I have an A6 2.0 liter . I think i have the same problem and now i will try to fix it because i saw this video .tanks a lot ! I will start working now and try to fix it .
Thank you very much now I know that I have to check my audi, the only difference that yours is to be an audi a4 2006 onwards mine is a 2004, but I will verify that relay problem.
pretty good , i have just been looking at my c5 a6 wiring diagram just killing time feelin lazy resting my sore knee before i start crawling around on my car although i think mine is the nuetral switch , but its quite helpful i am just procrastinating as i trouble shoot electrical non auto daily this is like going to work and i just want to get it done
Despite the sloppy explanation, this is actually helpful. Cold winter 2021. 3,0 TDI clicks and nothing (despite battery on a Noco tender and green), will try to fiddle with the stupid starter relay tomorrow. The voltage drop from battery to relay in these cars is just massive.
Hey great video, I have a similar issue. I have 2007 Audi A6, it's showing that the wiper Control module not working. Which of the module under the steering is the wiper Control module
To keep it simple, are you saying that e.g. if I have a bad lock module on one of the doors (which is related to central locking module), I can have a similar problems with starting the car since the starting preconditions are not met?
It's possible that the relais has a cold solder joint. I had the same problem. When the temperatur was high outside the engine didn't start. To check the relais i used ice-spray to cool the relais down in the hot sun. After i did that the engine started again and I replaced the bad relais a few days later. Good video, greetings from Germany
Hi. You manage to fix it by replacing the relay ? I have exact same problem, changed the relay but still doing the same. Need to wait 5-6min before a can start again
This issue just arose with my 2006 Audi S4 Avant. Sadly she only has 70k original miles and yet I'm still faced with this problem. As of yesterday the key won't start the car. As you stated in this video- nothing happens. At first I thought it was a dead battery but the lights in the car are all on and bright. The bose stereo also works but for some reason I can't get any volume out of the speakers. Even more weird is I noticed that when I remove the key instead of the stereo turning off it stays on permanently! That's something I've never had happen before. Even if I lock the car the stereo STAYS ON THE ENTIRE TIME! The only thing I can do is to manually turn off the screen of the stereo but it still stays powered on! At this point I'm not even sure what to do. I'm not exactly a car guru and don't have experience fixing this kind of issue. I'm also fairly broke right now so forking out possibly hundreds of dollars isn't really something I can do right now. I also can't hear the fuel pump prime when turning the key in the ignition either. I'm not 100% sure what the fix is but I think replacing the ignition switch may be my cheapest bet at this point?
Hi, in my case i cant even get any sign on control board when i turn key on, only lights inside and outside, I connect the obd and no respond on laptop, do you know any other way to make manual restart?
have an a6 sat for a long time put a new battery in it and found a wire bundle chewed under car. repaired wires and fired it up, while it had a charger on battery. after it started while idling I pulled the positive charger clamp off of the battery and everything instantly died. no lights, nothing works, battery has 14.9 volts, power to lugs under relay panel, power to main fuse next to ecm, cant figure it out really frustrating.
My problem on a 2006 a6 c6 v6 petrol was the onboard battery monitor only showed 10% , elsctric window's and central locking worked fine but it seems the ecu shut abs and steering sensor and who know whatever else off so it woukdnt even try crank. I tried 2 different battery chargers and eventually had success with a cheap slow charger , the intelligent charger with pulse auto rejuvinate functionality charged to full in 3 hrs but when i put back in the car tge inboard battery monitor still showed 10% only ... 4th time lucky taking battery in and out and leaving on charge with cheap slow charger it still only showed 20% full but it cranked and started , then after 30 minutes idling with the odd rev above 2k rpm it read 100% full and has stayed there ever since. FYI at low charge rate the voltage only read 12.1volt but at 20% it read 12.7volt which ibrdad somewhere the car wont crank if under 12.7volt. The car now has DTC 3054 : starter stuck but it starts when cold but is temperamental whwn hot and seems like a bearing on the starter isnt well and it creates drag and doubds like it cant turn over the motor much like if the battery is flat which according to the car battery monitor its isnt ............. That's my story, think ill check if the relay is seated properly
Hello, thanks for your tuto, 2006 A6 wont crank over. it says relay is bad, got new one and does not help if i jumping with wire will start normal, that means starter ok, So pls help, thanks again
I have a 2011 a6 supercharged out of no where yesterday I had a no crank no start I believe it’s the relay I’ll about to go get one & try to replace it
Hi Guys, I have an Audi A4 2.0T B8 CDN engine. The problem is the ignition switches on but I don't hear a sound from Egine Control Module and car won't start
Erkan, first if all excellent vid. I'm just wondering if you could tell me which position the relay sits (underneath the steering column) in my 2003 Audi A4 1.8T, sedan. I was at Audi this morning and I COULDN'T BELIEVE THEY COULDN'T TELL ME.
I’m having an issue with my 2004 Audi A8 L Quattro. Put a new battery in it and it’s like no juice just started. My windows won’t go up. I replaced the starter relays both of them. I just don’t know what to do next if you can help. Anyone please 🙏
Located on the passenger side foot well , you need to pull the carpet back Once you get everything out of the way, you’ll see a black box about 2 inches wide and 8” long The relay are behind that little box. Remove that little flap down off that box with a 10 mm
I made the mistake of hiring a mobile mech. Live and learn...I'll NEVER do that again. Anyway, I had it towed to a shop that works on Audi, and my problem was a FROZEN alternator. Yeah, I just assumed that was one of the first things he would've diagnosed.
What if there's no power what so ever.. Fully charged battery connected but no power to electrics, no sounds no clicks.. Completely dead.. My friends 05'AudiA4 3.0tdi Quattro is completely dead.. No response to anything apart from locking and unlocking
