The two screens were cool until you realize no physical buttons means you need to look down all the time. Plus theres too many menus to sort thru. Mercedes has it beat since you can control everything from the wheel, and BMW too since you can save home pages as well as 8 shortcut buttons.
All driver aids and comfort features are voice activated. No need to fiddle with touchscreens or take your eyes from the road.. that you still do if you use conventional dials.
The commands are limited. I tried selecting an album via voice commands... all you get is "sorry i didn't understand that". BMW system works with no issue. Audi has some work to do, to avoid causing accidents with their highly distracting system .
I have it, it's really not that difficult dude. For the temperature or fan speed, you can slide your fingers up or down without looking. The temperature shows up on the top MMI. The seat warmer and cooler don't take away from the view too. Until you've driven it and gotten used to it, you won't know what you're talking about.
You realize that you can modify screens to have your favorites and/or move things you want to one screen? Steering wheel has several items on it as well and I’m impressed that you memorized everything on your wheel because I have to look down to the wheel when I want to change something.
I would strongly suggest that since this is essentially an instructional video, announce what you are GOING TO DO so that we can see it, instead of making viewers rewind to see what you did because you didn't mention it until after you had done it.
Mine is 2023 A6-55 Prestige. Your video shows a "SD Card" source. I can't find that in mine, and I don't see anywhere to insert a SD card. Also, on mine there is another page (total 3) on my home screen, whereas yours shows only 2. Any idea why? Is my MMI system different than this apparent 2021 version or are my settings out of whack?
imagine this: you are listening your favorite song and want to come back to its original folder which is a subfolder in one of folders in directory - it is not possible! You have to come back to the root and search for that particular subfolder again...
We just bought a used 2020 q3 komfort, our touch screen does not have a play/pause or skip track button on the touch screen?? Is there a way to add it?
wow, i was this early! i forgot to sub, i've been watching your channel for SUCH A LONG TIME and still haven't subbed, sorry! :( great vid too, the MMI looks nice!
First thing to do with this new system, turn OFF haptic feedback. It makes the system faster and more like using a smartphone or tablet. I mean do we use haptic feedback on our phones, nope.
Normally, no. But it’s a nice feature when you want to make a distinction between a simple button tap, vs. a tap-and-hold for secondary options. is that how it works?
thank you for the great video, small question for the MMI navigation. is the map downloaded and use it for whole europe for example? or generally how does it work?
Hi there! I assume you're in a D or E segment Audi so not quite the compact A3 PHEV I'll get in a few weeks 😂 that C segment Audi just has the upper screen and virtual cockpit. That said, I'm used to my current A3 (model year 2015) with the old MMI+ and here comes my question: to listen to my music I'm using a SD card, and have stored some music in the "jukebox" (an internal hard disk). Well, in the new A3 (with that new MMI system) I think I just get USB ports and not a SD slot or internal hard disks ... do you know if that's correct? I might have got it wrong ... . Never mind, my question is: how do I have to 'organize' my music library? Now on my SD card I've a 'i-tunes architecture' meaning it's organized exactly as on my iMac (just dragged and dropped the whole folder) ... and it works well! album covers, artist list, etc. everything works pretty smoothly ... Do you know how this new MMI works, and how I should organize my music library on a USB stick? Thanks a lot in advance!! 😉
Does anyone know how to fast scroll through a long list of songs? Other systems bring up an alphabet list...makes finding a particular song so much easier.
Excellent overview. As usual, Audi is at the top of the latest technology. I do know the Mercedes MBUX is probably the new standard but has more problems currently than Audi’s tried and true MMI. I am anxious to hear more about MIB 3.
This is NOT an excellent overview. The presenter does not use the correct terminology. He assumes his audience knows much more about the car than a new owner would. This might be a decent overview for an owner who has owned the car for a few weeks and has had some experience and/or training elsewhere.
Very informative video sir, it will be very useful if you could tell me what the symbol near Bluetooth looks like shield with location mark stands for? Regards
Howdy, awesome video as always, this was very informative! Don’t get me wrong, for a car like a Ford or Volkswagen, this would be an excellent system, however, I think that for a luxury car brand, a swivel wheel or touchpad seems more fitting!😸😻😸
I have the same system on my A7 Vorsprung. I disabled haptic feedback as I wanted the system to wirk like my smart phone screen. Once the initial setup and choices were made, it took me about two weeks to develop the muscle memory, which meant I didn't really need to gaze at the screens to make changes and I find the system slick and easy to navigate. I thought I would, but I really don't miss the jog wheel. I have some voice commands that I find useful, that aren't as comprehensive as the Merc or even BMW but at least the assistant doesn't continually intervene and I find things like radio, phone, nav, heating and cooling all respond well and work flawlessly. In my view, it's not as showy as the Merc but gets the job done efficiently.
It is a nightmare to live with! I upgraded for the full tech pack. If you try the voice recognition on the Nav it locks the system up. You have to turn the car off for 5 minutes to reset and get the radio/music back on. The Phone works most of the time! but not all the time. The connection of you phone works most of the time! but not all the time. The shortcuts take a few minutes most of the time to connect. The phone doesn't charge just gets hot. In short it is rubbish and makes me want to change the car, along with the horrendous throttle lag. Audi have let themselves down with the Audi A6 C8 and all the tech that goes with it. Buy anything else not this piece of C**p
