Audi A6 Allroad Quattro 4.2 FSI V8 257 kW, 350 hp, cruising video & I almost hit a deer on the road
Audi A6 Allroad Quattro 4.2 FSI 4F / C6
6 speed automatic gearbox, 350 hp
Full stock petrol engine: 4163 cm3 / 4.2 l FSI, 257 kW / 350 hp, 440 Nm
Audi announced the C6 series allroad in the spring of 2005 and released it in the summer of 2006. This model was called the Audi A6 Allroad quattro (unlike the previous version, which was called Audi allroad quattro, with no reference to the A6).
The Audi A6 allroad quattro again featured adaptive air suspension and the quattro permanent four-wheel drive system. The A6 allroad was powered by a choice of two Fuel Stratified Injection (FSI) petrol engines, a 3.2-litre V6 and a 4.2-litre V8, and two TDI diesel engines, a 180 PS (132 kW) 2.7 L and a 233 PS (171 kW) 3.0 L. The tiptronic gearbox is standard on the 4.2 V8 and the 2.7 TDI, but optional on the 3.2 FSI and 3.0 TDI.
The 6-speed tiptronic transmission system converted high-torque engine power into both sporty performance and operating convenience, with crisp, fast gear changes. Advanced electronics respond efficiently to all driver input in both D (Drive) and S (Sport) programmes, helping to prevent unwanted upshifts when cornering. The five-mode air suspension can be raised by up to 60 mm (2.36 in) to provide ground clearance of 185 mm (7.28 in).
In some European markets, this A6 allroad quattro was more expensive than the larger Audi Q7, but the air suspension is also an expensive option in the Q7.

Hi how are the transmission on these particular models with the 4.2l engine? are they varley reliable because i know the older c5 models audi a6 with the 4.2 have the 5 speed tiptronic transmission and they aren't as reliable, is it the same case here on these models? thanks.
@differentcarreview-dcr
@differentcarreview-dcr 5 лет назад
yes, these newer 6 speed transmissions are more reliable than the older 5 speed versions, but even this newer one can have sometimes issues with the torque converter, so if you are buying one then check for slipping, hesitation or fluctating revs while driving which are usually the signs of a bad torque converter, other than this, just change the oil in it and you shouldn't have any issues

@@differentcarreview-dcr do the tourque convertor get weaker at certain mileage or can they go whenever? low miles or high miles

I've got a 2005 4.2 V8, 112,000 miles. I love it, but gear changes into 3rd and 5th, especially dropping down from 4th and 6th, have started to come with a jolt, particularly when involving 3000rpm or more. Have changed oil, apparently it was pretty clean, no significant improvement. Torque converter then? Expensive job?

I'm looking at picking up a loaded 2007 C6 with the 4.2 (technology package, etc). The car has 91,000 miles on it (that's about 146,000 km). They are asking $11,500. How much lower do I need to get that price in order for it to be worth it? Very clean car, black with cattle tan seats.
@differentcarreview-dcr

the mileage is not high at all and the price seems ok to me (at least for European market), but try to negotiate as much as possible anyway

Hi, Did you have oil leaks problems with your V8? It seems is a problem in this engine. I like to buy one of those. Please share with me your experience if that was the case. Thank you very much. The car sound incredible good! I love it.
@differentcarreview-dcr
@differentcarreview-dcr 7 лет назад
Yes, I had problems with smaller oil leaks and also with the ignition coils. If you want to buy one, then check the timing chain it can be worn - rattling noise after cold start - usually around 300 000 km, then the engine should be smooth on idle. And also check if there is no oil in the coolant or coolant in the oil - this is not a common problem - however if the previous owner treated this car like shit, then it can happen - for example high rpm when the engine is cold. But these are the worst cases. Otherwise it really is a great engine with a great performance and sound of course. Also change the oil after 10 000 km and try to use only premium fuel - because of the FSI direct injection.

Thank you very much. Your tips are very helpful. I have now a Mercedes Benz w210 E320. Good machine, but I like to experiment the 4motion or Quattro technology. Passat CC V6 or Audi A6 V8 are my choices. Thanks again for your kind answer. Best for you. Gustavo.

different car review i have 3 0tdi with 180.000 and it has a rattle noise on cold start about 2 3 sec and disapears a workshop said to me that it was the uper timing chain tensioner do you have an idea?
@differentcarreview-dcr
@differentcarreview-dcr 7 лет назад
yes, it is most probably the timing chain tensioner and they are usually wear out around 200 000 km, mainly because of the longer oil change intervals

@@gustavososa4364 I have a 2010 A6 3.0TFSI (300hp), better performance and better fuel economy than the V8... I would not go for the V8. I've got the ECU reprogrammed by Revo: +80hp (stage 1, over +100hp if you go for stage 2 with supercharger pulley/belt upgrade), a joy to drive!!

I m driving a 250.000km A6 3.0TFSI with Revo ECU tuning (380hp) and had zero reliability issue (got it at 120.000km, did the ECU at 130.000). I am doing maintenance at good intervals, I d say they are very reliable,
