@@wosa9461 sorry a silly question. If we do buy the obd11 pro, would it work on an ios device? In some videos they were talking about getting their android devices to do coding.

Yes this was the older OBD11 - the newer one works with IOS for coding now (I’m using an iPhone 11 Pro in this video)

Yeah the Carista probably works out to be a similar cost in all fairness once you’ve opened and unlocked what you want that’s pretty much it until you get a fault to check!

You’re not putting anymore strain on to the haldex, you’re only shortening the delay it will engage the haldex clutches once the front wheels slip - if anything, bring your service times down to 10k

OBD does have “apps” which are pre-requisite options, however I’m not sure how reliable they are - the best solution is to long code them out, you would need the pro version for this

It isn’t unfortunately - this requires some hardware the S3 doesn’t have

Tuning doesn’t effect the operation of this device as it will still speak and code to all modules - My S3 in this video is stage 3 tuned 530bhp, that’s why my redline is a lot higher than stock

Hi Mark! Would this be an 8Y (new shape) S3? As far as I am aware, this will not work on the newer shapes - make sure the bonnet is up when coding though, this puts the car in service mode

Thanks for the reply. It is the old shape 69 plate S3. I have tried with the bonnet up in dynamic mode and back to neutral. I just get a code 31 on my obd eleven interface. I have managed to make other apps work. I am baffled.

Hello! I believe the S5 doesn’t have the G sensor installed on the car to have the G meter work, you can code in the G meter but it will not do anything, this only came on the RS5 models I’m afraid!

Yes they will stay open if coded as open

Yes - you can get the live data for Gearbox temp and a whole other host of things IOS device will just give you figures whereas an android device will let you have a chart/graph for data logging

No buddy, this requires removal of the cat efficiency DTC from the ECU - only by reading and altering and re-flashing

@@wosa9461 finally got my hands on the device! Okay so far, although a little disappointed as a lot of the stuff says it’s not supported with my car (2019 Audi S3 Sportback). Very frustrated as one of the main things I wanted to change was the start/stop as it drives me mad! ☹️ did you have any problems when doing this?

Yes matey! The car is stage 3 now so the turbo powers through to high in the rpm - Rev limit is now hitting 7400rpm from the stock limit of 6800rpm

Had some fueling issues since being mapped, however I found the problem (just editing a new video now) all fixed! And the best time I’ve had is 0-60 3.02! 👀

You are changing settings on particular modules on the car which stores the settings - so you can take the OBD11 off and your modifications will be stored/changed, no need to keep the device plugged in 😎👍🏻

Hello! Hmm.. good question, I would imagine if you changed a particular setting on a module and this module or part related to the module failed and was put forward for a warranty claim, then the warranty claim may/would be denied

You would need the steering module for this to work - unless you have self parking etc it will not work

@@wosa9461 all the modules are instaled ....was working before ...it just stopped working ....now when i press the button it seems like is active but dont do nothing when driving ...is just show the grey lines and do nothing .... i play around with obdeleven and seems all working fine, calibration of camera is ok but something missing mabe some fresh coding will help ...

Sounds like you have an issue with your front camera - had you changed anything via coding prior to this happening?

@@wosa9461 was working fine alot time then car in the garagr ,then i changed the windshield (but for free with assurance company) and the calibrate and test and they say all ok ...saying is weird all test ok but in the drivind dont work .... also the ACC jam assist stoped working also (when i press to activate message pop and say :unavaible check owner manual ...is like i dont have the radars anymore ....but i have prestige packk all sistems where working fine .... (mabe some full coding will help ...the thing is if i go to a dealer will pop me with some 1000 euro or more (so i have to tool to code but i dont know the steps ....that why i search a full coding tutorial ...mabe will help ...

You can revert back no issue - I would imagine your dealer would use any excuse to void warranty so best reverting prior to a warranty claim, the device stored history of changes and will tell you what has been changed from what setting to the current setting

Depends what stage your car is at - for 1&2 vibration reduction and torque limitation off works well, not so good for stage 3 though

That’s strange - I though they did this standard? It’s one of the changes I haven’t looked at to be honest, there’s a helpful forum on the OBD11 website that might be able to help - I’ll have a look for a Solution/answer though

Hey Felix! I would imagine if a component fails that you have coded differently, then Audi would refute the claim - but as a whole, this wouldn’t affect your warranty

It’s some extra coding I’m trying to get my hands on, I know of a few guys who can do it - but they’re reluctant to give the info over as they own VCDS adjustment businesses 😩

It’s something to do with the actual dash module itself - the 2019 models onwards have this ability, the pre 2019 only have the ability to show the gauges but not actually work

It’s annoying it’s like this across the range - Torque and Power work on 2019 S3’s onwards, but not the previous models. No idea why G Meter can’t be loaded correctly on the S4 🤷🏻‍♂️

Hi Thomas - yes, from 2019 onwards they came with the necessary module to do this, only the gauges appear on pre 2019 but 2019 after the gauges will work 😎👍🏻

Audi was partnered with Google maps until 2020 when they didn’t re-new their licence, so prior to 2020 the navigation was Google maps

Oh I have a 2018 8vs3 and it doesn’t have it I guess that’s why

No subscription fee - the “Pro” device comes with 200 credits (each app price is 10 credits aside from “video in motion” which is 100 credits) You earn credits each time you open the app (2-3 credits) however should you require more credits you can buy 200 for £37.99 or there are other small/larger options) Honestly 200 credits is enough for the changes most would want

No - the DSG would just require going in to the coding section of the OBD reader, most of the things the “apps” do that cost credits can be done via the coding options, the apps just serve as a quick loading of settings without delving in to the coding. The long coding part of the OBD are clearly displayed for what the settings/coding does - so in that sense, there is really no need to use the apps for most changes, it’s just a dummy proof way of changing settings

This particular time yes, if you are changing many things during the same login you will experience some options to not work It works best when you log in to a particular module and code one item and then back out

Unfortunately S3’s pre 2019 never came with the required module to do this 😩
