hello I have the same engine on my q7 . I replace the pcv valve with a original one ,and I still have the same problem with suction and removing the oil cap. there something else I have to check? thank you
The engine does need vacuum in the engine, so if you remove the oil cap and you feel suction that’s good. When you don’t have suction in the oil cap there’s an issue with your vacuum lines or something with the vacuum system.
If this engine is the same as the s5 there should be a breather valve on the bottom of the manifold if it’s stuck closed or not opening completely there will be more vacuum then necessary

I have the same Q7 4.2 liter engine. However i have a random misfire on multiple cylinders with a rough idle struggle to run. I replaced all 8 injectors, 8 coil pack, 8 spark plug. But car still running the same way, could this be the pcv valve?
I replaced it due to the truck having a vacuum leak so I ended up doing all new vacuum lines, PCV, and check valves just get it fixed and not worry about vacuum for a long time.
