Until you find out he didn't know what he was doing because he tried tuning his own engine, over boosted it, accidentally created the Apollo 18 mission with piston number 2 and put one of the shocks in upside down.
Honestly the fact that he did know what he was doing would make me not buy the car. Think about it, it has to be something seriously wrong for a man to give up his build like that
This is a very fun and underrated platform to work on. Man can you just imagine doing a K- swap or rotary swap underneath this MR2? Sick build indeed, I hope someone rescues this car.
Coming from a spyder owner myself, Buy it right now if you can get a deal . They have went up in value like crazy in the past few years. So glad I picked mine up when I did, all of my friends have Miatas as their track car and they all admit that the MR2 is a better car, it’s literally a street legal go cart. And they eat anything on the track with a stock K20 in it
Oh by the way, those headlights you could easily sell for 3-400. Even if you were to buy it as a parts car you would make your money back tenfold, it’s extremely hard to find parts for these cars so when they are up for grabs people have to pay the premium.
All this needs is a swap and you got your self a very fun pocket rocket thats really hard to replicate for the same money. I bought one with a blown engine to put a 2zz in it, and it completely transformed the car!
@KurtLamprecht I got a chance to drive a stock one before to notice the difference. The high revving 2zz just fits the chassis better and feels more at home in this car.
I own a 01 mr2 and this is a pretty nice car. Overall they are great to drive and this one doesn’t look to terrible for what it is, and with 68k miles, that’s a pretty good deal.
I have one and they're very nice, but not really comfy for long trips, it's super lightweight and that's what makes it special, it's simply a better miata
