A tip to anyone that drops a screw down the dash (like myself), take the side panel off, then the two bolts under the wheel, you should then be able to see the screw. All the best.
This a great DIY and props to you for making it i also did this retrofit and just for sake of doing this 100% complete the under cluster trim that you show at the very end of the video is different from a4 to a5. The a5 one “hugs” the cluster “rings” while the a4 is more straight. It’s called steering column cover trim part number 8T0858345A

As far as I know both cars come either with red or color display. You choose the one that matches your car. I don't know how to uograde from red to color, as I never had red.

Salut. Din pacate asta nu stiu, pentru ca am avut color de la inceput. Dar din cate imi amintesc este cineva pe olx care modifica clusterele si atunci e posibil sa fie mult mai simplu, clusterul fiind al masinii, doar cu ecran schimbat. Daca iti cumperi tu direct color de la dezmembrari, cel mai probabil o sa trebuiasca mers la reprezentanta sa iti scoata cel putin component protection-ul de pe el.
Whats different about the dash surround pieces from the A4 and A5? I bought an S5 cluster to swap the parts over, so is it entirely necessary to get the left and right surrounds as well?
Salut :) Nu stiu exact cum se procedeaza. Probabil trebuie inlaturat protection code de pe noul cluster si recodat. La fel am inteles ca s-au facut ceva modificari la unele prinderi din bord, deci e posibil sa apara mai multe complicatii pe parcurs.
A, ok, inteleg acum. Cred ca asta ai putea sa faci, dar nu am "studiat" in detaliu situatia. In schimb cred ca ai avea ceva probleme cu restul plasticelor care trebuie schimbate pe bord. Din cate am inteles nu mai au exact aceleasi prinderi.
Salutare! Am si eu un A4 B8 2008 si am probleme cu display dintre ceasuri, abia se mai vede informatia de acolo. Ai idee daca se gaseste separat sau trebuei luat cu tot cu ceasuri? Multumesc
Does anyone knows how to separate the black and gray frame apart ? I bought an after market touch screen for apple play ,but can’t seem to figure how to take those two apart ?
I figure it out ,if you put a pointy flat tool (I used a knife ) if you wiggle it and move it very carefully up and down just enough to make room for the knife to keep moving forward it definely comes off .just be careful because it’s glued to each other (if the car is a couple of yrs old (my case 2011a4) the glue will be super dried .but being very gentle it came off .
Salut 😁 Am un audi a5 si as vrea sa il schimb din mile in km, daca ii schimb doar flasa cu km este ok gen acul indica viteza corect sau sunt in pozitii diferite, gen cand acul sta la 60 de mile sta exact la 100km sau e diferita distanta, nu stiu daca ma intelegi, as vrea sa Il fac in km, se pare ca tu te pricepi bine bine 😁 Ms frumos
Salut. Din pacate nu stiu sigur. Teoretic, din cate stiu, cele care indica mile au si km scrisi mai mic si cu gri. Deci, acele ar trebui sa indice la fel daca pui cadran doar in km. Dar asta doar teoretic. Poti sa incerci si vezi ce iese.
Hello. No part numbers available. This clusters have a lot of different part numbers that I was unable to decode. Just search for A5 8T facelift cluster and trim as I did.
Why A5 cluster??? I said and showed a few times in the video that the cluster remains the one from A4 and from A5 you only use pointers and front mask.

Stop guys trying ,pretending something are not, think for a litte bit... , and if you don't like it, spend some money to buy a he A5!
What are you talking about? Why would I buy an A5 just because I like the cluster? You mean I also shouldn't put a dash cam in it, because Teslas have them from the factory and I should just buy a Tesla?
