These reviews are refreshing. Finally a motor journalist that does not act like a comedian. He is focused on the car and not himself. Well done Thomas. This is a great channel.
i dont mean to be so off topic but does anybody know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account? I was dumb forgot the password. I appreciate any help you can offer me.
@Finnley Dorian i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Such an classic and extraordinary car!!! I have an Audi A6 3.0 V6 TdI from 2005!! It works amazing! Basically is not very different from 2019 (with the exception of super updated MMI and screens)!I am so proud of my Audi! The Lord Of the Rings!
One of the best and detailed A6 reviews I found (seen at least 10 by now from 4 countries). The guy is knowledgeable and lacks the BS other reviewers throw on you. In the mean time I took A6 test drive on 55TFSI Tektronic petrol, one step down from the highest level and I was very impressed. At 140 Km it was very quite and seamless. I wish I had the Autobahn in Ontario:). I currently drive a Lexus ES350 2016 Exec Package which is very quiet and powerful but obviously lacks the tech this A6 has, 4x4 traction, and aluminium body . It is a long way until I commit but ready to wait until the 2020 models go on significant discounts as Audi Canada does in December....
In my opinion, the A6 has been the best Audi offered since the C6 generation. It balances a lovely interior with very high quality assembly. It is also the perfect size for an executive saloon.
I've typically hated woodgrain in car interiors, but since manufacturers have started doing a matte finish on the wood instead of shiny resin it actually looks really nice and upmarket and I think I almost prefer it over anything else. Surprising how just the finish of the material can make such a dramatic difference to opinion.
I just picked up a new A6 a few days ago, replacing a fantastic 2017 A6. What a great car! I am surprised that the touch screens are so easy to use, as I was quite apprehensive. It is so very comfortable in every way. Performance is fantastic, but different than my prior car. Now that I have a feel for it, I love it. Thanks for the great review!
Omg.. his voice is such a pleasure to listen to. I could use it to help me fall asleep. In a good way. And such a handsome, well-dressed, man- like an Audi!
When you were driving 200 kmh i really could feel how “slow“ it feeled. Thats great for long exhausting journeys. A real transporter car 😋 Too bad they dont offer plug in hybrid for small trips like to supermarket which takes 1 km for example....
Hello, I congrat.for unique and impeccable presenation of the vehicle. I've come from very long family tradition of Audi. This model has reached excellency and is truly impeccable. It has everything you need!
Thanks for another great Review! 👏 I really like the gentle evolution of the exterior design of the all new Audi A6. Now it looks even more refined than the former A6 and represents the Quattro history of the four rings. It comes even more close to perfection. The high-quality interior looks really futuristic and the touchscreen with haptic feedback is a good replacement of the “old buttons”. It´s definitely better and easier to control than a “normal touchscreen” because you can feel your settings. Now it is time to wait for the best models of the product-lineup: The driving parts with the all new A6 Avant and the upcoming RS6! 😍❤️
I would call the MMI: "Regression through technology". I really love the "old" MMI Systems (Q7, Q5, A4, A5, A3, Q2), because they work pretty good. With the last generation of the MMI you dont need to look and lean towards the MMI to change something very important like the climate control. In german I would call the new ones: Mehr Schein als Sein.
Thomas, a question would it be possible to do an episode where you discuss German attitudes and cultural differences (if any) between the big three premium car manufacturers Mercedes, BMW and Audi?
The old MMI swivel wheel is so brilliant. I went from a mark 7 Golf to the face lifted A3 and not having a touch screen is one of the best differences.
I agree. In fact I think touch screen interfaces in a car are a major safety hazard... the touch and slide volume control in recent Hondas being perhaps the worst...How on earth can you use that without taking your eyes off the road? Keep the current MMI controller Audi please!
Audi, Porsche and VW have designers that are really great artists! The Italians have their great designers too, and that's all in Europe and America! Like always, great review Thomas, and best regards to everyone at Autogefühl, you are the best in this field :)))
Fantastic detailed review Thomas. Really not a fan of the new badging system. Creates confusion to normal people who will think the car has a 5.0 capacity engine
Sometime in the 1990s I saw an article with the headline: "Audi A6, the Perfect Automobile?" It was a stunning idea, that a new auto could be "perfect." Ever since then I have watched new Audi models, wondering if they might not be as close as possible to perfection. Now, with electric cars on the market, things are more complex. But in the context of internal combustion vehicles, new Audi A6 models continue to flirt with the standard of perfection. Great review, Thomas.
Fantastic, thorough review of the new platform. I hope this new interior will migrate to the Q5/7 by the time we're in the market to get one. You make a great point about Audi having so many AWD systems and that "Quattro" has really just become a marketing trademark. Can you please do a separate video describing all of the current versions of Quattro that are available and their differences? That would be fantastic. Thanks!
Outside of this beauty with the interior of the a4 would be the perfect car for me. Not really a fan of everything going digital, a4 does this brilliantly
Hi Thomas, best reviewer of vehicles so far in RU-vid, you are the only RU-vidr that I watch for 50 min. Could you also do an extensive review on the range rover sport such as with a drive like you normally do.
Really detailed Review of the new A6 - thanks Team! Typical excellent & clear headed Thomas commentary on the irony and stupidity of the 'cheat-device', the non-simple question of all the different drive-trains, now clean VW diesels/dirty Nissan and other diesels versus filtered european petrols/dirty US petrols; and their various driving characteristics. Good insight as always Thomas!
What a cool looking thing, and the A6 is pretty good too. Keep up the good work, Thomas! (PS, I agree about the traditional torque converter slush box being more durable.)
Excellent review Thomas! Looking forward to buy this here in Pakistan. I bought an A4 last year and will be keeping it so that gives me the knobs and dials while this 8th generation A6 will be a move into the future with the touch screens. Can you do a video on the A6’s interior colour combinations? Like a styling of the interior video. Would really love to see that.
Fantastic video. ! Just a tip on the mistake 5:49 . V6 diesel comes with 2 power options (45 tdi - 231 hp and 50tdi - 286 hp) and mated to the same 8 speed torque converter gearbox. S-tronic means 7 speed DCT and triptronic means 8 speed torque converter. By the way, I am watching this video for the very first time ever since you posted it. Perhaps, you could enlighten us the supplier of the torque converter gearbox 😊
It looks pretty awesome. Making adjustments while driving a 'negative' but overall ergonomics are excellent. One major negative in my view is the absence of the bi turbo diesel option which has to be the optimum motor.
Agree about the touch screen. It’s like going back in time when the best we had were resistive touch screens which you either had to use a stylus or your fingernail to make it work.
For me, BMW and Mercedes are better, the same tech but both have more character, style. Audi is just well rounded. Merc>BMW>Audi. Thank you Thomas for your work! Everything great like always!
Hey Thomas, I like your reviews, just when you are doing English Reviews, try to use English Menu language in Interface systems, I did noticed it in few other videos too...
What? You criticize how people talk...? On their own channel...!? Amazing. As you say, Thomas's channel is fantastic - that's the only thing I can say! Many thanks Thomas.
No, i'm not criticizing .. i'm just saying that if he's doing this for International purpose, and doing it in English, let menus on cars be on English to... is it that hard to understand ?
OMG. You are so frikkin beautiful - Hollywood type beautiful but Natural. & you have such a calming voice it seems like you have your viewers in the car with you just carrying a casual conversation during a road trip or something. It was really hard focusing on the A6 -believe me I tried. I guess I’ll have to Google it instead. & I suppose this is My 5⭐️review. Unconventional as it may be. 🇺🇸 🚘 🇩🇪
Great review again of an amazing car. I had a chance to sit in the A7 and A8 with this dual screen system. It is definitely fancy and cool to use. The way you have to press the screens for it to detect a response is a bit annoying in the beginning, but you would get used to it I guess. Also, in Germany Audi doesn’t like to be very generous with the kit a certain trim gets. For example, a S-Line trim in the UK already gets you a very decent standard kit. By the way, I don’t want to be too political here, but even the automotive industry can get in the crosshairs of politics. To me this Dieselgate stuff is a lot of political theatre. As you mentioned VW has the cleanest diesel engines in the automotive industry.
What do you think about diesel cars? Producers keep bringing out diesel powered cars although governments are trying to stop the pollution. Good reviews, love them!
the whole "let's get rid of diesel cars" crap is just a tabloid subject that retarded automotive based websites are abusing to get viewers. The reality is far different.
Great review, I own a C7.5 A6 and ordered an A4 Avant 6 months ago, as it would be more practical for my German Shepherd dog. The A4 has been delayed because if WLTP tests so will probably swap the order for an A6 Avant, following your review!
I may be in a minority but I think the interior has taken a backwards step. The previous A6 had a nicer interior. I don't like the touch screens and I miss the pop up screen from the previous A6.
Just a suggestion since I see this outside 3D popping up everywhere. Next review, please try to park near an obstacle so we can see how the cameras present the object relative to the 3d image of the car. As it is right now, without obstacles (a small pole or another car) the review in respect to this system is useless. Good review outside of that!
Very good review Thomas “The Seat” 😂 I keep meaning to ask is that your garage door opener in the cup holder ? Have you ever programmed the Audi ir Mercedes built in ones ? Do the work well from a reasonable range ?
I really appreciate the state-of-the-art reviews, Autogefühl are making, and this is a very nice one too - with great filming and detailing at the exact right level. The only thing I am missing a bit here is a comment regarding the obviously lacking speeder response (here at 29:08 and 33:34) when you are pushing it. I has been heavily criticized by others testers. What is your opinion on that?
I mean, when you 'hammer it through', there’s a significant and detectable delay (about two seconds!) between the pedal going down and the drivetrain loading up. It could be the typical single-turbo lag or a transmission issue.
I checked out 2019 audi a6 yesterday and yeah. Its awesome looking car, nice to drive, technologically sound but as you said, passenger at the back won’t enjoy as much. It’s slightly cramped for vehicle this big, and the rear seating position is kinda awkward. A little bit too straight maybe
Are there any pictures of the “base” LED lights? I’ve never seen them on press cars (obviously) and there are no good pictures on the Audi website / configurator.. do they have a LED stripe like the A5 / Q5 or these ugly dots like on the A4?
Audi A 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, just imagine the next generation in the future, Audi A 10, you a call a taxi, enter the car, tell where to go and you travel absolutely autonomously, then pay the driver and don`t worry about fuel, oil and rapairs, this is the biggest luxury.
My god that has to be the largest ECU casing on the market :D Really elegegant car overall. Not a fan of the animated turn signals though. Super annoying to look at :P
I'm sorry Thomas but u just don't know how the use the digital controls. You can actually slide to change the temperature with the color bar to the side of the plus and minus. It also has other features which makes it very configurable. Just take time to learn how it works and u may not hate it as much.
The interior looks brilliant in nearly everywhere, but Audi really needn't to make everything digital. Modern, advanced, intuitive, full of sense of high-end technology, but they makes a car like a point-and-shoot camera. I think to some people, they hope new-tech will enhances a product rather than making a product a slave of it. (I'm learning English, forgive the grammar error please and I hope you could help me to correct them and give some advices. Thanks:)
Well basically , I can go right now and buy myself a Type R and a Superb Sportline (full spec both) and still have some change for the price of an A6. Minding that the SuperB would be only using the "options money" of an A6. All I would loose is a meaningless badge , technology that is not really necessary and probably a little bit of riding comfort. Of course if someone wants an A6 , go ahead but im finding it sooo hard to justify the price.
beauty !! great review. And In person I would pick Avant version which looks sexy tooo ! :) EDIT: and color should be this one: www.audi.lt/dam/nemo/models/a6/a6-avant/my-2019/1920x1080-mtc-XL-16-9/video/1920x1080_Modul6_Scrani_XL_Raumangebot_V018.mp4 P.S. If 6 sec video dont show. make F5 (refresh) in browser.
