He was changing timing chain. What do you expect ? Timing chain on gen3 2.0 tfsi lasts around 200 thousand km. You have to take away same things if you change timing chain even on on Fabia. Nothing weird of overcomplicated here actually.
VAG Group are just one well build machine for money. Every maintenance cost a lot of time, efforts and money! Everything so complicate and hard to be done. I had one like this it was a nightmare now I own Honda CRV with 2.0 I-VTEC and everything is so simple for maintenance and accessible no need to disassemble the all car to change some simple stuffs like accessory belt for example.
Chain isn't mostly a problem the weakest part is the plastic chain guides and tensioners they wear out faster and needs to be changed. So it's wiser to change the chain as well
Watching this you'll understand why they charge $200 bucks an hour! One missed step or lost bolt and it can result in catastrophic engine damage or check engine light hell

The timing chain is not a maintenance item. You replace it when it wears out. The (chain driven) 2.0TFSI can go up to 300k miles before needing a new one.
They literally showed the streched out chain, and the 1.8, 2.0L engines chains never last 300k. You must be lucky if you can get 60k miles out of a chain.
@@mxlife3663 Not sure what youve been smoking but the 1.8t is a belt not a chain. The early 2.0t had some chain issues but the later version with proper care could make 300k
I wanna know what you're doing different. Iv changed these at 75,000miles chain so stretched the tensioner is maxed out and its setting timing codes. And the oil change was done every 5k miles

Прежде чем нятянуть цепь. Нужна преспособа чтобы зафиксировать фазы от прокручивания. Потом ослабить фазу чтобы цепь метками совпала с меткой на фазе. Вы же пытаетесь слегка сделать упор за распредвал, чтобы натянуть цепь. На таких машинах это категорически делать нельзя. В целом отличная работа 👍
@@TheGrLeonid во всех развитых странах проводят работы, которые предписаны заводом-изготовителем. Все работы приурочивают к пробегу. Соответственно, на необходимом пробеге нужно заменить не только масло, но и антифриз и комплект цепи ГРМ. Это вам не гараж подпольный, где отдельно цепь меняют, а масло нет.
Most mechanics hate these cars. same goes for break my wallet or Benz. Even mechanics that like European cars don’t like these because they are boring and full of plastic. But if you bring them something old like a Porsche or a jag they will love it.
Балку на которую вешаете мотор лучше развернуть так , чтобы длинная часть была направлена в другую сторону .голову надо беречь . надеюсь вы проверили, что балансировочный вал находится в нужной позиции . эффектно смотрится , но .....
