The lock has a double-sided mounting on the control cable (left and right) and in the free position facing the right side of the car, I mounted the cable and attached the end to the right front wheel arch. In case of another failure, I just pull the undercarriage and pull the cable and the hood will open, it will be faster and more convenient.

Mir ist es passiert und ich habe fast alles versucht. Audi wollte dafür fast 1000 Euro haben. Jetzt hab ich es selber gemacht und hat wunderbar funktioniert

Vielen Dank für dein Video. I am about to get my car tested and could not open the hood. The test guy showed me a trick that worked in my case: Press down hard on the hood. He said the latch mechanism needs greese. Anyway, your video offered me hope in the meantime. Cheers!

Warum wird nicht auch gezeigt wie der Seilzug getauscht wird? Das heißt, vom Fussraum bis zum Schloss?

Had the same problem with my A4 cabriolet. Had to unhook it through the bottom like is shown in other videos. Just as a caution to others with an A4 cabriolet: this wil NOT work on a cabriolet. The grill is screwed in from the top and not clipped in as on Avants and limos.
