Audi A4 2.0TDi Facelift vs. BMW 320d (F30) - 1080p FULL HD 

They are both nice cars. The Audi A4 may be a facelift but it's still older than the F30 and it keeps up with the newer BMW, no problem. That's the thing with German Cars, they are timeless and the Audi proves this. For a more fun and balanced drive, new chassis, newer looks, slightly better efficiency, the BMW wins. For better all weather traction, more luxury, more refinement , better build quality, the Audi wins.

Just test drove both cars. Both have strenght and weaknesses. The BMW is more sportive and it's engine feels a bit more powerfull, the suspension of the standard car doesn't feel like it's a succersor of the E90. The audi is more comfortable but the steering doesn't feel great in fast corners. The choise will be very difficult!!!

It's true, I also like them a lot and I have A4B7, but I spent about 4000 euro for mechanic faults on the 2.0TDI engine for less than two years

both great cars, depends on what looks and character of the car a person prefer

nothing beats the look of the 3 series F30 especialy if it is with the M-sport package that is the best looking car ever produced

I used to be a fan of manual, but now I am 28 and I wanted to get auto, becasue traffic in the city is terrible. I didn't get auto, because I really liked audes and the A4 suited me, so I got manual in order to avoid issues. I service it at independent mechanics, who are working on thousands of audies and they said that the FWD is using mainly multitronic(probably the CVT), which was very problematic and quattros are using tiptronic, which was a lot better.

Sorry to hear that, I hope you don't get any more mechanical problems but I appreciate you being honest. Some hardcore Audi fans are totally blindsided by their love of Audi cars and can't accept the truth. In fact, I was close to getting an Audi but once I researched it, it really put me off. I think it was the 'What car survey' where consumers rate their cars and the A4 received very bad reviews due to mechanical faults compared to BMW 3series

I wonder why Audi still sells the Multitronic. In the past they had reliability issues with this gearbox very often and the repair is very expensive. If I had the choice I would take the BMW anyway.

yeh very true. your right, the current A4's are all CVT/ multi-tronic.. and quattros s-tronic. which is a shame, you'd expect more from Audi. your mechanic is correct, on various audi forums they slate the CVT big time. s-tronic is the same as vw's DSG. just different names. which independent garage do u use for your service?

I currently have an A4 S line and to be honest it's not brilliant. I have been driving it for 4 months motorways towns etc. I have just test drove the new BMW 320d M spot and it is simply in a different class... The BMW wins all day long I'm afraid and I have just ordered one for march this year as the Audi A4 runs out of lease contract. I love both cars but the honest opinion is the BMW 320d M Sport.

Not sure how many of you drove or heard a f30 320d live but this car is noise both outside and inside. It trembles, shakes, vibrates. Audi is a lot quieter. BMW looks really good but the quality is poor. I know whhat I'm talking about - sold a bimmer and got a a4b8 which is still quieter and more comfortable than a bimmer with its N47 that spoils all the looks and whistles.

If you want to win races, then you buy a petrol car, not a diesel. Diesel cars are not built for racing. For 2.0 engine bmw is faster, for the 3.0 engine Audi is faster

Yes with its vague and wolly steering, and the dash reminds me of the cheap plastics I had on my seat leon FR, your right nothing compares to an Audi. Until you drive a BM

I'd check that again if I were you.. Not that I actually care much about it because I don't work for either company. The M5 has always been the icon and is something special, and it feels it. Though an RS6 is a good car, it doesn't feel special.. It still feels like a machine, where as the BMW talks to you, not just through the steering wheel but with the whole car (especially the price.. Though it's worth it :D) I would go on but there really is no point and one cannot be asked to do so ; /

I won't count on that comment, Audi are far from 'best quality' according to Warranty Direct who are the UK's biggest warranty supplier. Released figures show statistically, 1 in 27 Audi's have failed compared to BMW (1 in 45), followed by VW (1 in 52). What does that mean? Audi are slightly more reliable than the MG Rover group (1 in 15) I do like Audi's but the figures speak for themselves in terms of reliability

Engines have different characters Audi is BEST just in LOW RPM with TDI in 3000RPM Finishing without Torque BUT BMW with commonrail start 2200RPM and GO without problem to 4500RPM

Yes, I didn't research and i saw the car and liked it a lot, so I paid more than they were going for, only because it was in excellent condition. I drove for 2 years and after 180K km it started. They have an issue with ballance shafts on 2.0TDI, you can find it on the net. Then the turbo, then the engine block cracked and i replaced the whole engine. The glove compartment on the dash is so badly designed, that the mechanism for slow opens broke twice. I know that 1.8T is a good engine though.

TFSI is the petrol engine while TDI is the diesel engine ... Same as VW

wow, sounds like alot of problems. i'm not surprised. a relative of mine ended up changing cars because they got fed up with the problems associated with A4's. as for your car, not sure if u have an auto or manual, me, I only drive auto's since a sports injury. I found that alot of the A4's came in CTV/ multitronic. When I researched it on various Audi forums, my God they are bad. Extremely unreliable. S-tronic is much better but u only get them on the higher spec i think.

This comparation is not equal! First of all the BMW driver doesn`t push the pedal to the floor and the BMW has 1/2 Gas in the tank and audi has only 5 liters in the tank. Btw...BMW RULZZZZZ !
