Ruurd Smorenburg I installed mine and it was super easy. Buy the right plastic picks and spoons to take apart the dash and you’re golden. So happy with the end result.
Jay Huffington I ordered mine off eBay. There are so many and they very so much in price. I looked for one that included the knob and buttons near the shifter and for one that was running Android 8.1 at the very least. Mine came from China and while there is a language barrier, if you have some willingness to figure things out yourself you’ll be fine. I went into it knowing there wouldn’t be much customer support. I’m the end I’m super happy with it.
If you dont have an MMI box in your glove compartment, there is a big chance you'll find an insert hiding the last screw to release the glove box. you'll need to bend them inwards slightly on the left and right side to remove said insert. Just spend an hour trying to remove it haha :)
Hi I Just installed this but Im getting 3 issues: Airbag light on instrument panel is on, can not get to factory screen not even Changing resolution and Bluetooth Phone calls not working.
Would love to do this upgrade to my 2014 Q5 with the MMi, but after seeing all the videos on youtube related to this upgrade, It seems too risky and there is very little support when the issues arise.

I ve got a 2011 a4 mmi when I came to fit this kit everything went well until I came to the canbus box beside the glovebox, the connection blocks on harness are bigger than connections on the canbus box ie the red connection??
If all your replacing is the monitor, it seems it would have been easier to make the new monitor more of a plug-and-play and not need a new wire harness.
I've got a 2011 Audi Q5. I tried to follow exactly how you do in the video. Everything works great except for the sound system connection. When I selected Media, I heard a weird sound instead of seeing the Media screen pop up in the MMI system. Because I couldn't change the source for the new screen, when I played something, it wouldn't play sound on my car. I hope you can give me some guidance on how to resolve this. Thanks!
I have 2015 Q5 and you have to connect ami cable that came in the box then change source to external input, but even though I have same issue with the sound. It is like background digital noises and lots of people having same issue.
Good video. My radio keep cutting the Audi. The screen is on and everything work but it keep restarting the mmi system like turn it off back on play the sound and cut. Every 2 second

I had installed this on my 2013 Audi A4 as per the video . Screen does not turn off when ignition is off … I don’t want to kill my battery .. any help Is appreciated..

so the factory 3g wifi would be removed ? what happens with that .. and I have google earth now, so that is replaced also? I don't understand what happens to the back up camera if you already have one.. any help is appreciated
I did not know that audi q5 is equipped with 3g wifi. For factory backup camera, you just need to change android setting no additional wire required. For aftermarket backup camera, you need to connect video input only.

Hello. Can you please tell me how you connected the audio? Meaning I recently installed similar multimedia in to my a4 b8.5 but have problems with the sound when playing via AUX or Bluetooth (sort of digital noises). And I don't know if it's a problem bc I had to connect via AMI cable or .... something else
@@devonxscotttoo man, I did so many things with this multimedia that you can't imagine. Long story short, it's a factory bug. It can't be fixed. I have videos explaining my problem, wanna see it?
Same crappy problem, It's a nightmare for me to have such great sound system with crappy noises coming out. Did you find any solution for this and one issue also is that only works with included ami cable but still crappy noises 😔😔😔
Why don’t I hear any music when connecting by Bluetooth? Do I have to put all the components back from the glovebox before I can hear anything or why is this
My mmi tells me AMI is not connected. Even my old AMI Bluetooth isnt recognized anymore. So i dont get audio out of the radio via aux anymore. Dont know how to fix this issue. Anyone fixed the same problem ? (Tried with the 3,5mm AMI and without)
ive installed poweramp to play music, but it cant read from the internal drive, i think its blocked. Ive tried with other apps which wants access to the internal hard drive but its the same story, anybody have a clue what to do?
I have a 2017 SQ5 with back up camera OEM, but still had to remove the glove box, thanks for the instructions. I found a cable that gave me power to unit plus RPM info and more. Still haven’t found the video cable for the back up camera. There’s just a lot of cables that aren’t used. It’s hard without a manual but you helped a lot with your vid. Thanks a lot man!
Hi. I have Audi A5 2015 with mmi 3G hi. So back up camera and everything is factory. Do I still need to take out the glove box. If so why. That’s the only thing putting me off doing this install my self.
if you do not want to remove a glovebox, you could do it but for easier installation, it is better to take it out because routing main harness is little tricky
CJ Auto Repair ok thank you for reply. So there’s no special wires behind glove box. It’s purely taken off just to make routing main harness easier? I thought there was can cable located there or something. If there is no special wires there I’ll try with out removing. If I have trouble I will remove glove box.

@@cjautorepair5626 I have 2 hols the top one if I push it it will go for a normal restart . But I need a factory reset for andoid .... if you know . Like most of the phone andoid if you push down volume with lock buton on the same time and hold for more then 5 sec will go for a factory andoid reset. But on this unit is not a second buton or command 😔
I believe it would depending on which model radio system you have. The one in this video looks like the Symphony audio system = the most basic Audi system.

yes it will work 2016 Q5 but you need to buy different firmware version. If your suv already comes with factory rearview camera, I will say it will take max 2 hours.

@@0M1995 if you have aux connected to AMI in the glove box, try unplugging the aux cable. This worked for me, however sound quality isn’t as good as radio, which is annoying as have B&O system.
Hello, I’ve installed on my A5 2013 a carpad (android 9, 4gb ram), everything is working fine, but when I go to the original menu, I can’t find the right resolution. Either it’s to big or to small and the letters are with pixels.. I have tried around 20 resolutions and updates but nothing works. Do you know what could be the problem?
@@unzerjio thanks for the response! I actually found the same issue with mine earlier on. LSVD round cable was fine, but the receiving end has 4 pins and one was bent
