no sir, 4.2 in A6 C4, A/S6 C5, A/S8 D2 and A6 C6 before the face-lift are MPI (multi-point indirect fuel injection) where the 5.2 from S6 C6 / S8 D3 is FSI (direct fuel injection). Their timing gear is totally different as well with the 4.2 having a belt on the front while 5.2 having a lot of timing chains at the back. tl;dr - those are totally different engines :D
