@@daspedal2730 also wheres your old comment? Also when did i insult you? So....are you one of those cool energy drink kids that use caffeine and type hate comments...kid?
Terribly loud car, looks uncomfortable, too. Transmission does not sound smooth, why not have an automatic? Excuse me now, I'll thumbs down this clip and move on to my next suggestion: "2017 Toyota Camry air-conditioned POV drive with seat heating"
@super hessu I guess drifting an AWD or 4wd is not as bad as drifting a RWD car, and also the Audi Quattro is very front heavy and understeers quite often take a look at 0:40 where he turns the wheel more but the car doesn't turn more, and 0:50 where he had to chill a little to make it turn. Maybe he was drifting just to avoid the annoyance of that understeer haha.
Turbos rev.the turbo isnt the limiting factor its cam lift and fueling and flywheel weight. Modern road cars are set up for midrange torque. Street driveability.
@@nielsreiziger4850 fuck off with that jtcc.... Group B, 80s/90s Dtm, 60s/70s sports car, 60s/70s F1............are the golden eras of motorsport..........
It sure does. Some legendary finnish b class rally driver described this car accelerated from start line like truck would have just crashed into back of your car. Even on gravel. Also due quite primitive 4wd system you had to drive this baby differently through the cornes unlike any fwd or rwd car. "like a train".
Haha indeed :) , this car is a rocket even for now a days . It is a legend but also a true thoroughbred race car, the oil that flows through this car eventually flows through the driver’s vains as well. It still makes its mark today as a racer and as one of the most insane cars of racing historie , some say the ultimate cheat and others say way ahead of it’s time and that is what is called a leading edge .
not just that, but these are 4WD, not AWD, which means there is no hand brake. If you notice the lack of any hand brake at all, the only way to rotate a car like this is to either flick it in, or power it around. not exactly an easy car to drive, because they only really turn well under power, but the power easily overwhelms the tires grip.
@@chubbysumo2230 Pretty sure it was AWD as the power went through a center viscous coupling differential with the Audi S1. A 4wd system would mean that it would be mechanically linked through a standard transfer case or locking differential. The hand brake wasn't pulled back in the day because they didn't have the ability to disconnect the rear axle when pulling the handbrake although you can still pull it if the clutch is engaged (as seen in the video).
He shifts pretty fucking good, really fast upshifts. He just doesn't heel and toe on the downshifts it must have something to do with the gearbox as it doesn't seem to upset the car.
From time to time i just come here and watch this video again and again, and cry a river, omg that sound that car that driver perfect, need more of these :)
Great driving. This Audi is a handful, but Beres is master behind the wheel.I get goosebumps when i remember him in 550 horsepower Subaru Impreza WRC and 550 horsepower Mitsubishi Lancer EVO 3 on hillclimbs, driving them on limit. What a driver.
+Adrian Wallace (Simplly Addy) LOL it was the car that made Audi what it is today ;) Audi first wasnt really a car mark or model...it was an alliegence between 4 car manufacturers that made one car called Audi (just it audi alone), thats the meaning of the 4 rings on audi symbol. They made audi S1 4wd (quattro is the resemblance to the 4 wheel drive). After that Audi was known and grown up cuz of that. today it VW group (Audi, VW and seat)
I liked the old Auto Union racers (Type C and D) before the war, and Audi kept their rings as the Audi symbol so I liked them for that; but as far as Audi cars yes this did it for me
Some nice driving and 4 wheel power slides there, great sound and brings back memories standing in the forests watching these monsters speed through them.
Awesome drive, great gear shifting and matching. The car seems to understeer heavily in fast corners, I think I remember Walter Röhrl working on the setup a lot because of this.
I've watched this like 30 times in the last two weeks. I can't get over how fast and crisp his shifts are. This dude is nuts. And don't even get me started on the car. I love the old Quattros. They're amazing.
Une véritable symphonie mécanique et un beau pilotage.. Really a true mechanical symphony and a beautifull driving control.. what an amazing car!! I love 5 cylinders sound, thx for this video clip :)
You sir... Are a fucking legend pardon my french, and your car is insane. If you own that car my level of envy towards you is beyond measurable levels. This has only strengthened my resolve to build my own audi sport quattro s1 evo 2. FIA WHAT MORE DO YOU NEED??? BRING BACK GROUP B!!!
+R. James Patterson Skene it's called throttle steering, you use the throttle on a car that has a loose rear end to steer the car, especially if it understeers so badly like this car.
This is like watching back my best run from Asetto Corsa or Dirt Rally . Looks so effortless like it's a video game but at the same time you can tell he's working so hard, the result is pure Bliss.
