inspection.

@@midnight2moonlight200 I have a 2021 N with 17k miles I have no idea what you’re talking about. Only recall I’ve had was the software update for the wet dct.

@@midnight2moonlight200 my 2020 has 70k miles no turbo or engine issues ever only problem was the weak fuel pump but that’s very common with these.

​@@midnight2moonlight200I personally own a 23 Elantra N and I can't speak to reliability of mine because it's got like 4k miles but I don't care if the engine breaks tbh because it's got a 10 year warranty which is way longer then I'll even own this car for.

@@midnight2moonlight200Good thing that’s totally covered under warranty. Think of any car out there and you’ll have a few bad apples. But generally the N cars have been very reliable, I know several people who have tracked their Ns and absolutely no issues. Just picked my 22 VN up a couple days ago!

Did the insurance cover the whole thing? Are you going to able to get a new veloster N?

@@kaipupcake4831they actually have a really solid engine in them my brothers worked on at least 30 of them none having any problems. some had 2,000miles some had 90,000. Really drove me decision when I bought my 22 n 18k miles and still doing great.

If it's that new probably no aftermarket parts yet. Air bag on wheel,clock spring,seat belt ,airbag module. Fender, headlamp,bumper cover dosent look repairable, rad support head lamp housing attached here. Looks like wiring issues. This is why insurance company total it if it needs a wiring harness. Wheel splash, the inner apron drivers door shell ,hood if its aluminum? . Just to name a few things without even seeing anything. These hyundais are getting expensive to get parts for reasons why idk. Then having a branded title on a brand new car. Which now you can't get the money you should . Drops value more then you think over what it would be to buy one that haven't been touched .

Probably best to check parts availability first. Lots of body parts have insane backorders and insurance is totalling cars out because the parts are simply unavailable or 6-12+ months out. Easier to total than pay for rental cars for that long.

Once the air bags deploy it’s gonna need a salvage title

@@sousay2000 fix it, ship it to Europe and let a mechanic shop check it out, they place MOT on it and there wont be a Salavage car title because it is registered as Import. Did this with my Silvia

Source: I’m an auto body tech for priority automotive and we work closely with Hyundai most likely the fender and headlamp assembly are on backorder. Headlamps alone with projector HIDs are usually around 1400-2000 easily OEM and the fender is probably close to 650-700. Not too terrible but since it’s so close to when this trim came out they really don’t have the Stock built up to fix them right now. Same thing happened to my Camry in 2020 it totaled out but honestly it shouldn’t have, although given the timing, economy, and the fact Toyota was trying to build their 2021 models which are mostly the same but had a lot of parts shortages so it ended up being better for them to total it so they could scavenge the crossover parts between the two years. If you have the first iteration of a new trim car it’s always worth getting gap insurance you won’t have to pay 2-3k off the lot depreciation even if it totals out. It seems like something you won’t need but when it comes down to it if you’re one of the unlucky few you’ll be thanking god you got that gap coverage

I also noticed you didn't check under the hood. We had installed a K&N CAI on it so it was a rocket and it made fun STUSTU STU blow off noises. If it's still there you should check if it's still installed lol

I have a 2010 Hyundai Genesis coupe 2.0t track, it's somewhat related to the Veloster/i30 but I've always wondered how similar they are. I really like my car but it's the only sports car I've ever driven so I don't have anything to compare it to, especially since it's modified.

I’m on the fence. Got a 2019 manual blue but I don’t wanna put more than 30k on it not sure if I wanna keep it kinda wish I coughed up the extra for an rs or golf r for daily driving 😢
