Great video you make it look easy. Where did you get the new reservoir? I ordered from 1A auto but they sent me a tank that doesn't fit nor does it look like my old one or the one you replaced. Thanks
I just wanted to let you know that replacing this didn't help my problem. I think that I have a small head gasket leak that is causing pressure to build up in the coolant system. I just wanted to add that bit of information
In about the 12 years ive had my 08 A6 4.2 Ive went through 3 of these. All leaking from same exact spot underneath. Had me stranded once. Ive tried diff brands, none seem to last the test of time.
Extractor for the coolant or a broken screw? The coolant had leaked out so I didn't need to extract any fluid and the screw was intact upon removal. I hope that answers your question. If you need to extract fluid from yours, you can use a turkey baster or a large syringe.
@@popeyes7376 so are you changing to reservoir or just adding coolant because yours is cracked and getting low. Either way if the coolant is good, I wouldn't worry about flushing it
Thanks for watching. The coolant system shouldn't affect your oil system. Sometimes if you have a bad head gasket the coolant can cause pressure in your oil system. I am not saying that is the case. But you may want to get a second opinion.
It has been a long time since I did this but, I think you have to lift up on the front and pull toward you or lift up on the rear and pull toward you. I hope that helps. If not let me know and I will look through the footage and see if I can see anything that could be more helpful.
