Follow me on instagram quattro_obsessed_ quattro_obs... If your Audi MMI isn't responding or operating like it's suppose, force restarting your MMI will fix the issue.
Mane I definitely appreciate this video I'm on a long trip and my mmi went out doing this hard reset definitely helped and brought the system back up thanks 🙏🏽
Hello. My Audi A5 coupe MMI, when you on it and automatically it goes off and also the light does not display (where the menu and the joystick is, where you used to reset your Audi in this video) Please can you help. Thank you.
Hi there. Thanks for the video. I have a 2011 Q5 which has the menu functions on the front and not near the gears. The one you have is later version (2011 later version or premium version had menu console near the gears). My AMI cable has usb at one end and doesn't recognise the usb when attached. Also in the media settings, AMI is greyed out even though usb is connected. I tried reset settings and it did reset but still AMI is greyed out. I don't have Menu button that i can press with other buttons as you suggested for hard reset unless you want to give me any alternative solution please. Can you help? Thanks
Do you know why they can't read my software for emission test? What should I do? No dash lights, new oil change and all filters, car is in good condition. Thanks
@@homeoftheobsessed1168 Firstly I just saw your comment. Sorry :/ My problem was that while the phone was connected to the car, I went away to buy a hamburger. When I came back, the radio or bluetooth didn't work, I tried hard and then I found your video.
Good morning. Recently the audio system in my Audi Q7 2009 stopped working. The MMI does come on but not speakers. Any advice as to how to it? Your response will be appreciated.
It could be that your amplifier is completely dead but before you assume that I would check your amplifier which is located in the trunk. I would unplug it and replug, you will see unlatch plastic cable you disconnect. Hope that helps, I would also check for any water damage in the amplifier section since that section is prone to have water leak from the windshield wipers.
Hey mate, just had my fuse blow for the reverse camera and cigarette sockets which is on the same fuse. Got it changed and they are working now, problem now is when ever i turn on ignition or the car the reverse camera stays on and cant be removed (so on even on high speeds)when i remove the fuse the park aid only works, cigerate lighters dont and system works fine Would you have come across this before?😅 Thank you!
Hi, I haven’t much exposure to the fuses on these cars yet. I can you tell that the MMI is the brain of these cars. It seems to me that MMI needs to be re calibrated or re synced. Something you can check is the camera display is switched to On. My car has these options 1. Click Car button 2. Car Systems 3. Driver Assist 4. Parking Aid 5. Ensure the Display is ON position. These steps might vary depending on year model of your Audi. It seems to me that the camera isn’t getting feedback for speed and transmission gear. Let me know if this resolves the issue.
Hey mate, unfortunately it was only for parking assist. Tried putting a fuse it the reverse camera slot and nothing happened so im assuming the spots been put together with the cigerate socket Thanks anyway for your help mate 😀
I have used the factory reset setting, and still don't have a satellite signal. I had it originally when I purchased the vehicle any other tips ? ( Audi Q5 ) my navigation shows 8 satellites so I'm just confused on how to get my sirus setting back
What’s year for your model Q5? I’m guessing you have lost your subscription signal for SiriusXM when you did the factory reset. Within in the MMI options do you see FM/AM and Sirius option on the screen? You might have to re enable the connection. I found this useful article that might help. It’s hard to asses the issue without seeing it in person. www.sidmartinbio.org/how-do-i-activate-my-audi-xm-radio/
@@homeoftheobsessed1168 thanks yes tried refreshing the signal over the phone with customer service at Sirus XM and no I don't see the band feature but I'll use this article hopefully it helps Ty 🥰
Hi, I have a 2016 Q3. I have two concerns. When I start the car the language is in German. In addition, the words do not appear on digital display. The radio works fine and the words appear, but none of the words appear for all the other functions such as media, car, menu, phone (can't see my phone list). I tried using the fix you recommended but nothing happens. This problem started about two weeks after we changed the battery (not from dealer). Do you have any other suggestions?
Your situation suggests a common issue with new battery installations. When replacing the battery, coding changes are necessary in the system, typically done with tools like OBDeleven or VAGCOM. For Audi OEM batteries, updating the BEM code is crucial. If it's an aftermarket battery, the process becomes more intricate, involving duplicating the code for system acceptance. If you lack the required tools, I advise you to take your car to an Audi authorized dealer. I hope that helps.
I do the reset and all that a couple times and my system always initializing…media and navigation didn’t work but for call it’s okay….i don’t understand😔
It can potentially if a communication glitch is present with your TPMS sensors and the MMI. From my understanding there’s a specific fuse for the TPMS.
If this doesn’t work another option is to reset the Tire Pressure Monitoring System(TPMS) within in your MMI. It just depends on your year model. If you choose the car button on panel Select Service Checks Look through the menu for Tire Pressure Monitoring and it should give you a option to store and reset it.
can anyone help me I got into the green menu and started the booatleader now the multimedia is not working nor can it be turned off. looking for a CD, I have a factory cd but it says that no file is available. thank you in advance🙂
What’s year and model do you have? What are you trying to do in the green menu? Force rebooting is the only option via the MMI controls or removing your battery which would cause all your predefined options to be reset to factory.
What’s to do if my screen turns on for 2 seconds and go off again ? I tried hard reset with no luck This is my second screen doing that, I start to think maybe something wrong with the car , not the screen …
@@homeoftheobsessed1168 just drove 13 hours home from Miami. You fixed my Bluetooth with this video and I would of went crazy without it. Thank you and happy new year to you
Hello, I have an Audi and the music, the radio and everything about the sound has stopped. Do you have any idea where to start? I checked everything. The sound came on for a few minutes and then disappeared again. Please I need your help
In the truck of most Audis you’ll find a amplifier. It’s usually located on the drivers side(on the side). If you open the cover. That technically sometimes has glitches which can cause the sound not to work. If you disconnect and reconnect, that might resolve the issue with the sound. I hope that helps.
The screen is frozen from what you are telling me. With the hardest does it automatically go back to the Audi Drive Select screen? What year and model do you have?
@@homeoftheobsessed1168 a4 2011 premium plus. The screen is not frozen. I just cannot pick a different mode aside from dynamic. Everytime I click a different mode, it goes back to dynamic
I’m assuming the force restart didn’t resolve the issue? It’s difficult to tell what could be causing the issue. - Map update - did you recently update? - The software firmware needs to be updated
You would need the files but you can definitely do it yourself. I’ve done it myself but I purchased the updated version and firmware from this guy. I believe it’s 60 dollars or so. You can attempt to email him vagnavinfo@gmail.com.
I did everything and it’s telling me that it still won’t connect it just keeps saying device not found and when they do connect it just glitches out when I’m playing music I have no clue what to do
It must be your Bluetooth adapter that’s malfunctioning. It’s quite expensive to service these units especially at the dealership. You might want to get a separate Bluetooth adapter and plug it in. I think you might have connection in your glovebox. I’m thinking something like this. I would check if it’s compatible with your year and model though. 3G AMI Bluetooth Adapter Compatible www.amazon.com/dp/B07NW9JZ9K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_XEJJ5KKTX69Z7QVM84ST
@@homeoftheobsessed1168 I’m down to buy that adaptor in the link you sent but would it work my my 2013 Audi s5? I see on it that it says it’s 3G on my infotainment screen it tells me I have 2G. Would it still be compatible?
@@brianshamoon8657 are you seeing 2G on the lower right corner of your screen? That’s your current bandwidth The Bluetooth adapter I shared is specifically for 3G. You can find another one specifically for 2G.
1. I would try restarting your phone. 2. Remove the phone connection from the MMI completely and re-establish connection like you would if you got a new phone.
Your issue was happening with my car...I would get phone threw the car but no audio ...now the car doesn't even start anymore a week after that started...smh
If recall correctly that’s option to restore the MMI to its original factory setting. This will remove any predefined settings you have set for example phone etc.
hope this works on my 2013 S6 as I don't have the button in the button but all the rest. Mine suddenly won't see my SD card even though I used it all the time and checked with my PC that the card is ok... :(
@@homeoftheobsessed1168 well I keep adding to it since it is my music card for music in the car. I had one last thing that I didn't check and also thought was highly unlikely and that is the SD adaptor. My PC only takes the tiny SD card and the Audi the older larger SD cards. Although I couldn't imagine the adpator to be the culprit, it actually was!!! I changed the adapter and sure enough it works again. That adaptor is so simple and just contacts as you will know yet it actually failed. I also found another video like yours that described the reset as with my S6 knobs (the same really) and that reset functions (but didn't solve my problem as the problem was as said my defect mini to larger SD card adaptor). Many thanks for responding.
Glad to hear that you resolved the issue. I was thinking you might have downloaded a song without FAT32 format but usually you get some some kind of error from my understanding. Good to know for future reference!
@@homeoftheobsessed1168 Indeed. I was actually getting most annoyed with my Audi which has cost me a lot of money in the last 2 years in repairs (no comparison to my BMWs in the past that were far less prone to any problems) and then suddenly I couldn't listen to my music anymore either (radio over here is dreadful and never plays my type of stuff) thinking heck now the MMI is defect! So I was really getting hacked off. But I can't blame that one on Audi. It was simply a pure step by step process of elimination and I just thought, well try that since it's the last thing I can test. I've never had something as simple as an SD card adaptor fail!! 😮😂 I think I will get a large SD to USB adaptor so as to leave the mini SD in situ in the adaptor since I think the constant removal and reinsertion into the SD adaptor will be the problem, they're just not designed to handle such frequent removal and re-insertion which is what I had to do each time I added a new track! 🙂
@@homeoftheobsessed1168 ok 😀 u r looking Türkish. I have question, I bought an s5. but flood damaged. ie wet. MMI is not working. Why do you think it would be ? Thankyou
Depending on how much water damage the s5 had. One think that I can think of is your amplifier, located in your trunk, left side boot. If water got into that that would cause the MMI not to work. Variety of fuses could go out as well.
Audi multimedia is one of the worst softwares ever! Who ever designed it must have had shit for brains. On my audi Q3 my phone doesn’t connect to Bluetooth properly i tried a little bit of everything nothing works. If you buy an audi it’s definitely better to have another smart radio installed
I agree! I have seen the newer versions of the MMI interfaces have improved drastically but the same issues are present. The MMI is executed quite nicely but it needs improvement from a reliability standpoint. That’s a common issue I have come across. I’m sure you have attempted to remove any trace of your phone from the MMI and attempted to add it like a new phone. I have noticed that sometimes works.
I’m assuming you are referring to the button panel on the center console. If water or debris got under the panel that could cause it to malfunction. Do all the other features work?
@@homeoftheobsessed1168 no I’m talking about all the buttons near the shifter like Radio, menu, Tel, back, Nav, and all the Crome buttons. All those buttons aren’t displaying the red light and it literally stopped displaying right after I went to a drive threw car wash.. I know weird. Radio will turn on sometimes for like a few seconds then when I press the radio button it shuts off
It’s quite weird that this occurred right after your car wash but could it be that water got into the amplifier area. Far fetched idea but worth checking.
