Bought an A3 hatch a 7 years ago, 2l diesel. Best car I ever owned albeit it was a bit tight inside when the baby and all the paraphernalia came along so it had to go. I still keep an eye out for the car on the road, loved it! Although i rarely saw another man driving the hatch, they normally drove the saloon version. I never noticed until a mate pointed that out to me after buying it, didn’t hamper my enjoyment by any means 😂
I'd the same comments when I had a new 2004 A3 2.0 TDI. I specced it up to 43k! Madness. Then I bought an S3 ad the same comments - "womans car". Whatever!
Its the first A3 hatch 5 door I genuinely love. Love the front nose. Its ironic that they have done such a good job sprucing up the a3 hatch and did very little to the A3 saloon which I used to love before now. Also red is class in it.
New a3 looks better than i remember. Initially I liked the Leon. But not so much now. Maybe it’s the angle but having seen this, I’d pick this (taking prices out of the equation).
You had the standard golf on the channel, this is the s line a3. You have to compare this with the r line golf to get a true comparison between the two. Good review nevertheless 👍🏻
Thanks for watching. Wasn't an R-Line but the Style is mid spec - same size interior, same engine, gearbox etc. I'd say you're still talking about a better finish in the Audi but it'll cost you!
@@NobbyOnCars I’ve ordered the Golf 8 R line etsi DSG. It’s at the dealer now waiting to be checked over, should be picking it up in a few days 😁. It would be good if you could get your hands on one and do a review
My god 43k. That interior is delectable. Shades of A7 for sure but it a small family hatchback. Big omissions in spec even for 43k. I can’t stop saying it. 43k!
Watched your review while having breakfast this morning. It was a lot cheerier than watching the news and a lot more interesting! I agree that this new A3 looks pretty smart and I think, much more stylish than the new golf. Do you think they’ll stick in a 2 litre petrol version, apart from the S3? Your channel is a great place to visit when thinking of a new purchase as you say it as it is. Keep them coming! Cheers.
43 grand for a new small hatchback with a tiny engine and 150bhp or 43 grand for a 172 luxury A7 with nearly 300bhp and every extra . People are mad . Anything for a new number plate
Yeah, go ahead and buy a second hand A7... then when it’s time to change tyres, cam belt, brakes, etc etc you’ll be broke. Not to mention insurance, tax and possible faults that any second hand car will, sooner or later, develop. So who’s mad then? The one who spends 43 grand on a brand new, modern, more eco friendly vehicle which also comes 3 years warranty, doesn’t require an MOT or expensive servicing for a while, or the one who buys the A7 just to show off and pretend they’re much richer than they actually are? Hmmm....
@@fabian78 I agree with you but a brand new car can have just as big a problems. It’s just the luck of the draw really whether you get a good one or a potato
Biggest problem for kids in the back seats, is the new front seat with integrated headrest obscures their forward view which makes kids car sick. Also means there’s no option to fit an iPad hold to the back of the seat without the headrest bars.
Looks cheaper than previous generation. Audi even removed internal plastic window surrounds, so now you can touch external metal sitting inside with door closed! That was significant differentiation from A class and 1 series.
why this a3 is with black grill and mirrors? when we ordered our , black miiror and grill was available only with edition 1... audi on video definitely not one ofthem...? maybe it's all about different markets...different versions
Those ISOFIX covers are a pain to be honest. Just imagine yourself trying to slide the seat in (2 hands needed) and using your 3rd and 4th hand to slide up the covers?
I also was torn between the Leon and A3, I opted for the Leon as well! Test drove both and other than the badge I couldn't justify the extra £10,000 for the same spec as the Leon.
Test drove them all when looking for my new car and when spec'd up like for like, the Leon came up £10,000 cheaper than the rest. Nothing about the other cars felt £10,000 more than the Leon, it's a bloody bargain! Also, the amount of space in the Leon is surprisingly very noticeable compared to the others.
Thanks for the reply, love your channel! They've got light blue called Turbo Blue or Navarra blue metallic, which is a dark navy. I like the Dakota Grey.. Torn between this and A class Diesel.
@@Lewis-te6re I can’t advise on the Merc as I haven’t driven one. A Class seems to be similar to the A3 in that it doesn’t feel as basic anymore or the ‘baby’ of the range.
Nice looking but being an Audi out of the same stable as the Golf and the Leon it'll be the most hideously overpriced of all 3 cars plus 19's on a car like that will be like rubber bands on the wheels, I wouldn't if it was me but then I don't foresee my ever buying one.
I own Leon SC FR 2021 and my dad owns golf 7 2018. Yesterday I took Audi A3 S-line 2022 to a test drive. It’s the same motor like in the Leon and a lot of similarities in interior. So my opinion is it’s not worth it even close. Leon full option is 32k€ and Audi is 44k€ with a half of equipment of Seat. So at the end if you want to spend 45k or more buy Japanese car and not Audi. If tou don’t want to spend 45k then Leon is a great option. It’s the same brand but cheaper. You pay only the name AUDI…;)
@@liamzulficari8729 Une impression de plus sérieux dans l'A3, les gens voudraient bien se l'acheter mais ils sont fauchés alors ils ragent contre elle...
Pitty You kept it for Yourself that 1,5 petrol engine is very thursty (over 10lit/100km city drive) if you don't drive it very slowly. Otherways good interview, but pitty for dishonesty....
Please don’t come onto my channel and question my integrity with completely unsubstantiated comments. If you’ve an issue with your car, take it up with your dealer.
Its more expensive then a Mercedes lol. Mercedes have more options for free.... And this is the most expensive Audi version you are showing. Which goes easly over 45k euro.
